FPL GW33 Tips – Key Questions/Dilemmas Answered
Players To Target For GW33 Bench Boost

Gameweek 33 bench boost is a strong strategy due to the fact that four strong teams have a double gameweek, while some single-gameweek teams have great fixtures also.
In this section, I will focus on those players you’d reasonably expect to be on your bench this week.
West Ham, with a home fixture against Southampton, is prime bench boost territory. The likes of Bowen, Areola & Wan-Bissaka would potentially be on your bench due to not having a double gameweek, and manager Graham Potter will be looking to capitalise with a result against the already relegated Southampton.
Liverpool face Leicester, who scored for the first time in eight Gameweeks against Brighton on the weekend. If you currently hold Konate or Bradley, this is one of the better opportunities to find a clean sheet and potentially some attacking returns this weekend.
Note: Slot confirmed in the pre-match press conference that TAA is back in training but still not ready to start in GW33. This means that Bradley is confirmed to start in GW33 vs Leicester City.
For the double gameweek teams, Munoz, Merino, Rogers & Trossard are some cheaper options that managers could potentially have on their bench lineup that would be great bench boost targets.

Players To Target on FPL GW33 Free Hit

Gameweek 33 free hit is another popular and useful strategy this week, as you can fill a squad of 11 players with double gameweek players who play for in-form teams, have good fixtures, and are good FPL assets.
Crystal Palace host Bournemouth before facing Arsenal away. I believe Mateta & Eze are the two most viable candidates here due to their form before the last gameweek. Last gameweek being two away fixtures against top teams shouldn’t be used as a guide. Bournemouth have struggled lately, and Palace should capitalise on that.

Manchester City face Everton away and Aston Villa at home. Decent fixtures, but in Everton’s final games at Goodison Park before moving stadiums, expect some spirited performances. Marmoush is the best pick still, with Haaland still on the sidelines.
De Bruyne is the high-risk/high-reward pick after returning to form in Gameweek 32. His minutes are not assured, though. Gvardiol is an okay choice, but due to featuring mainly at centre back, his attacking output has diminished, and he could also see rotation before the FA Cup semi-final.
Aston Villa host Newcastle before playing away at Manchester City. Villa have 7 away losses compared to just 1 home loss in the league, so their away fixture will be very tough. Hosting Newcastle, who are one of the in-form teams in the league, isn’t ideal either. You could potentially go without any Villa assets, even Morgan Rogers is less active in the penalty area in these tougher fixtures.

Arsenal are the most interesting prospects of the Double Gameweek. If not for their survival in Champions League competition, we wouldn’t need to be worrying about expected minutes and rest. Most of the squad should see enough playing time to warrant choosing this gameweek. Saka, Raya & Saliba are the best options due to expected points and likely minutes.

Best FPL GW33 Transfers if you have used your wildcard already
If you have used your wildcard already and are looking for players that will be top assets between now and the end of the season, you’ve come to the right place.
Jarrod Bowen has Southampton, Brighton, Tottenham, Manchester United, and Ipswich as teams still to play. These are all teams that are bottom 10 in defensive stats. As West Ham’s talisman, he is likely to be involved in the majority of West Ham’s goals. His underlying stats under Graham Potter are promising, and he has scored and assisted enough to show some form.
Top Midfielders for Shots inside the box over the last 4 Gameweeks:
- Barnes- 13
- Martinelli- 11
- Bowen– 8
- Garnacho- 8
- Luis Diaz- 7
- Asensio-7
- Merino- 7

Bryan Mbeumo was once a stalwart in most teams before fixtures and double/blank gameweeks saw the majority shift away from him. With 16 goals and 6 assists to his name in 32 fixtures, his output this season has been quality. Brentford as a whole have struggled in the difficult recent fixtures, but upcoming fixtures include Brighton, Manchester United, Ipswich & Wolves. On penalty duties, he is once again a great choice.

Rayan Ait-Nouri is a good choice for the remainder of the season, and this is not just a reaction to his goal and assist in gameweek 32. He has 4 goals and 6 assists to his name in 31 starts,s and his underlying data is the best of his career. As one of the most attacking fullbacks in the league, he will enjoy fixtures against Manchester United, Leicester, Manchester City, Brighton & Brentford.
He averages a shot every match and provides more than one key pass on average every fixture. Wolves have also improved defensively under Vitor Pereira. 3 clean sheets in their last 9 fixture, in what was a mixed run of fixture difficulty, is promising signs.
Milenkovic is another great choice that should be on your radar. The big Serbian centre back has 4 goals and 2 assists to his name while keeping 13 clean sheets with Nottingham Forest. They are still defensively solid enough to warrant owning despite shipping a few goals to some top teams recently.
Upcoming fixtures include Tottenham, Leicester, West Ham & Chelsea. These teams are more susceptible to set-piece goals conceded, as well as some will be rotating to keep fresh for their European ties.

FPL GW33 Key Fixture Analysis

Ipswich v Arsenal. Ipswich v Arsenal is the first match of Arsenal’s double gameweek. With Arsenal’s victory over Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals, their confidence will be sky high. The big question will be the rotation that manager Mikel Arteta employs. With the two double gameweek fixtures to play before playing PSG in the semi-finals in under two weeks, Arteta will look to keep the rhythm and form of the team while balancing rest and reducing injury risk.
I expect the majority of the team to play at least 140+ minutes across the two fixtures. I expect Saka to start at least one of the fixtures and potentially both.

Aston Villa v Newcastle. Aston Villa host Newcastle in the first fixture of Aston Villa’s double gameweek. This fixture is important as it will help determine Aston Villa’s asset choices while also giving insight into which Newcastle assets you should field that you likely own currently.
Aston Villa lost in a tight finish to PSG mid-week, which could be seen as demoralising. Newcastle emphatically dispatched Crystal Palace 5-0. Villa have been on a strong run of form lately, but I see them definitely conceding to Newcastle, but also having good opportunities to score. I think the attack over the defence for both teams should be prioritised in your lineup.
