FPL Gameweek 17 Captain picks

Sadio Mane

Gameweek 17 kicks off with Liverpool welcoming Watford who are placed at either ends of the PL table. That does not make the captain choices easy for this week. Chelsea and Leicester are at home to struggling Bournemouth and Norwich which makes a case for Tammy and Vardy to be on the scoresheet. Liverpool also have a blank fixture on GW 18, which means that you could save up your transfer for GW 18. Here are our FPL tips and gameweek 17 Captain Picks.

1. Sadio Mane vs Watford(H) :

Sadio Mane
No stopping Sadio Mane and Liverpool

Liverpool look like they are never settling down and Klopp has already started to rotate his squad around for the tough December that is coming. Mane has been in great form and was rested for the previous encounter against Bournemouth but is likely to start against Watford. He’s already the 2nd highest scoring player in the game and has an impressive tally of 9 goals and 6 assists. Though Watford have improved, Liverpool aren’t going to settle for anything lesser than a win and will be counting on Mane to deliver.

2. Kevin De Bruyne vs Arsenal(A):

fpl tips De Bruyne
Stop removing me from your team 🙂

He has had only 2 goals and 1 assist in the last 8 games but FPL is not always about statistics. He has easily been the best player on the pitch for City in their rare slump of form. But with Jesus netting a hattrick in the champions league match in mid-week,KDB can rely on someone to finish his otherworldly passes and crosses. Arsenal are the best opponents Pep can imagine to boost confidence for his squad. Surprisingly Kevin De Bruyne is the most Transferred OUTplayer for this Gameweek. He could well prove to be your differential pick for the captain.

3. Harry Kane vs Wolves(A):

Harry Kane

Spurs look to have been rejuvenated under Jose Mourinho and Jose has seamlessly fit Kane, Alli, Son and Moura in his attack and all are benefitting from everybody. Son and Kane look like the main goal threat in the squad and they will definitely want to be ahead of Wolves from the very minute. Kane through the centre looks the most dangerous and is a very reliable choice for captaincy.

4. Vardy vs Norwich(H):

fpl tips Vardy
Jamie Vardy

This man has been something else this season. No one would’ve thought Leicester to be where they are now and Vardy’s numbers to be that high. He’s scored in the last 8 games and has amassed 11 goals and 3 assist in the same period! Even if he doesn’t return much, he’s a good choice for captain as he’ll be capped by majority of managers. And with Norwich being weak defensively, Vardy being the captain is almost a no-brainer.

5. Tammy Abraham vs Bournemouth (A):

fpl tips Abraham
Tammy Abraham

Chelsea haven’t been finding the rhythm of late but they are still giving their everything on the pitch. Tammy has been involved a lot in their attack and Frank Lampard’s men will definitely look to take advantage of the weak defence of Bournemouth. Tammy has posted really good numbers with 11 goals and 3 assist and will look to add to his tally.
