GW6 could potentially see a higher number of Wildcards being activated, after GW4, in the 2024/25 season so far. The switch perfectly aligns with a change in pre-GW6 fixtures for many teams with post-GW6 teams and players, which FPL managers can aim for. With a hope to resurrect the difficult start to the season, let’s get into it.

FPL GW6 Fixture Swing Analysis- Teams and Players to Target
Brentford
Brentford had caught the attention of many managers since their first gameweek performance against Palace. The duo of Mbeumo (7.2m) and Wissa (6.0m) has been incredible so far. Unfortunately, Wissa has been ruled out for 2 months, but the potential of other assets continue to remain strong.
Among all the teams in the league, Brentford has arguably the best fixture run to jump on. They look extremely lively in their attacks and have some outstanding assets at a very attractive price point. They face all the teams who have been poor defensively, with Mbeumo being a potential Captaincy option in GW6. Brentford also rank the highest in the Fantasy Football Hub’s Fixture Ticker with 12.1 points from GW6 to GW13.
Mbeumo (7.2m)
Mbeumo has had an astonishing start to his PL season. He is known to be the talisman in the absence of Ivan Toney and also should be on penalties. He is averaging an xG of 0.3 per 90 minutes with 1.6 shots from inside the box. Moreover, he is also high up in assist potential with 0.8 Big Chance Created/90 minutes, ranking him in the top 10 among all midfielders. The absence of Wissa could act as a hindrance to Brentford’s attacking potential. Nonetheless, he came out with a goal and 0.44 xG against Spurs in GW5. He could also be a differential captaincy option for managers losing faith in Salah and who don’t have Haaland in their teams.
Top Midfielders(<7.5 million) for Expected Goal Involvement:
Flekken (4.5m)
The popular Wildcard replacement of Palace’s Henderson has been the Brentford keeper, Flekken. With a sea of easy fixtures lined up, we can expect clean sheets and save points from him. He is arguably one of the best 4.5m options among Keepers in the game currently. Although Brentford concedes a lot of shots, he could rack up some save points and is averaging 5.6 saves per game.

Van Den Berg (4.0m)
Van Den Berg could be the perfect 4 million gem which FPL managers are currently in dire need for, with trying to fit in Haaland and Salah in their teams. He started both the difficult fixtures against Spurs and City, where they played a 5 at the back while missing out on the first 3 games of the season. If he cements his position over the easier fixtures as well, he could become a good option for those looking to free up some cash in their teams. He is definitely one to keep an eye out for.
Players to Monitor – Schade (5.4m)
Nottingham Forest
The next team to target in the current fixture swing would be Nott’m Forest. Their start has taken a lot of FPL managers by surprise, especially after their 1-0 win against Liverpool at Anfield. They have the least xGC in the league just after Manchester City at an average of just 0.7. Along with their exceptional defensive stats, they have also displayed a solid game up front as well. With Fulham, Leicester and West Ham in their next 6, their assets could be worth getting in for this swing.
Chris Wood (6.1m)
Chris Wood has emerged as probably the most consistent 6 million forwards out of the bunch being considered at the start of the season. He is Forest’s penalty taker and has scored two non penalty goals so far. The added benefit is that he tends to secure the 3 bonus points on two of the occasions. Although he is 8th for xG/90 among forwards (0.56), he has been really clinical and has been getting in good positions. With Nottingham Forest being on a good run, we can see him getting a couple more goals over this run.

Aina (4.5m)
There has been a lot of awe towards Nott’m Forest’s defence. They are posting amazing underlying numbers. Their cheap full backs could help provide FPL teams with the depth they need. With conceding the third least number of expected goals conceded, Aina could also provide some attacking returns.
Teams with Best xGC this season(so far):
- Liverpool- 3.66
- Manchester City- 3.82
- Forest- 4.44
Moreno (4.4m)
Moreno can also catch a lot of traction with yet again a wonderful price and really good fixtures coming his way. He started last two games, but was subbed off in the first half against Brighton. He is definitely one to keep a close eye on.

Arsenal
Arsenal is currently one of, if not, the best club in the league currently. Their games look extremely structured and were even able to hold off Manchester City with 10 men till last second of the game. The defensive stats have also been unreal, with Raya being the best keeper option at just 5.6m. Their attack also look settled and should be good even with Odegaard out for a couple of months. Although fixtures rarely matter, as they had proved over the last two games, they have an impeccable run of fixtures over the next couple of weeks. their GW6-GW8 run calls for a triple-up and potential captaincy options as well.

Raya (5.6m)
Raya has scored the highest points among goalkeepers this season. At a price tag of 5.6m, he comes in at a bargain of a price. Apart from clean sheets, he is also racking up a lot of save points with 23 saves over the 5 games so far. Moreover, with a change in the BPS this season, he is also high up on the bonus points when they keep a clean sheet. In the 3 games Arsenal managed not to concede, Raya took 1, 3 and 2 Bonus Points from those games. I think he is worth the extra premium of around 1 million over the 4.5m options being a reliable option from a strong defence.
However, it should be noted that keeping Raya can block managers from getting three of their outfield players.

Gabriel (6.1m)
Gabriel has been their knight in shining armour in their fixtures against Spurs and City, by putting them ahead in both the games. Apart from his great defensive demeanour, he has scored 2 goals in 2 games. He has the 4th highest xG among defenders at 0.2/90 minutes. He has been lethal from corners, with Saka’s shrewd crossing ability and his well-timed running beating the likes of Walker, especially in those cagey games. Arsenal’s clean sheet potential combined with his aerial threat could reap in a lot of points over the next three fixtures.

Saka (10.0m)
The only player, apart from Haaland, to return in every single game so far has been Saka. He has managed to get an assist in every single game so far. Saka is 2nd highest among midfielders in Big Chances Created per 90 minutes at 1.16 and is averaging 2.31 shots every 90 minutes from inside the box, ranking him up in overall xGI list. Although, his returns have been a bit bridled so far, mostly consisting of assist points, the take-away should be his consistency and him being central in all of the attacks.

Havertz (8.1m)
As a cheaper route to the Arsenal attack, Havertz has had 2 goals and 1 assist in the 5 games. He is a nailed-on striker in that Arsenal team, playing full 90 minutes and has an xG/90 of 0.35. In his last 19 Games for Arsenal, he is averaging a return (goal and return) of 0.95. He has been really good in converting stats into returns so far and should keep it up over the next few fixtures.

Everton
The team next up is Everton. They have had a mixed season so far. They haven’t won a game, but have managed to score a couple of goals in the last three. However, with good fixtures coming up, their assets could worth to take a punt on. They don’t face any of the traditional big 6 side (except Man United) over the next 9 fixtures.
Calvert-Lewin (6.0m)
DCL has scored 2 goals and assisted 1 over the last 3 games. Everton had also managed to take the lead for the majority of the games, conceding in the latter half. He has racked up an xG of 0.76 against Villa and 0.26 against Leicester. At 6 million he could be a good pick on Wildcard and is a popular Joao Pedro and Isak replacement.
Mykolenko (4.3m)
Mykolenko was a fairly popular GW1 pick among managers, with people loosing faith after seeing their defensive state. However, with his price drops, he now stands at 4.3m. At this price point, he could occupy the 4th or 5th defender spot. Although, he had missed the last game due to injury, Dyche hinted that he is back in training, hence should be back in the starting XI soon.

Dwight McNeil (5.4m)
Another one to keep in our watchlist is the 5.5m midfielder, McNeil. His numbers have been amazing this season. He is ranked 3rd highest among midfielders, just behind Maddison and De Bruyne for xA/90 at 0.52. McNeil has also created a total of 6 big chances with 66% of his total passes in the final third. He has been really attacking and could prove fruitful given Everton’s fixtures.
Top Players for Big Chances Created this season(so far):
Other Players to Watch
Semenyo (5.6m)
A brilliant addition to the teams during this swing could be Bournemouth’s Semenyo. He has been astonishingly attacking, regardless of their opposition. In GW5 against Liverpool, he could have come away with a double-digit haul. With Southampton and Leicester in his next two, he could definitely reap in a lot of points. Moreover, the price point allows managers to easily bench him for his fixtures against Arsenal and Man City in GW8 and GW10. He is in the top 10 among midfielders in terms of xGI/90 of 0.6.
Watkins (9.0m) and Rogers (5.2m)
Villa don’t have the best fixtures when looking at the next 6 fixtures together. However, Watkins is a great option against Ipswich next week. He has an xGI of 0.8 per 90 minutes so far and is second among forwards in terms of xG.
Rogers finally delivered a tremendous 10 points to the hope of many managers, doing justice to his underlying numbers. He could be a great pick even through the difficult fixtures.

Chelsea Attack (GW6-GW8)
Chelsea have a mixed set of fixtures when looked at from a long-run perspective. However, if you have the privilege to attack the next 2 fixtures, their assets could come in clutch. Palmer (10.6m) had proven what he could do last season. He has the potential to go on an unstoppable spree. But his price tag makes it a bit difficult to accommodate him in the squad while maintaining a good structure.
The second option from Chelsea that we would recommend would be Nicolas Jackson (7.7m). Out of the bunch of strikers that managers were considering in GW1, he has surfaced as arguably the best one among them. He is averaging an xG of 0.8 per 90 minutes and is 3rd among forwards after Haaland and Watkins.

Spurs Attack
In lieu of good fixtures, Spurs attack cannot go unnoticed. With Solanke back and starting, they now have the striker they were missing. Son (10.0m) and Solanke (7.5m) could be ahead of the curve picks as of now. As they move towards a good run of fixtures with Brighton and West Ham in GW7 and beyond, they face Man United in GW6 which is also a potentially good fixture for the attackers.
Maddison (7.5m) is 2nd highest in the game for his xGI of 4.1- Only behind Haaland. And Top for xGI among Midfielders.
Solanke has also registered an xG of 0.71 per 90 minutes and has taken a total of 9 shots from inside the box. Son is another reliable pick to go for, with a total xGI of 2.5 in the 5 gameweeks. They have the potential to score 2/3 goals in each game, over their run of fixtures. Pedro Porro (5.6m) is yet another player we would recommend to keep in your watchlist.

Man City (GW7 onwards)
Although the 70% owned asset from Man City needs no introduction, Man City go on an unbelievable run of fixtures. Haaland could be a permanent captain over this run. However, apart from Haaland, it could beneficial to add their other assets to the mix as well. Gvardiol (6.0m) looks cemented for his spot, with Lewis (4.7m) being a risk after the return of Walker. Their midfielders are ones to observe as the attack double-up could bring in multiple double-digit returns. KDB (9.6m) is out for GW6 but will not miss a lot of games according to Pep with Foden (9.3m) came on for the last 20 minutes of the game.
Pep Guardiola: “I don’t think it will be long injury for Kevin de Bruyne”. “I will not say Watford and I don’t know for Newcastle. But I think it will not be long”, says via @City_Xtra.
Carvalho and Dibling (5th Midfielder Spot)
For the 5th Midfielder spot, to make up some room elsewhere, Southampton’s Dibling (4.5m) and Brentford’s Carvalho (4.8m) seem like the best options. The 0.3m premium for Carvalho can account for a more reliable team in terms of their attack and fixtures.
Southampton also have a good run and DIbling also scored a goal against Ipswich, earning 11 points to his name. He also had an xG of 0.66 in that match. In the previous game as well, Dibling managed to win a penalty.

FPL GW6 Fixture Swing – Teams to Avoid
Brighton
Brighton, in their next 6 fixture, face Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool and City. After their disappointing performance over the past 2 lucrative games against Ipswich and Forest, we think it’s time to jump off the likes of Minteh and Mitoma. There are many potential replacements at their price points in the game, who also have better fixtures in their favour. However, Joao Pedro at 5.7m could be a good budget or 8th striker to have in our teams.
Newcastle
Newcastle’s performance has also been underwhelming this season. Considering the amount of traction they had received in GW1, they have been really quiet so far. With Isak occupying 8.4m of your budget, we think its time to take a punt on other forwards in the game. With Havertz or Watkins being a straight transfer from him. However, if they are able to bounce back, it could be worth going for them in GW11. However, Barnes can emerge as a value asset at his price point even with the tough fixtures.
