FPL GW21 Differential Picks:

Lucas Digne vs Newcastle(H), TSB: 5.2%

Lucas Digne- Differential Pick for GW21
Lucas Digne is back and is welcome by some nice fixtures!

Digne may be a little skeptical pick to start off with Everton getting just 4 clean sheets this season. But it’s time to look into the fixtures as Everton face Newcastle, Leeds and Fulham in the next 4 games. Digne did have a bright start to the season getting 5 assists from the first 9 games before getting injured. He still has the second most assists(6)among defenders this season only behind Robertson(7) who has played 9 more games then Digne. The case to use a transfer for Digne increases with him starting at left wing vs Leicester and as always in set pieces!

Lucas Digne Heat Map- Played at Left Wing against Leicester City

Key stat- Digne has the best xA/90(0.27), best Big chances created/90(0.51) among defenders this season(Minimum 600 minutes)

Harvy Barnes vs Leeds(H), TSB: 5.7%

Barnes FPL
Harvy Barnes with some good fixtures in the longer run.

Leicester City probably have one of the best fixtures in the longer run as they face only Liverpool in GW24 as the only tough game(FDR-4) over the next 9 games. Barnes has always been a risky FPL pick due to his reduced minutes but it looks like has made the spot his own having completed 90 minutes in the all of the last 6 games. Leeds have been poor at the back and these are the games best suited to the counter attacking Leicester.

Numbers to back-up Barnes:

  • 5 attacking returns- 3 goals, 2 assists from the last 6 games
  • 17 shots(5th), 7 shots on target(5th), xG-2.17(7th), 3 goals(3rd), 38 points(5th) among midfielders since GW15.
  • Leeds defense- Most big chances conceded(28), 2nd worst xGC(19.82) and just one clean sheet since GW11.

Danny Ings vs Aston Villa, TSB: 7.7%

Danny Ings FPL GW21 Differential
Danny Ings is back from injury and COVID

Ings has not been been able to replicate his brilliant last season(22 goals) due to injuries. But with injuries to premium forwards(Kane and Vardy), budget strikers Bamford, Adams dipping in form, it might be the time to get in Ings in FPL GW21. When fit, Ings has risen to the occasion with 10 goal contributions(7 goals, 3 assists) getting 75 points averaging 5.35 points per game. He is one of the those mid-priced strikers in the game who are really consistent when fit.

Ings in numbers:

  • Favorite opponent- Danny Ings has 5 goals in 6 games against Aston Villa- The most he has against any opponent in Premier League
  • 7 goals and 3 assists in just 13 starts this season

Sadio Mane vs West Ham(A), TSB: 7.0%

Sadio Mane FPL GW21 Differential
Mane back to form with 2 assists, 1 goal vs Spurs

Liverpool finally put the ball past the line against Spurs in FPL GW20 after being unable to score a goal in the previous 4 games. Thanks to Sadio Mane who had 7 shots inside the box, 3 big chances to get a goal, 2 assist and 15 points against Spurs. Mane has better numbers compared to Salah and Firmino(over the past 5 games) and could be the perfect differential with Liverpool beginning to convert their big chances.

Mane vs Firmino vs Salah stats from GW15- GW20:

  • Shots- 19 vs 19 vs 13
  • Shots on Target- 6 vs 6 vs 2
  • Shots inside the box- 18 vs 16 vs 10
  • Big chances- 5 vs 4 vs 3
  • xG- 2.91 vs 2.51 vs 1.51
  • Goals- 2 vs 1 vs 0
  • xA- 2.09 vs 1.25 vs 1.06
  • Big chances created- 2 vs 1 vs 1
  • Points- 34 vs 16 vs 13

James Rodriguez vs Newcastle(H), TSB: 8.6%

Rodriguez FPL
James Rodriguez

With the good run of fixtures incoming for Everton it is time to go back to another injury comeback man in James Rodriguez. Everton have been a great attacking side when DCL, Richarlison, Rodriguez and Digne played together. They have in fact not lost a game when all of them have played together. Rodriguez would love to add to his amazing numbers against a poor Newcastle defense this season- 4 goals, 3 assists, 8 big chances created, xA- 4.44, getting 4.91 points/game from just 12 starts.

Key numbers:

  • Newcastle have conceded most big chances(20), 2nd most shots inside the box(62), second worst xGC(12.37) since GW15.
  • Rodriguez has the 4th best xA/90(0.38), 3rd best Big chances created/90(0.69) among midfielders this season(Min 1000 mins)- Only behind Bruno, KDB and Grealish.
