What an eventful Gameweek it was—for Palmer owners and Wildcard players alike. Interestingly, these two groups largely didn’t overlap. Many managers sacrificed the likes of Salah, Palmer, Jota, and Henderson to bring in assets like Saka, Trent, Diaz, Gabriel, Saliba, and Raya. Unfortunately, this move backfired dramatically, and only a few Wildcard users saw a green arrow.
However, in retrospect, the decisions still seem sound, just unlucky:
- Among players with an xGI over 1 in Gameweek 6, Saka was the only one to blank.
- Salah’s NPxG for the week was even lower than that of his teammate Szoboszlai.
- Arsenal had the lowest NPxGC and xGC, along with the highest xCS in Gameweek 6, yet still conceded two goals.
So, trust the process—this feels more like a statistical anomaly than a mistake. With over 80% of the season left, there’s plenty of time to bounce back.
So, let’s start with our BUY-HOLD-SELL article for this GW, sponsored by …. Well, nobody. We are poor, but you can help here if you want 😊

FPL Gameweek 7 Transfer Tips: Two Players to BUY
Bryan Mbeumo (£7.4m) – MID, Brentford – 22.9% TSB
Among midfielders, Mbeumo is ranked:
- 2nd for goals scored
- 2nd for Bonus
- 4th for FPL points scored
- 4th for Shots on Target
- 4th for xA
- 4th for BPS
- 5th for Goal Involvements
- 5th for Big Chances
- 5th for Big Chances Created
In GW7, Mbeumo faces Wolves, a team which is ranked in the bottom half of the table for every defensive metric:
- 11th for NPxGC
- 12th for Shots Conceded
- 13th for xGC
- 14th for Big Chances Conceded
- 15th for Shots in Box Conceded
- 15th for Shots on Target Conceded
- 17th for Xcs
- 20th for Goals Conceded
- 0 Clean Sheets
Even beyond GW7, Brentford has extremely enticing list of fixtures.
This makes Mbeumo an extremely appealing option.

Brennan Johnson (£6.4m) – MID, Spurs – 1.7% TSB
Amongst teams, Spurs ranks
- 1st for xG
- 1st for NPxG
- 1st for Shots on Target
- 1st for Shots in the Box
- 1st for Big Chances
Their fixtures in the long-term look quite impressive.
While the most popular Spurs assets are Porro, Romero and Solanke, the player who is going under the radar is Johnson. Among Spurs assets, Johnson is ranked
- 1st for Shots
- 1st for Shots in the Box
- 1st for Goals Scored
- 1st for Goal Involvements
- 2nd for Big Chances
- 2nd for Assists
- 2nd for xG
- 2nd for NPxG
- 2nd for xPts
- 2nd for FPL points
This makes Johnson a top priority for your transfers.

FPL Gameweek 7 Transfer Tips: Two Players to HOLD
William Saliba (£6.0m) – DEF, Arsenal – 33.1% TSB
Saliba is currently the most transferred-out defender this week.
- However, despite recent setbacks, Arsenal still ranks 2nd in the league for both Goals Conceded and Clean Sheets.
- Saliba’s upcoming fixture is against Southampton, the team with the fewest goals scored in the league.
For these reasons, I recommend holding onto Saliba rather than transferring him out.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.1m) – DEF, Liverpool – 31.8% TSB
Liverpool’s Alexander-Arnold is the second most transferred-out defender this week. But it’s not due to a lack of performance.
Among defenders, Trent ranks:
- 1st for xGI
- 1st for Key Passes
- 1st for Big Chances Created
- 1st for xA
- 1st for xPts
- 2nd for Points
- 3rd for Bonus Points
- 3rd for Crosses
In Gameweek 7, Liverpool faces Crystal Palace, a team that has scored the second-fewest goals in the league. Think twice before selling Trent—it’s a move that may not work out as expected.

FPL Gameweek 7 Transfer Tips: Two Players to SELL
Eberechi Eze (£6.8m) – MID, Crystal Palace – 18.3% TSB
Eze is the most transferred-out midfielder this week, and it’s easy to see why.
He’s managed just one goal in six Gameweeks. To put in context, Mbeumo who started the season at the same price point, has scored five.
Filling the void left by Olise was always going to be tough, and Glasner’s side has struggled, scoring the second-fewest goals in the league so far.
Up next for Palace is a resilient Liverpool defense, which has conceded the fewest goals and kept the most clean sheets this season.
Therefore, I suggest selling Eze.

Bruno Fernandes (£8.2m) – MID, Man Utd – 7.7% TSB
Manchester United have scored just 5 goals so far this season, with only Southampton netting fewer. This isn’t a one-off either—last season, no team in the top half of the table scored fewer than United.
Bruno Fernandes is the most transferred-out United player, and at £8.2m, it’s easy to see why managers are frustrated.
In Gameweek 7, Bruno goes up against an Aston Villa side that recently kept a clean sheet against Bayern Munich.
The only factor in his favor is United’s favorable run of fixtures starting from Gameweek 8.
That said, I wouldn’t put too much weight on the Fixture Difficulty Rating (FDR). Bruno might put up some promising underlying stats, as could Manchester United, but their main issue remains a lack of a clinical striker to convert those chances. Neither Zirkzee nor Højlund inspires much confidence.
Therefore, I’d suggest selling Bruno and investing your funds elsewhere.
