If Gameweek 1 was a curveball straight at the stumps, Gameweek 2 was a hat-trick ball smashing the top corner. Chaos, unpredictability, and absolute carnage.
Among the 17 players who posted double-digit hauls in GW2:
- Only 1 had also done so in GW1
- Only 3 had an ownership of more than 10%

So if your GW2 score looked grim, donโt panic. You werenโt alone, and as much as it hurts me to say itโฆ youโll never walk alone (and youโll probably feel that a lot this season).
So, letโs start with our BUY-HOLD-SELL article for this GW, sponsored by โฆ. Well, nobody. We are poor, but you can help here if you want ?

FPL GW3 Transfer Tips: Two Players to BUY
Chris Wood (ยฃ7.7m) โ FWD, Nott’m Forest โ 22.9% TSB

The man who delivered 200 points last season was largely ignored pre-GW1. Then he slapped doubters with a 13-point opening haul.
In GW3, he faces West Ham โ who are statistically the worst defensive side so far:
- 20th for Shots in the Box Conceded
- 20th for Shots on Target Conceded
- 20th for Big Chances Conceded
- 20th for Goals Conceded
- 19th for NPxGC
- 18th for xGC
The beauty? Even beyond GW3, Forestโs fixture run is littered with opportunities โ including two promoted sides in the next four. Wood has already risen twice in price, and another rise could happen before the GW3 deadline.
Simply put, if you want a forward who combines great fixtures, reliability, and a growing ownership train you donโt want to miss, Wood is the ticket before it leaves the station.

Ismaรฏla Sarr (ยฃ6.5m) โ MID, Crystal Palace โ 4.9% TSB

Last season: 149 points, with 8 goals + 7 assists.
Underlying data: 17.6 xGI โ meaning he underperformed despite decent returns. Translation: thereโs a bigger haul waiting to explode.
And then thereโs the Aston Villa factor. Against them, Sarr has been lethal: 7 goals + 3 assists in just 6 starts. Villaโs current form isnโt helping either โ 1 point, 0 goals, and shaky at both ends.
At under 5% ownership, Sarr is a classic FPL differential with explosive upside. If Palace click and Sarr continues his Villa torment, this could be the week he goes nuclear.

Bruno Fernandes (ยฃ9.0m) โ MID, Man Utd โ 20.9% TSB

Two blanks and a missed penalty later, 140k+ managers have already sold Bruno this week. But patience is key here.
United face a promoted side in GW3 โ a fixture most managers originally brought Bruno in for. History also tells us Bruno often starts slowly but explodes in patches. Had his penalty gone in last week, weโd be talking about a 10โ12 point return and nobody would be panicking.
If you own him, hold your nerve. Selling now is exactly how you miss the inevitable Bruno haul.

Robert Sรกnchez (ยฃ5.0m) โ GKP, Chelsea โ 25.0% TSB

The most transferred-out goalkeeper this week. Strange, because:
- He returned 8 points in GW1.
- Conceded only a worldie in GW2.
Chelseaโs defensive metrics arenโt terrible, and their fixtures until GW6 are as good as it gets. Add in the fact Sรกnchez is a nailed ยฃ5.0m Chelsea keeper, and youโve got stability plus potential clean sheets.
Goalkeeper transfers are usually wasted moves โ unless thereโs injury or rotation risk. Sรกnchez is neither. If anything, heโs a solid set-and-forget until at least GW6.
FPL Gameweek 3 Transfer Tips: Two Players to SELL
Bukayo Saka (ยฃ10.0m) โ MID, Arsenal โ 12.9% TSB

Saka limped off against Leeds with a left hamstring injury (different from last seasonโs right hamstring issue). Scans suggest itโs not as bad as first feared, but the timeline is still 3โ4 weeks out.
In FPL terms, thatโs too long to carry a ยฃ10m asset. Even if he returns around GW6, youโre tying up huge funds in a blank slot during a period where budget flexibility is key. The smart play is to sell, redistribute funds, and bring him back when fit.
Cole Palmer (ยฃ10.5m) โ MID, Chelsea โ 47.8% TSB

Palmer dropped out of the starting XI for GW2 despite being named in the matchday squad due to a groin issue. Palmerโs groin scan came back clear, which is positive. But Chelsea are expected to be cautious, and Fulham in GW3 may come too soon.
Form is another worry: he has scored just one open-play goal since January. His appeal was inflated by penalties and a hot streak last year, but right now, heโs overpriced for the risk he carries.

With half the game owning him, this is the perfect time to go against the herd. Freeing up ยฃ10.5m from Palmer opens doors to in-form mids and forwards, while avoiding being shackled to a player nursing fitness concerns and lacking output.
