Welcome to the FPL Gameweek 31 Captain Picks & Metrics blog. A blank gameweek means we’ll be unable to choose Salah as a captaincy option. The popular captaincy options this week in the absence of Salah and Isak include Haaland, Wood, Kluivert, Mbeumo & Bruno Fernandes. Let’s see who tops the captaincy metrics!
This season the metrics has a 22/30 return record. Last season the metrics finished with 560 points(26/38 returns). The metrics had a 31/37 “returns record” in the 22/23 season and a 30/38 “returns record” in the 21/22 season. Do follow the man behind the metrics @AK_FPL1(Do follow him on Twitter)
Total metrics points: 10 + 34 + 34 + 26 + 12 + 4 + 4 + 4 + 12 + 4 + 4 + 26 + 26 + 10 + 36 + 6 + 42 + 18 + 32 + 14 + 32 + 6 + 16 + 58 + 40 + 28 + 12 + 30 + 14 + 6 = 600 pts
Note: “Returns” ~ Player topping the metrics getting points returns and not necessarily the highest scoring option of the week.

Isak tops the captaincy poll this week ahead of Newcastle’s Monday night fixture against Leicester(A), Salah is 2nd in the captaincy poll with 36% of the votes and will be up against Fulham(A). Projections Rank of our FPL Gameweek 31 Captain Picks

In the Fourth Phase of the article, I have used the Anytime Returns and Projected Points Tools available at Fantasy Football Hub. With the help of the Anytime Returns Tool, I have derived the Safety Rank, which helps in determining the Safest Captaincy Option of the week, while I have used the Projected Points Tool to determine the Explosion Rank, which helps in determining the Most Explosive Option of the week.
Salah is first for projections this week with 63% anytime returns & a 7.3 points projection in FPL GW31 vs Fulham(A)
Isak is second this week with 67% anytime returns & a 5.4 points projection in FPL GW31 against Leicester(A).
Palmer meanwhile is 3rd and has a 59% anytime returns & a 6.3 points projection in GW31 against Brentford(A)
Saka is also 3rd and has a 60% anytime returns & a 5.4 points projection in FPL GW31 against Everton(A)
Marmoush is last with a 50% anytime return & a 4.9 points projection in GW31 vs Man City(A)
The reason Saka and Isak have higher anytime returns odds but fewer predicted points is because their xMins is around 60 mins as per FFHUB(Saka is predicted to play 68 mins and Isak is predicted to play 64 mins)
Eddie Howe’s team-news ahead of Monday: “We’ll wait and see today, I will see them [Kieran Trippier and Alexander Isak] for the first time today. We don’t think we have any big injuries from Wednesday night, but we have a few niggles.
