Welcome back to another edition of FPL Transfer Trends. In this blog, we look at the Best Transfer Combinations to make and FPL GW11 Tips. The next three Gameweek come in a blink of an eye, with GW12 being a mid-week. Also, with Arsenal and Manchester City blanking in GW12, let’s see how the transfer market looks like ahead of FPL GW11.
Before we go into this week’s transfer trends, let’s see how the previous week’s combinations performed. The Salah to KDB switch helped gain 5 points as KDB had an assist in their 4-0 win against Southampton. The other two combinations weren’t as beneficial in GW10. However, they are great long-term picks and still have great fixtures.

Top Transfer Ins and Outs ahead of FPL GW11
Foden is at the top of the most transferred players list ahead of FPL GW11 with around 400k managers getting him in their teams already. Although he blanks in GW12, it is difficult to look past the form he is in. Another City player is featured in the list, with Cancelo being transferred in by around 240k managers.
On the other side of the list, the top 3 transferred-out players are the Liverpool boys, Diaz, Trent and Mo Salah. Another week of underwhelming performance from the Reds led to FPL managers losing patience with their assets. Bernardo is also seen on the list as managers making the sideways move to his teammate, Foden.

FPL GW11 Tips – Best Transfer Combinations
Transfer Combination 1:
Diaz (8.0m) to Zaha (7.4m)
The Liverpool winger has been sidelined until after World Cup, due to undergoing an injury in their fixture against Arsenal. His price point presents a lot of good replacements to FPL managers. One such option is Crystal Palace’s Wilfred Zaha. He has been the centre of attention among FPL managers for quite a while now.
Underlying Numbers
Average Statistic per 90 mins | Luis Díaz | Wilfried Zaha |
---|---|---|
Expected Goals | 0.34 | 0.46 |
Shots | 2.34 | 2.89 |
Shots on Target | 1.02 | 1.45 |
Shots in Box | 2.05 | 2.46 |
Expected Assists | 0.20 | 0.18 |
Big Chance Created | 0.29 | 0.29 |
The underlying number, that Zaha has been posting is amazing for a player priced at under 8m. Although he came away with just an assist in their win against Leeds, he had the most number of shots in the game and created one big chance as well. This season, he has been averaging an expected goal involvement of 0.64 per 90 minutes.
Player Heatmap Comparison
The heat maps of the two players look very similar and so is their play style. They are skilful players who like to dribble with the ball and cut inside the box. Most of Zaha’s shots are also from the left flank, where he creates most of his runs from.
Fixture Analysis | Crystal Palace
Palace’s fixtures are what makes Wilfred Zaha a lucrative asset to have in our teams. Their fixture run is one of the best fixture runs that a team could have in the Premier League. All the way till GW18, they have great fixtures, making Zaha an easy pick on Wildcard as well.
Palace go up against Leicester in GW11, who have been conceding a lot of goals this season. Although their attack has been performing well lately, they are 3rd from the bottom in terms of expected goals conceded over the last 5 gameweeks. Even after Leicester, they face Wolves and Everton, who are 11th and 16th respectively in terms of xGC conceded.

Transfer Combination 2:
Diaz (8.0m) to Maddison (8.3m)
The next best transfer combination yet again involves removing Luis Diaz. His injury opens a lot of options that managers can go for in the midfield spot. Another such option after Zaha is Leicester’s, James Maddison.
Maddison is the man in form right now. His performance led to his ownership rising to around 20 per cent. He has been on the list of most transferred in players list for the past three weeks now. He is the talisman in that Leicester team currently and priced at just 8.3m, he is one of the best assets to own.
Underlying Numbers
Average Statistic per 90 mins | James Maddison |
---|---|
Expected Goals | 0.21 |
Shots | 3.03 |
Shots on Target | 1.42 |
Shots in Box | 0.81 |
Expected Assists | 0.16 |
Attempted Assists | 2.43 |
Big Chance Created | 0.40 |
From the underlying numbers, Maddison has posted impressive stats over the course of the season. He had 88 per cent pass accuracy in their 2-1 loss against Bournemouth. He also had the most number of key passes in that fixture. To sum it up, he has high potential to create big chances.
Player Analysis: Maddison
The heatmap over the last 5 gameweeks indicates Maddison’s role as a central player. It can also be seen that most of his shots are taken from outside the box, or are free kicks. However, his shots inside the box have been increasing and are at 0.81 per 90 minutes.
Fixtures Analysis | Leicester
Defensive Stats (Rank) | Shots Conceded | SiB Conceded | Shots from Set Piece conceded | Big Chances Conceded | xG Conceded |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Crystal Palace | 12th | 18th | 20th | 18th | 12th |
Leeds | 9th | 10th | 17th | 16th | 13th |
Wolves | 14th | 14th | 2nd | 7th | 10th |
Leicester’s next three fixtures are – Palace, Leeds and Wolves. Wolves have a bit stronger defence as compared to the other two teams. However, Palace and Leeds are good enough fixtures for Maddison to get returns. They both are ranked in the lower half in terms of shots conceded from set pieces.

Transfer Combination 3:
TAA (7.3m) to Perisic (5.5m)
The next best transfer combination ahead of FPL GW11 is transferring out yet another Liverpool player, Trent Alexander Arnold. He has been ruled out for the next 3-4 weeks with an ankle injury. Removing Trent also frees up a lot of funds that can be used to upgrade one of your midfielders.
Perisic is a great option to get in place of Trent. Spurs have decent fixtures and has good attacking stats. He is a great option to own from the Spurs team as they have potential to keep clean sheets over the next few weeks.
Underlying Numbers
Average Statistic per 90 mins | Trent Alexander-Arnold | Ivan Perišić |
---|---|---|
Expected Goals | 0.05 | 0.04 |
Shots | 1.60 | 0.64 |
Shots on Target | 0.29 | 0.00 |
Shots in Box | 0.58 | 0.64 |
Expected Assists | 0.14 | 0.27 |
Attempted Assists | 2.04 | 2.57 |
Big Chance Created | 0.29 | 0.43 |
His goal threat is not as high as Trent’s, however, it is balanced by his high assist potential. He xA per 90 minutes, since GW1 as 0.27. Although he has a slight rotation risk considering Spurs’ other European fixtures, he should play enough games to prove his value.
Player Heatmap Comparison
From the heatmap, Perisic can be seen hugging the sideline for the most part of his game. His major source of returns are assists and goals when he is able to get into good scoring positions. His set-piece ability is also unmatched among the other full-backs in the league.
Fixtures | Spurs
Spurs have a mixed set of fixtures, with both difficult as well as easy fixtures coming up. They face United and Liverpool in GW12 and GW15 respectively. Apart from these fixtures, they have Newcastle, Bournemouth and Leeds. In GW11 they go on to face Everton who have been in poor form this season.
Conclusion – FPL GW11 Tips
- This is a good week to go for differentials in the midfield spot – as a replacement for Diaz
- It’s a good week to take a punt on captaincy as Man City go up against Liverpool – like Maddison.
- Son/Kane are the reliable options to captain this week.
- Castagne could be a good option to go for(in fit) – keep him on your watchlist.
- West Ham defenders are good enablers as fourth or fifth defenders.
