FPL GW10 Differential picks to consider ahead of GW10 Deadline | ALLABOUTFPL

FPL GW24-Dias

The next game week is around the corner and looking ahead to GW10, Man City begin a run of amazing fixtures, Leicester too have a good run of games up next. Few teams including the likes of Man Utd are hitting form as well and it should prove to be a good move if we get in few lowly owned assets from these teams to quickly climb up the rankings. So let’s deep dive and look at the top differential options!

As usual, our differential article has five players with all of them having less than 10% ownership and have a high chance of returning for that particular GW and beyond. Check out our top differential options for FPL GW10 below!

Note: All player ownership & price are from the data at the time of writing, subject to change as we move close to the FPL GW10 deadline

FPL GW 10 Differential picks

1. Raheem Sterling vs Burnley (H) £11.5 Mil TSB: 4.6%

Raheem Sterling FPL GW10 Differential pick
Raheem could hit form soon

Raheem Sterling has been largely disappointing so far this season. After finishing the post restart period with the most goals, City and Sterling could not carry the same form into the new season. Sterling has scored just two goals and one assist so far this season and has blanked the last 4 games. But Man City enjoy a great fixture run starting with a GW10 fixture against Burnley.

Man City has scored a remarkable 22 goals in the last five games against the clarets and have conceded just one goal. We all know how explosive Raheem and Man city can be once they hit form and with a full-strength squad to choose from City will look to hit their attacking gear soon!

Man City have accumulated an xG of 8.95 in the last five games which is the fourth highest but have scored just four goals(5th lowest)

Sterling looked impressive in the CL game vs Olympiacos registering two shots on target, three key passes, one big chance and an assist for the only goal of the game. He was subbed early as well which in likelihood seals his place in the starting lineup against Burnley.

2. Alex Telles vs Southampton (A) £5.5 Mil TSB: 1.4%

Alex Telles FPL GW10
Alex Telles has created the most chances (7) for Man Utd in the CL

Alex Telles has been a great addition to the Man Utd defense this season. The Brazilian fullback has added a much-needed dimension to the attack with his advanced play. Telles made his PL debut against WBA and kept a CS on debut.

He registered 26 final third passes (third highest amongst defenders in GW9) and attempted 7 crosses (second highest amongst defenders in GW9). He continued his form in the Champions League game vs. İstanbul Başakşehir with 11 crosses attempted, 4 crosses completed and 4 chances created (Highest of the game). He also played a very advanced role and Telles average position in the game was bettered only by Rashford. We expect Telles to come good in the coming weeks both defensively and offensively.

Over the last five weeks, Manchester united have slowly improved their defense. Man Utd have conceded the least shots(34), least shots on target(10), least big chances(3), and the lowest number of goals(3). Quite impressive as they have faced Chelsea, Arsenal, and Everton in this period.

3. Marcus Rashford vs Southampton (A) £9.5 Mil TSB: 7.3%

Marcus Rashford FPL GW10
Main Man Marcus

When it comes to Man United the entire spotlight has rightly fallen on Bruno Fernandes who has been simply unstoppable so far this season. Marcus too has been having a decent campaign so far this season with two goals and three assists so far this season registering 38 FPL points. Man Utd face Southampton and West Ham away from home next and with the United attack finally looking consistency with a string of good performances it would be a good move to bring in Marcus for GW10.

4. Harvey Barnes vs Fulham (H) £6.9 Mil TSB: 3.8%

Harvey Barnes FPL GW10

Barnes has always been not a consistent performer in FPL. But, these are kind of players who you should own over a certain period of time with some good fixtures ahead. Leicester play Fulham, Sheffield and Brighton in the next 3 games. With Maddison also slowly getting back to his old self, Leicester would be among the goals in the next few games surely. Barnes is the perfect budget midfielder if you are looking for a three-week punt with just 3.8% TSB.

Barnes in numbers:

  • Best xG/90 among mids from GW7-GW9(Minimum 150 minutes)- 1.02
  • Best big chances/90 among midfielders from GW7-GW9(Minimum 150 mins)- 1.79
  • Up against Fulham who have conceded the most big chances(23) this season.

5. Ruben Dias vs Burnley (H) £5.5 Mil TSB: 2.1%

Ruben Dias FPL GW10
Ruben Dias has the least rotation risk out of all city defenders

There have been too many doubts about City attack this season, but City defense have been on track this season with the signing of Dias. City have conceded just 5 big chances(3rd best), 34 shots(1st), 17 shots in the box(1st) and have conceded just 4 goals(2nd best) from GW5- GW9. Cancelo has been the main FPL man from City defense. But with Zinchenko and Mendy full fit, hey may well be rested for a game or two in the upcoming weeks, whereas Dias is a safer option.

Dias in numbers:

  • Up against Burnley who have the second worst xG(7.51), second worst among big chances(10), least shots inside the box(41) this season.
  • Great fixtures- Burnley(H), Fulham(H), United(A), West Brom(H), Southampton(A), Newcastle(H). Expect at least 3-4 CS in the next 6 games.

6. Patrick Van Aanholt vs Newcastle(A) £5.4 Mil TSB: 0.8%

Patrick Van Aanholt FPL GW10
PVA could be a great differential option for the next three weeks

Having missed the start of the season, PVA has returned from injury and has since replaced Mitchell at RB since GW7. Over the last three GWs Van Aanholt has got an assist, recorded 6 shots(2nd), 2 on target(2nd), and four shots inside the box(2nd) among defenders.

He has also made nine penalty box touches(3rd highest) over the last three games. PVA ranks third for shots on target(3) for defenders having played just 288 minutes of league football.

Crystal Palace have some great fixtures lined up with Newcastle and West Brom over the next two GW’s. The attacking appeal combined with the clean sheet potential makes him a great differential defender to consider for the next two GWs.
