One of the most difficult things to do when we have unlimited transfers at our disposal is to get the team right. But, you guys need not worry about that as we at ALLABOUTFPL are here to provide you the best advice possible. In this blog, we’ve listed down the best FPL midfielders to consider before the season kicks off once more!
FPL midfielders to consider of GW30+ Deadline
Premium FPL Midfielders
1. Kevin De Bruyne TSB- 46.4%, Price- 10.6
Fixtures: Arsenal(H), Burnely(H), Chelsea(A), Liverpool(H), Southampton(A)
Manchester City have a double gameweek coming up to kick things off in GW30+. Kevin De Bruyne is a must have in your teams. The Belgian is the second highest scoring player in FPL, after Mo Salah.
KDB has already registered 8 goals and 18 assists this season, 23 bonus points to go along with. Man City do have some tricky fixtures coming up, however KDB is nailed on to start most games, in the form he is in he can rack up points against any side.
A trip down memory lane:
Remember the last time City faced Arsenal, in GW17? KDB was among the most transferred out players at the time and we at allaboutfpl had warned you guys to stick with him, but you guys twisted and he ended up getting a staggering 19 points.
So, this time make sure you place KDB as one of your FPL midfielders without any doubts whatsoever.
2. Raheem Sterling TSB- 15.7%, Price-11.7
Fixtures: Arsenal(H), Burnely(H), Chelsea(A), Liverpool(H), Southampton(A)
Because of Man City’s double gameweek, it is definitely worth doubling up, if not tripling up on their attack. Raheem Sterling is one you should consider bringing in. Sterling by his standards has not been at his best this season. But he has still got himself 11 goals and 2 assists this season.
The Englishman has now fully recovered from injury and will be looking to match if not better last season’s tally of 17 goals.
It is definitely a risk picking him as one of your FPL midfielders, but given Sterling’s performances over the last couple of years, it is a risk worth taking.
3. Son Heung Min TSB- 4.7%, Price-9.7
Fixtures: Man Utd(H), WestHam(H), Sheffield Utd(A), Everton(H), Bournemouth (A)
Son, much like Sterling was another one of those FPL midfielders who injured himself a few weeks before the break. Prior to his injury, however, Son was bang in form, he scored 5 goals in 3 games.
Son is a player who is likely to start every game for Spurs from now up and till the end of the season. Now that even Kane is fit, Son would certainly benefit from that and would look to continue his rich vein of form
Moreover, Spurs have an excellent set of fixtures for the rest of the season. From GW31+ onward, every single one of their games have a FDR or either 2 or 3.
Mid-range FPL midfielders
1. Riyad Mahrez TSB- 9.6% Price-8.5
If you can’t afford to have both Sterling and KDB, then Mahrez is your best bet. With Mahrez, there is always a doubt whether or not he is going to start. That said, when Mahrez starts he makes an impact. In fact Mahrez has a goal or an assist every 81 minutes, that tally is even better than KDB’s tally(83). Staggering.
The above stat is a very important stat considering the fact ManCity have a double gameweek coming up. So, even if Mahrez starts only game and plays a little bit of the other, he is likely to get more points when compared to others who have only one fixture.
Pro Tip: Both Sterling and Sane are coming back from injuries, so they are likely to be rotated more than Mahrez. As a result of which, the Algerian could be the differential you need in your sides.

2. Bruno Fernandes TSB -17.1% Price-8.6
Fixtures: Spurs(A), Sheffield Utd(H), Brighton(A), Bournemouth(H), Aston Villa(A)
We have been screaming out for you guys to pick Bruno Fernandes as one of your FPL midfielders right from the outset. He is by far the best option in midfield. So, without wasting anymore time, go ahead and put him into your teams.
Just to convince all the doubters
- Bruno Fernandes has recorded 2 goals and 3 assists in his five appearances already. He has also recorded 6 bonus points in that time.
- The Manchester United midfielders has registered 7.6 points per game, which is more than any other player in FPL.
- He has already recorded 7 shots on target, apart from hitting the woodwork once.
Icing on the cake
Manchester United post GW 30+ do not have any fixture with a FDR of above 3. Furthermore, Bruno is the vital cog in the United team, so he is likely to play a vast majority of minutes every game.
3. Richarlison TSB-12% price-8.3
Fixtures: Liverpool(H), Norwich(A), Leicester(H), Spurs(A), Southampton(H)
Richarlison is the fourth highest scoring player among FPL midfielders this season, with 133 points. The Brazilian has already amassed 10 goals and 5 assists this season.
The Everton midfielder tends to do well against the ‘traditional Big 6’ sides. To put things in perspective he has already scored against Liverpool, ManCity, Arsenal and Chelsea this season. He has also scored 3 goals in games against Wolves and Leicester combined.
Given the fact that Everton have some tough games coming up, Richarlison would once again look to thrive in these games.
Quick stat: Richarlison has a goal threat of 1025, only two other midfielders have a bigger score (Salah and Sterling).

Budget FPL midfielders
1. Harvey Barnes TSB- 4.2% Price- 6.2
Fixtures: Watford(A), Brighton(H), Everton(A), Crystal Palace(H), Arsenal(A)
Among all FPL midfielders from Leicester, Harvey Barnes is the best possible option. Barnes has scored 6 goals this season. But here is the catch, 5 of them have come in the last seven games. He has had 8 shots on goal in the last two matches.
Barnes is the best goal threat apart from Vardy in the Leicester side. To put it in numbers, Barnes has a score of 745 in threat, second only to Vardy(958). In fact, among FPL midfielders who cost less than 8 million, only three other players have a bigger score. Two of them( Zaha and Mount) have played significantly a higher amount of minutes when compared to Barnes.
Here is another frightening stat
Barnes has a goal or an assist every 121 minutes, which is the best among the budget FPL midfielders. Furthermore, that number is better than even the likes of Sterling, Pepe and Grealish.
Pro Tip: If you are looking to bring in a midfielder from Leicester, Harvey Barnes should be your choice, ahead of the likes of Perez, Maddison and Tielemens.

2. Jack Grealish TSB-21.9% Price-6.4
Fixtures: Sheffield United(H), Chelsea(H), Newcastle(A), Wolves(H), Liverpool(A)
The Aston Villa captain has single handedly carried his club this season. Grealish has been involved in 41% of Villa’s goals this campaign. He has 7 assists and 7 goals already and 15 bonus points to go with it.
Aston Villa sit 19th in the league table, but despite that Grealish has created 69 chances this season. That is the fourth highest among FPL midfielders this season. Quite an astonishing feat.
Aston have a double gameweek coming up in GW 30+, Grealish is all but guaranteed to start both games, as a result of which he does fall in the must have category.
Interestingly, 17 of Aston Villa’s 25 points in the league have come at Villa Park. Given the fact that 3 of the Villains’ next 4 fixtures are at home, now is the best time to own an asset or two from the midlands side.

3. Adama Traore TSB-6.8% Price- 5.7
Fixtures: WestHam(A), Bournemouth(H), Aston Villa(A), Arsenal(H), Sheffield Utd(A)
Adama Traore has enjoyed his best campaign in the Premier League this season. He has already registered 4 goals and 7 assists for Wolves.
Adama Traore has 21.6 points per million this season, only Lord Lundstram and TAA can better that.
Wolves have an amazing run of games coming up, they don’t have any fixture with FDR of above 3 until the final weekend of the season. Traore might just be the third asset you are looking for from Nuno’s men.

Author’s pick: Alex Oxlade- Chamberlain
If you had noticed, you would have seen that there is no Liverpool player on our list. That is because they are on the verge of winning the league and Klopp hinted that he might give his squad players a chance.
That means a lot of differential options from an FPL point of view. One such option is Oxlade Chamberlain. He has scored 3 goals this season, 2 of them in his last 5 starts. It did seem as though the Ox was returning back to his best prior to the break, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him carry on that momentum from now up and till the end of the season.
