Goalkeepers to Target on FPL GW6 Wildcard
Raya (5.5m)

Raya is the easiest route into that Arsenal defence. Among the premium options in that spot, he is Mr. Reliable and will tick over consistently – regardless of their fixtures. However, its an essential Arsenal spot spend on GK. Some managers might opt for upside in the outfield players.
Petrovic (4.5m)

Among the cheapest options, Petrovic offers incredible value. He could be one of the highest scoring keepers at season’s end. Bournemouth only face two ‘4 rated’ opponents in their FDR all the way up until GW18 – MCI (A) & AVL (A) in GW10 & GW11. He is averaging 2.25 saves per 90 this season (around 52 percentile among keepers in the PL). As expected before the start of the season, he is Long ball accuracy and distribution is top notch – delivering 8 accurate long balls per 90 with an accuracy of 42%.
Donnarumma (5.5m)

He displayed brilliant performances in City’s past games against United & Arsenal, making crucial saves to keep his side in matches. Could be a nice set & forget option with hopes of accumulating save points as well as the occasional clean sheet bonus.

Vicario (5.1m)

The Spurs GK is another great option at the mid-priced bracket. Obviously, he doesn’t provide the comfort that the likes of Raya or Donnarumma would offer – however, with Spurs’ fixture run looking attractive over the long run, he could be the one to go for. His shot-stopping ability and distribution have impressed, and he could also allow that extra 0.5m to be spent on outfield players where the real points are made.
Defenders to Target on FPL GW6 Wildcard
Gabriel (6.1m)

The Brazilian CB has not appeared in the headlines so far – with other Arsenal defenders’ hauls overshadowing his performances. However, he is gradually making his way into form and showing the defensive solidity we expect from Arsenal. His aerial threat from set-pieces can’t go unnoticed, especially with Arsenal’s improved corner routines this season. They face West Ham in GW7 – a team known for their abysmal defensive quality from corners and set-pieces. The fixtures favour the man and should cement the first spot on any GW6 Wildcard draft.
Tarkowski (5.5m)

Next up would be the Evertonian CB – Tarkowski. One of the few players to hit DefCon in all 5 games so far, showcasing remarkable consistency in his defensive contributions. Last season, he had the highest threshold crossings (~70%) – higher than any other player in the game, and there’s every chance he betters that record this season. With Everton’s slightly more offensive approach under new management, they’re more susceptible to counter-attacks, demanding more defensive actions from the CB. The GW6 fixture is the perfect entry point with them hosting West Ham at Goodison Park.
Senesi (4.7m)

With another brilliant performance and racking up DefCon points consistently, Senesi is right up there on the radar. At the time of writing, he is the highest-scoring defender in the game at just 4.7m, which represents exceptional value in the current market. The Bournemouth defender has only blanked twice so far and offers excellent prospects over the upcoming fixture run.
Van De Ven (4.7m) / Romero (5.1m)

Both Spurs defenders offer excellent value given their attacking threat and clean sheet potential in what looks like favourable upcoming fixtures. Van de Ven brings pace and recovery ability, while Romero offers more aerial dominance and goal threat from corners. Either could be rotation options depending on your squad structure and other defensive picks.
Andersen (4.5m)

The Fulham CB has also benefited from DefCon metrics, averaging strong CBIT numbers throughout the season. He comes as a lucrative enabler at 4.5m, providing essential squad depth at minimal cost. Despite his fixtures not being the most appealing on paper, he can easily be rotated with the likes of Senesi or other budget defenders when needed. The price tag allows for easy benching and maintains squad flexibility.
Chalobah (5.1m)

Chelsea’s defensive fixtures ease from GW8, with only Brighton and Liverpool beforehand. Bringing in Chalobah now saves transfers later and secures a 5.1m asset with strong DefCon returns and aerial threat, adding goal potential from set-pieces.
Gudmundsson (4.0m) / Rodon (4.0m)

Leeds’ back-line options excel as cheap bench coverage. Gudmundsson delivered 4 points via defensive actions against Wolves, while Rodon narrowly missed the DefCon threshold with 9 CBIT. Both allow funds to be shifted into premium attackers without compromising squad depth.
Midfielders to Target on FPL GW6 Wildcard
Antoine Semenyo (7.6m)

Semenyo has finally managed to convert his underlying quality into actual FPL output. Currently averaging 2.6 shots per match in the Premier League with 3 goals and 2 assists in 5 games, showing he’s becoming more clinical in front of goal. With 12 shots taken and 5 on target, he sits in the 97th percentile for shots among Premier League players. This volume of chances suggests his returns could be sustainable rather than lucky. Furthermore, penalties up his sleeve provide yet another argument to secure that mid-priced spot in WC teams. He could very well be this season’s breakthrough player at this price point.
Bruno Fernandes (9.0m)

Bruno has been ticking along nicely for managers who don’t mind watching him play from deep. He managed to get a goal against 10-man Chelsea last week. With penalties, he is an option to consider for next two weeks – Brentford & Sunderland. Its a tough one for managers as post GW7, his appeal would reduce.
Furthermore, the following graph illustrates his exceptional skill level, leading the league by a wide margin in progressive passes per 90 minutes:

Mbeumo (8.1m)

Another United midfielder who is far more pleasing to watch compared to Bruno’s deep-lying role. Bryan Mbeumo has 1 goal in 5 appearances for United this season, but more importantly, he gets at the end of attacking plays and takes multiple shots per game (3.15 shots per 90 minutes, of which 2.31 are from inside the box). His movement in the final third and ability to find space in the box make him an attractive budget option. Unlike Bruno, he operates much higher up the pitch, increasing his goal threat significantly.
Reijnders (5.6m)

An entry point into the Man City attack at a sub-6.0m price tag feels like a dream come true for budget-conscious managers. He went somewhat quiet after his explosive first GW haul, however, he managed to grab an assist at the weekend, showcasing that he’s still very much involved in City’s attacking build-up. In the absence of Marmoush, he looks to be even more central to their attacking phases. The price point even allows managers to keep him on the bench for rotation when the fixtures turn unfavourable.
Kudus (6.6m)

Spurs have started the season at a much better tempo than expected. Their new signing Kudus, has been involved in almost every single game so far, establishing himself quickly in the first team setup. He looks sharp and dynamic from that right flank, consistently putting in dangerous crosses and maintaining 2.24 key passes per 90 minutes. His pace and directness have added a new dimension to Spurs’ attack, and he should be a guaranteed starter week in, week out in Frank’s preferred XI.
Xavi Simmons (7.1m)

Some question marks have been raised regarding his guaranteed starts after beginning on the bench at the weekend. However, he remains a brilliant player who could prove absolutely key to Spurs’ front line this season. His technical ability and creativity from midfield positions make him a strong consideration for Wildcarders, especially with the Wolves entry point in GW6 and Leeds following in GW7 – both representing excellent fixtures for attacking returns.
Foden (8.0m)

The City midfielder has started just 2 matches this season, scoring 1 goal with 0 assists. His rotation risk under Guardiola remains concerning. In City’s strong 3-0 win over Manchester United, where he contributed a strong performance against Arsenal, he could be a high-risk, high-reward pick.
Caicedo (5.6m)

He’s been an underrated FPL option all season, despite attracting pre-season buzz. His relentless work rate makes high DefCon returns likely, and his in-form shooting and late-run timing offer both a strong floor and the potential for explosive hauls.
Ndiaye (6.5m) / Grealish (6.8m) / KDH (5.0m)

The Everton trio offers compelling value with Grealish leading the Premier League with 4 assists since his loan move from City. Ndiaye has 2 goals & 1 assist in 5 games, while Dewsbury-Hall contributed 1 goal & 1 assist. All three are guaranteed starters under Moyes, with Grealish’s creativity, Ndiaye’s goal threat, and KDH’s box-to-box energy providing different routes into Everton’s attack.
Stach (5.0m)

Leeds’ £17m summer signing from Hoffenheim has 1 goal & 2 assists in 5 Premier League games at just £5.0m. The 6’4” defensive midfielder offers incredible DefCon potential with his aerial dominance and interception ability. His strong performance against Wolves reinstated some confidence as him being the 8th attacker for FPL managers.
Forwards to Target on FPL GW6 Wildcard
Erling Haaland (14.2m)

This guy doesn’t need any introduction whatsoever. A major reason for managers to push that Wildcard button is his absolutely unreal start to the season. Currently averaging 1.51 xG per 90 minutes – the highest rate in the Premier League, which suggests his goalscoring is backed by genuine quality chances. With 6 goals in 5 matches, he’s scoring at a rate of 1.3 goals per 90 – a conversion rate that is better than most forwards in the league. Against Burnley at home, he is probably the best captaincy option available (even Triple Captaincy). His 19 shots with 8 on target showcase his consistent threat and hunger for goals.
Gyokeres (9.0m)

This is one forward spot that Wildcarders can jump on early and potentially gain a significant advantage. While Newcastle (A) isn’t the most appealing fixture for any striker, he offers a brilliant window from GW7 onwards when Arsenal’s fixtures dramatically improve. The Swedish striker emerges as a genuinely viable captaincy alternative over the upcoming fixture run – particularly GW7 (WHU), GW10 (BUR), and GW11 (SUN). Saka’s return & his performance in the second half against City improves him further as an option, with a lot of creativity ultimately coming his way.
His minutes might be carefully managed given Arsenal’s packed schedule, but he could easily create a significant impact in those 65-70 minute appearances. He looks absolutely integral to Arsenal’s system, acting as their final missing piece for what could be their best season ever.
Joao Pedro (7.8m)

The Brazilian has made an impressive Chelsea debut with 2 goals and 3 assists in 5 Premier League games. Currently averaging 0.32 xG/90 with 9 shots (33% on target). He is the in-form player in that Chelsea team, with being central to most of the creativity for them. He was also one of the few strikers, who was close to racking up those DC points.
Evanilson (7.0m)

The Brazilian striker has registered 12 shots with 3 on target across his starts, showing consistent involvement in Bournemouth’s attack. At £7.0m, he offers excellent value as Bournemouth’s main striker with favorable fixtures ahead. He offers a nice addition alongside Semenyo.
Strand Larsen (6.4m)

JSL is back as an option after featuring for 45 minutes in their horrid performance against Leeds. He might not be on top of the shopping list for managers – especially in the presence of plenty of forwards. However, for those looking at a draft full of premiums, he could be a good, cheap third forward to consider.
Conclusion
Gameweek 6 represents a pivotal Wildcard opportunity. Prioritize reliable coverage of Manchester City and Arsenal through Haaland, Gyokeres, and Gabriel, while exploiting value in emerging threats like Semenyo, Caicedo, and Joao Pedro. Don’t overlook budget defensive enablers (Gudmundsson, Andersen) and mid-priced forwards (Evanilson) to balance your squad. Plan transfers around injury returns, such as future Chelsea fixtures, by adding Chalobah now. By combining premium staples, form midfielders, and clever differentials, your Wildcard can reshape your season and maximize returns. Happy tinkering!
