If you’re reading this then probably you’re as excited as for the new season which is within striking distance. We at allaboutfpl.com have grown substantially over the last year and this is our second season of covering FPL and we have assembled a stunning lineup of resident writers who’ll be covering FPL content this season. In order to make it even more fun, we’ll be picking up an ALLABOUTFPL Scout Team every game week this season. Here’s our FPL GW 1 Scout Team
How is the ALLABOUTFPL Scout Team picked?
The team will be picked with a budget of a 100 Mil budget every week and will be filled with players who are expected to score the maximum points for that particular FPL Game Week. The main focus will be on the starting 11 and the bench will be filled with minimum value bench fodder players. Every week the ALLABOUTFPL Scout Team will have a captain pick as well. Basically, in simple words, it’s a Free Hit team every week that will be selected by our Team of Elite Writers.
Who are the writers that will be picking the ALLABOUTFPL Scout Team?
We have assembled a seven-member resident writers team who are the best in the business. The writers are also competing in a mini-league and the league’s scoring will be updated every week along with the previous week’s Dream team performance and points scored. Here’s the seven-member writer’s team.
ALLABOUTFPL GW1 Scout Team
For the first ALLABOUTFPL GW1 Dream Team, we have gone with a 3-4-3 formation with a 4.0 Mil keeper, two 4.0 Mil defenders, one 4.5 Midfielder, and a Striker making the bench. The main team is selected from a budget of 79 Mil.
ALLABOUTFPL Scout Team: Goalkeeper
There’s no better GK option for GW1 than McCarthy. McCarthy started every match from GW12 onwards in 19/20. He claimed 7 shut-outs from that point. Only 8 GKPs surpassed that tally and all of them are priced at £5.0m or more. McCarthy’s total of 79 saves ranked 8th in that period, highlighting his multiple routes to points. Crystal Palace scored the least amount of home goals (15) last season making him the GK of our first-ever Scout Team.

ALLABOUTFPL Scout Team: Defenders
The writers have gone with a three-man defense after some intense discussion last night. Trent Alexander Arnold vs Leeds United (H) £7.5 Mil is our first defender option. TAA registered 4 goals and a whopping 15 assists last season, scoring a whopping 210 FPL points making him the fourth-highest scoring player in FPL along with Vardy (210) last season. He’s up against a newly promoted Leeds side making him an option that we cannot simply leave behind.
Vinagre (£4.5 Mil) and Justin (£4.5 Mil) complete the defense, With Johnny out injured for 6 months and new signing Marcal not expected to start right away the 21-year-old becomes nailed on for the attacking wingback role in a defensively solid Wolves. After the restart Wolves had one if not the best defense in the league.
Wolves Defense after restart Cleansheets: 5 (2nd) Goals conceded: 6 (2nd) xGC: 6.4 (1st) Big Chances Conceded: 6 (1st) Least Shots conceded in box: 49 (1st)
James Justin (£4.5 Mil) is guaranteed to start as Ricardo Pereira is still recovering from a serious injury. The Leicester full-back is known to attack and we could expect him to get a CS and an attacking return against a newly promoted West Brom side. The defense looks sorted as we move onto the midfielders.

ALLABOUTFPL Scout Team: Midfielders
The writers have gone heavy in the midfield with some amazing options chosen by the writers. Mo Salah (£12.0 Mil) is our first midfield option and our captain he’s up against a newly promoted Leeds side at Anfield. Salah scored 15 goals and made 4 assists at Anfield last season and is expected to open his scoring for the 20/21 against Leeds. Salah has scored in each of the last three opening game weeks in PL for Liverpool.
Salah is followed by another premium midfielder Aubameyang (£12.0 Mil), Auba is currently sitting in close to 45% teams and is up against a Fulham side that conceded the most goals the last time they were in PL and that defense hasn’t improved much as well. Last season Auba scored 9 of his 22 goals away from home which is again a very good number. We fully expect Aubameyang to grab a couple against Fulham.
Heung Min Son (£9.0 Mil) is our third premium midfielder option, son scored 11 goals and made nine assists last season and looked good in pre-season scoring five goals for spurs. ASM makes our fourth midfielder option, ASM is up against a WHU side that has conceded the most big chances(103) in PL last season.
Saint-Maximin(£5.5 Mil) was Newcastle’s most creative player in 19/20. He was their top assister and big chance creator, despite missing 11 games through injury. Between GW 23-38, Saint-Maximin achieved the most goal involvements for the Magpies, with 2G & 4A. Now with the addition of Wilson and Fraser, the appeal of ASM is even higher and we expect him to be amongst the goals against WHU come GW1.

ALLABOUTFPL Scout Team: Forwards
Timo Werner(£9.5 Mil) is the second-highest owned player in FPL currently with 48% managers owning the Chelsea forward. Werner scored 28 goals and set up 8 assists last season for Leipzig. Werner also comfortably outperforms other PL forwards for NPxG, Big chances per 90 and Key passes per 90. He had a Goal involvement percentage of (44.4%) only Vardy (44.8%) had more. Werner scored in the friendly against Brighton and was on the score sheet against Spain on international duty.
Danny Ings(£8.5 Mil) is our second striker, ings had a phenomenal 2019/20 season scoring 22 goals just one shy of golden boot winner Jamie Vardy. He’s Southampton’s talisman and is expected to do the bulk of the scoring and now with competition from Che Adams, he’ll be even more motivated. Ings scored 12 of his goals away from home last season and faces a palace side who’s defense is ravaged by injuries at Selhurst Park. Palace were also the third-worst defense in PL post restart conceding 18 goals, only Norwich and Watford conceded more and both of them are not there in PL.
Eddie Nketiah (£6.0 Mil) will conclude our dream team with the arsenal youngster expected to start ahead lacazette and we expect him to be amongst the goals.
