FPL Gameweek 33 Transfer Tips: Two Players to Buy, Hold & Sell

Double Gameweek This, Double Gameweek That…

And then DGW32 showed up and said, “Hold my boots.” Crystal Palace’s entire squad managed a grand total of 41 points — only to be outdone by the trio of Ramsdale, Aït-Nouri, and João Pedro, who collectively scored more… from just one fixture each. Let that sink in.

Now, we’re not saying the FPL gods are predictable — of course, decisions always seem smarter in hindsight (it’s easy to be wise after the event). But let this be your gentle reminder: don’t blindly chase the double gameweek sparkle. Look at the fixtures, weigh the upside, and don’t sleep on the single-gamers who might just steal the show.

Speaking of which, there’s another DGW knocking. Four teams, two fixtures each — but not all of them are sugar and spice. Some SGW matchups are just as tempting, if not better. Choose wisely.

So, let’s start with our BUY-HOLD-SELL article for this GW, sponsored by …. Well, nobody. We are poor, but you can help here if you want 😊

FPL Gameweek 33 Transfer Tips: Two Players to BUY

Omar Marmoush (£7.6m) – FWD, Man City – 33.5% TSB

FPL Gameweek 33 Transfer Tips: Two Players to BUY- Marmoush

Since Haaland (£14.7m) limped off the pitch, Marmoush has been marching like a man on a mission. Just one blank in the last four gameweeks, with 4 returns and a cool 30 points to his name.

And when you dive into the numbers… it’s like watching an FPL version of the Olympics. Among all forwards in that period, Marmoush is:

🥇 1st in Shots, Shots on Target, Big Chances Created, Assists, Bonus Points
🥈 2nd in xG, xA, xGI, Goals Scored, Goal Involvements, xPts, BPS, FPL Points
🥉 3rd in Shots in the Box, Key Passes

The man’s basically collecting podium finishes for fun.

With a Double Gameweek up next vs Everton and Villa, there’s a serious case for handing him the armband — because right now, Marmoush isn’t just stepping up… he’s stat-padding like a pro.

Kevin De Bruyne (£9.3m) – MID, Man City – 7.9% TSB

FPL Gameweek 33 Transfer Tips: Two Players to BUY- De Bruyne

As the curtain slowly draws on Kevin De Bruyne’s majestic spell at Manchester City, the numbers still speak volumes of a player who never lost his magic touch. Among midfielders this season (min. 1200 minutes, per 90):

  • 1st for Key Passes
  • 2nd for Big Chances Created
  • 2nd for xA
  • 2nd for Assists
  • 4th for xGI
  • 5th for Goal Involvements

Even now, with time ticking on his City career, KDB continues to craft moments of brilliance like few others can. He may not be the most clinical, the most explosive, or the template pick anymore — but he is still Kevin De Bruyne.

Bringing him into your FPL squad isn’t just a tactical choice. It’s a tribute. A romantic pick. A nod to the memories he’s given us — the no-look passes, the inch-perfect crosses, the thunderbolts from the edge of the box.

For one last time, maybe it’s not about chasing expected points. Maybe it’s about backing a legend while we still can.

FPL Gameweek 33 Transfer Tips: Two Players to HOLD

Liverpool Legends

Mohamed Salah (£13.8m) – MID, Liverpool – 70.8% TSB

Luis Díaz (£7.5m) – MID, Liverpool – 16.6% TSB

FPL Gameweek 33 Transfer Tips: Two Players to HOLD- Salah and Diaz

Salah is somehow among the Top 10 most transferred-out midfielders this week, and Díaz has been kicked out of nearly 40,000 squads. To that I say: stop. breathe. put the phone down.

I won’t waste your time reminding you what Salah has done this season — unless you’ve been living under a rock or watching highlights in reverse. But let’s not sleep on the Colombian magician either.

Since GW27, among midfielders (on a per-appearance basis), Díaz has been absolutely cooking:

🥇 1st – Key Passes, Big Chances Created, Bonus Points
🥈 2nd – BPS, FPL Points, xA, xGI, Goal Involvements
🥉 3rd – Assists, xPts, Shots in the Box

And just in case you’re wondering who they face — it’s Leicester. Yes, the team currently hosting an open house in their penalty area. If you’re not targeting that fixture, are you even playing FPL?

Salah and Díaz this week are the poster boys for:
DON’T BUY. DON’T SELL. JUST HUG THEM TIGHT AND HOLD FOR GOLD.

Jacob Murphy (£5.2m) – MID, Newcastle – 16.2% TSB

FPL Gameweek 33 Transfer Tips: Two Players to HOLD- Murphy

Fresh off a 19-point haul in GW32, Jacob Murphy is somehow among the Top 5 most transferred-out midfielders this week.
I mean… what more does a guy have to do? Show up at your house with a PowerPoint?

Since GW30, Murphy’s been strutting around the FPL kingdom wearing stats like a crown:

🥇 1st – Goal Involvements, Big Chances Created, xA, Assists, BPS, Bonus, FPL Points
🥈 2nd – Goals, xPts
🥉 3rd – xG, xGI

Sure, he’s got just one fixture this week, and yes, the double gameweek temptation is real. But a double fixture doesn’t guarantee double joy — just ask anyone who captained a Palace player in DGW32.

And Murphy’s matchup? Aston Villa — a team he already bagged an assist against in GW18 during a 3-0 Toon masterclass. Not to mention: Villa haven’t kept a clean sheet against any of the current Top 6 this season.

So, like Salah and Díaz, Murphy this week is the definition of:
DON’T BUY. DON’T SELL. BUT HOLD — LIKE YOUR MINI-LEAGUE DEPENDS ON IT.
Maybe you bench him. But don’t you dare ditch him.

FPL Gameweek 33 Transfer Tips: Two Players to SELL

Cole Palmer (£10.6m) – MID, Chelsea – 36.5% TSB

FPL Gameweek 33 Transfer Tips: Two Players to SELL- Palmer

Palmer is the 2nd most owned MID in FPL. However the time has finally come, FPL managers — it’s time to part ways with Cole Palmer. Once the midfield messiah who bailed us out week after week, he’s now barely clinging on like a guest who overstayed their welcome. Since GW22, he’s managed just 29 points — not exactly premium-tier returns for a so-called premium midfielder.

Chelsea’s upcoming fixtures aren’t doing him any favors either. Ranked 19th in the Fixture Difficulty Rating (FDR) from now till the end of the season, it’s less “blue wave” and more “blue Monday” vibes.

If you’re still holding him hoping for a miracle, it might be time to accept reality — Palmer’s magic tricks have run out, and all that’s left is the disappearing act.

There’s no shame in moving on — it’s what he would’ve wanted. Your team deserves a midfield spark, not a fading ember. Whether you go chasing double gameweek darlings or plump for a form player with a kinder run, the Palmer chapter needs closing. Thank him for the memories, the hat-tricks, the penalties, and then… hit that transfer button.

Pedro Porro (£5.3m) – DEF, Spurs – 18.0% TSB

FPL Gameweek 33 Transfer Tips: Two Players to SELL- Porro

Pedro Porro is somehow still clinging onto FPL squads like that one leftover holiday decoration no one bothered to take down. Despite being the 5th most-owned defender, he’s also the 2nd most transferred-out unflagged defender this week — and for good reason. The stats are damning: just 5 points in his last 7 appearances, which is less “premium defender” and more “premium drain on your rank.”

When your team is sitting 15th in the league and your clean sheet chances are shakier than a Jenga tower at a toddler’s birthday party, it’s probably time to reassess. Spurs have an awful fixture list ahead — 18th in the FDR — which means things are likely to get worse before they get better.

Porro’s attacking spark has gone out like a cheap birthday candle in the wind, and the defensive returns were never really a thing to begin with. If you’re still holding onto him, it’s either sentimentality or sheer stubbornness. Be brave. Be ruthless. There are defenders out there offering better value and actual points. Porro’s time is up — wish him well and boot him out before he burns another hole in your team.
