It’s the end of the international break finally and we got reports of the regular injuries that take place in breaks but this year, we got a lot of COVID positive cases with the players in the international teams. All this will really hamper our FPL teams and we should be very careful with team selection. This is where getting your captain’s choice right matters as the double multiplier can play right into our hands and score some useful points for us managers. Let’s look at our Top 5 FPL GW 5 captains for this week!
FPL GW 5 Captaincy Poll from our twitter page:
FPL GW 5 Captain Picks:
1. Son vs West Ham (H) TSB 30.5%
Spurs’s South Korean talisman is the highest-scoring midfielder up until now and along with his attack partner Kane, has been in fiery form. With 6 goals and 1 assist from 4 games he has been unstoppable and him not having an international break is the biggest advantage to give the armband to. He’s the highest-scoring player in FPL this season scoring 44 points in just 4 games!
He has far exceeded his xG of 2.96 by scoring 6 goals in total and plays the furthest in the Spurs team. With the possible addition of Gareth Bale to the playing 11 spurs will add more fire power to the spurs forward line.
Son in Numbers
1. He has 7 shots on target from 10 shots from which he has scored 6 goals. These are insane numbers. Considering two of the other three off-target goals struck the post against Newcastle.
2. In 24 Premier League games since Mourinho took over, Son has registered 14 goals and 8 assists. Averaging almost a goal or assist every game
3. Although West Ham have the least amount of shots conceded in the PL with 7, Son time again has proved how lethal he can be and just a chance on goal and the spurs attacker will do the damage.

2. Jamie Vardy vs Aston Villa (H) TSB 26%
Last season golden boot Winner Jamie Vardy has gotten off to a decent start this season with his Leicester team looking a bit shaky at times. He has 5 goals to his name in 4 matches with a hattrick against Man city and a brace in the opener against West Brom but failed to score against a 4-2 win against Burnley or a 0-3 mauling by West Ham. The numbers will hopefully turn because we know what Vardy can do
He has an xG per 90mins of 0.96 which is a crazy number. Aston Villa had a huge victory over Liverpool but Vardy and Co can test their defense as Praet can be back and new signing Under can also add some attacking firepower. This will be a good chance for Leicester to go to 2nd on the table and they’ll try to take it.
Jamie Vardy Numbers:
1. His non-penalty xG is 0.79, which is great, and considering he’s on pens for Leicester, he can bring in some returns.
2. Leicester defeated Aston Villa 4-0 and 4-1 last season and Jamie Vardy bagged a brace each time registering 11, 13 points respectively. A repeat of the same?
2. Along With spurs and Everton, Leicester have scored the most number of goals in the league till now with an xG of 8.22. Villa will be concerned definitely.

3. Jimenez vs Leeds (A) TSB 22.0%
The Mexican striker has not gotten off to a good start to the season despite scoring in the first 2 games, at least by his standards. Wolves have struggled to find some form but with some good transfers, they can finally get into good shape.
He faces Leeds away and has an xG of 2.1 but the comforting news is Leeds aren’t very sound defensively and Wolves will take this opportunity full-on. Leeds gave conceded the most shots in the PL and this will be a weak point for them and a chance for Jimenez to shine.
Raul Jimenez Numbers:
1. Leeds have conceded 73 shots in 4 games which is a huge number.
2. Jiminez is also on penalties for Wolves and will add on to his non-penalty xG of 2.1.
3. Raul loves to score away from home and recorded 9 goals away last season one more than he scored all season at home.

4. Mo Salah vs Everton (A) TSB 43.9%
The second-highest scoring midfielder up to now this season has had a good start to this season. He has 5 goals and 1 assist to his name which includes a brace in the extremely disastrous 2-7 loss Against Aston Villa.
With Mane in contention to play, they will look to go back to winning ways and increase their morale and the Merseyside derby away will give them a good chance. This is a great chance for Salah to capitalize on his form and score goals.

Salah and Liverpool in Numbers
1. Liverpool are the team with most shots and shots on target in the PL up until now with 75 and 28 respectively.
2. Salah has registered 19 shots on goal, 15 inside the box, 7 shots on target with four big chances with an xG of 3.23 to his record this season. He’s also doing well in creating chances having made 14 key passes and creating three big chances so far this season.
Salah is on Penalties and has contributed to 7 shots on target of which he’s scored 5. These are very good numbers

5. Dominic Calvert Lewin vs Liverpool (H) TSB 48.8%
This man looks like a whole new player this season and has been in form since the beginning of the on. He’s scored in all the 4 games he’s played in and that includes a hattrick too. He is tied with son for the est number of goals scored with 6 and he doesn’t look like he’ll stop soon
Liverpool haven’t been their best but we know how good they are when they get in form, but if any goals come from Everton, there’s a lot of chance it’ll come from this man
DCL in Numbers:
1. He has scored 6 goals with an xG of 3.39. This shows how lethal he is with his chances
2. He has scored 3 goals from 5 headers and his 6 goals have come from just 9 shots on target
3. Liverpool have conceded 11 goals but their xG of goals conceded is just 6.68. This shows they are nowhere near their form and Everton can take all their chances
4. Liverpool conceded 109 shots on target from 38 games last season averaging 2.86 SOT conceded per game. So far this season, they have conceded 20 SOT from 4 just 4 games averaging 5.0 SOT conceded per game.
