GW32+ is not yet over with spurs vs sheffield and Man city vs Liverpool left to be completed. But there is just 36 hours between the last game of GW32+ and FPL GW33+ deadline. A lot of managers who played their Free hit in GW31+ have their wildcard left and using it ahead of GW33+ seems to be the best option, holding WC even further doesn’t make any sense as we edge closer to the end of the season. In this blog, we’ll be covering the best possible team to choose for the rest of the season by using the wildcard.
Goalkeepers to consider if you’re playing wildcard in FPL GW33+
The goalkeeper choice is fair enough straight forward option. Nick pope has to be the best option the Burnley Goalkeeper has recorded the highest points(147) for a GK this season.
Pope(£5.0M) has also registered the most clean sheets(13) and maximum bonus points for a GK(22). Burnley have a pretty decent run of fixtures from GW33+ till the end of the season. Since there are only six games left to consider you’ll be better off having Button(£3.9M) as your second keeper for the remainder of the season which will save you funds to invest elsewhere.
Defenders to consider if you’re playing wildcard in FPL GW33+
Aaron Wan Bissaka (£5.4M) has to be one of the inform defenders since the season restart, the united full back has recorded 23 points in the last 3 games with 2 Clean sheets, 2 Assists and 3 bonus points.
Manchester United have registered 6 CS in the last 8 games and also only Liverpool (7) have conceded fewer Premier League goals in 2020 than Manchester United (8). Man Utd have the easiest set of fixtures out of all PL teams with no game having an FDR of more than 3 until the end of the season, making AWB a must-own defensive pick.
Trent Alexander Arnold(£7.8M), owned by 43% of managers TAA has been in splendid form this season having registered 187 points with 17 attacking returns(3G+14A). Now with Joel Matip injured, joe Gomez who seemed to be the likely replacement is most likely to partner VVD in defense, meaning rotation is less likely and we expect TAA to end the season on a high.
Wolves defender is a must-have and Willy Boly(£4.8M) is definitely the one to consider from wolves defense. Wolves have kept 7 clean sheets in the last 8 games since Boly returned from injury and have won all three games since the season restart without conceding. Now with a great run of fixtures, a wolves defender is hard to ignore and Boly seems to be the right pick.
If you are looking for an alternative/Doubling up on wolves defense Matt Doherty(£6.4M) & Saiss (£4.7M) are good options to consider. Doherty has registered three double-digit hauls in the last six games Saiss has escaped a two-game suspension for accumulating 10 YC as the threshold as now been increased to 15 YC’s.
Serge Aurier(£4.9M) registered a CS against West Ham and has recorded 7 assists in PL this season. The only other defender to has registered more assists this season is TAA. Spurs have an amazing run of fixtures until the end of the season with none of their fixtures above 3 in FDR. Coming in at 4.9 Mil he is one of the most explosive full-backs in that price range. A combination of CS possibility and attacking returns makes him a must-own.
Lascelles(£4.3M) has been a solid presence in Newcastle defenses so far this season. Magpies have managed to keep 10 clean sheets this season 8 of which have come under Lascelles’s start. At 4.3 Mil you simply cannot find a better fit as a bench fodder defender who starts week in week out.
Midfielders to consider if you’re playing wildcard in FPL GW33+
Mohamed Salah(£12.7M) Liverpool have won the league, but salah will be looking to add to his 17 goals scored so far this season to try and win the golden boot which he had missed out last season. Up against a relegation-threatened Villa side in GW33+ at home salah is an asset too hard to ignore at the moment.
Kevin De Bruyne(£10.7M) is the highest-scoring FPL player(201) this season crossing the 200 points mark in GW31+. The Belgian has been directly involved in 27 Premier League goals so far this season, more than any other player in the competition. Now with Aguero injured, KDB is on penalty duty as well making him a must-have for the remainder of the season.
Bruno Fernandes(£8.6M) has registered eight attacking returns(5G+3A) in as many appearances so far this season. Bruno is averaging 4.17 per 90 mins since the season restart, more than any other united asset. Bruno is also on set-piece and penalty duty making him a must-own player for the remainder of the season.
Allan Saint-Maximin (£5.1M) has scored two goals and provided 3 assists over the last four GW’s registering a total of 37 points, averaging more than 9 PPM. ASM also tops the charts for the most big chances created since the season restart and he’s up against WHU in FPL GW33 and the prospects of another monster haul look highly likely. He could be a very good differential having been owned by just 1.7% of FPL managers.
Phil Foden (£5.2M) owned by just 1.4% of the managers, Foden caught all of us by surprise in DGW30+ scoring 3 goals becoming the highest-scoring(22) FPL player in DGW30+. Man city play the next four games with just 3 days in between each of them and rotation will be rife. We expect Foden to start at least 2 of the four and make substitute appearances in the other two giving him ample time to score and produce FPL points for managers.
Strikers to consider if you’re playing wildcard in FPL GW33+
Kane is back from injury and is showing signs of his older self. The Spurs forward had three big chances against the hammers and scored his first goal since January from the penalty box. Spurs have an amazing run of fixtures until the end of the season with none of their fixtures above 3 in FDR and the prospects of the spurs forward going ballistic are very high.
Raul Jimenez (£8.2M) is surely an auto-pick. The Wolves forward is the second-highest scoring forward in FPL with 166 points just six off Jamie Vardy. Jimenez has already been involved in 21 goals(15 goals and 6 assists) this season, including 25 bonus points. The wolves forward is very consistent too having returned 4 times in the last six-game weeks.
Mason Greenwood (£4.3M) has been phenomenal for united this season becoming an integral part of Man Utd’s first team. Greenwood was outstanding against Brighton scoring a goal, setting up Bruno for another goal, taking home 3 bonus points for a mega 13 point haul. Although he played 90 minutes against Brighton, he is expected to start as his replacement Dan James has been really poor with the welsh winger last scoring in PL back in GW4.
