FPL Digest: Hot shots from Gameweek 29

“Better than last week”- is probably the answer one would give if he were asked how Gameweek 29 is going. But, given how bad last week was, this matchday was always only gonna go upwards. Nonetheless, lets dissect what we’ve seen so far after a riveting Saturday’s action!

Liverpool get away with one

Sadio Mane
A goal and an assist for Mane

Truth be told, if Bournemouth had not gifted Liverpool two goals, this game could have gone differently. Both Sadio Mane and Mo Salah delivered for us managers. Salah now has 14 goals at home and he has now scored in all 6 of his games against the Cherries. On the flip side though, Liverpool’s defense looked shaky and it would be right to get rid of their defenders if you’re planning to Free Hit in GW 31.

Keep an eye on the Cherries

Ake could deliver big hauls in coming weeks.

Edie Howe’s side are a very strange side. They pick up points in clusters. The last two performances against Liverpool and Chelsea suggests that the next cluster may not be that far away. The South- coast side have three winnable games coming up, including a fixture in GW31. So now is the right time to get in Bournemouth players.

In Gameweek 29 Nathan Ake was Bournemouth’s biggest goal threat. He could have scored twice were it not for some heroics from Adrian. Incidentally, more than 50% of Bournemouth’s goals have come from set plays. So, don’t think twice about bringing him in.

Fixtures: Crystal Palace(H), Wolves(A), Newcastle(H)

Sharp Blades

Lundstram FPL bonus points
He’s back

Sheffield United’s defense is a gift that keeps on giving. They’ve now kept 10 clean sheets this season, which is the second best tally in the league. In Gameweek 29 against Norwich, Billy Sharp his second goal at home in as many games. But it was the return of Lord Lundstram that caught everyone’s eye. After being benched for 3 games, the defender- midfielder produced the assist for the winning goal against the Canaries. All hail Lord Lundstram !

Now, Chris Wilder’s men do blank in GW 31 and also have some tricky fixtures coming up. But our suggestion would be to hang to their assets, especially the defenders.

Hammers gunner-ed

Another gem from HullCity

We’re not sure how Arsenal managed to beat WestHam in Gameweek 29. The Hammers could have or probably should have won this game by 3 or 4 goals. That’s no exaggeration. Jarrod Bowen was the stand out player on the pitch. The new recruit hit the post, also created two clear chances for his teammates. He is definitely one to keep an eye on, especially considering the fact that David Moyes’ men play in GW31.

Dele-ghtful recovery

It was a tale of two halves at Turf Moor as Burney and Spurs shared the spoils in their Gameweek 29 fixture.

Burnley dominated the first half and Chris Wood– one of our differential picks for Gameweek 29 scored the goal for them. That was his 11th goal of the season- his best tally.

Their Opponents produced a game second half performance to salvage a point. Dele Alli scored the equalizer from the penalty spot. He is playing better since being moved into the forward role. Since the change of position, the midfielder has a goal and two assists in 2 matches. He is another one who has a fixture in GW 31, definitely worth considering him in our sides.
