Best FPL GW30 Free Hit Drafts to Consider | Blank Gameweek 30 Guide

Free hit in FPL GW30 is a good strategy with only four fixtures happening due to FA Cup. Although only eight teams play there are plenty of good FPL options to consider in your teams. In this blog, we share a couple of different free hit drafts that will give you a birds-eye view of the different drafts that you can arrive at for your FPL team. We have also added pros and cons of free hitting based on the various scenarios that could raise from the chips used so far.

Should you free hit in FPL GW30?

There are pros and cons of free hitting in FPL GW30. But it all ultimately comes down to your team and the chips that you have. Here are our thoughts on whether you have to free hit or not based on different scenarios.

Playing free hit in FPL GW30 (Yes Scenario)

• When you have both you’re free hits left and have less than 6 players playing in FPL GW30.
• When you have only one free hit left but have only 5 players or fewer.
• When you have a decent amount of players(6+) but a lot of them play against each other. Ex: Wolves defence vs Raphinha, Aston Villa attack vs Arsenal defence.

Not playing free hit in FPL GW30 (NO Scenario)

• When you have (6-8) players before making the free transfers.
• When you have more than 7 players and still have two Free hits left.
• When you have just one free hit left and have a min of six players.
• When you have all teams covered in your existing squad.
• If you can cover kane, son/kulu, doherty ramsdale, arsenal mid, maddison/barnes.

FPL GW33 and FPL GW36/FPL GW37 could be big doubles where you can use your free hit chip(s).

Ideal FPL GW30 Free hit team composition

• 2x Spurs attackers (Kane + Son/Kulusevski)
• 1x Leeds attacker (Raphinha)
• 2x Arsenal Attacker (Saka + Odegaard/Lacazette/Martinelli)
• 1x Arsenal defence (Ramsdale/White/Tierney)
• 1x Wolves defence (Coady/Sa/Kilman/Saiss)
• 1x Spurs defender (Regulion/Doherty/White/Dier/Lloris)
• 1x Leicester attacker (Barnes/Maddison/Iheanacho)
• 1x Brentford attacker (Toney/Eriksen)
• 1x Leicester Defence (Schmeichel)
• 2x Aston Villa attackers (Coutinho/Ramsey/Ings/Watkins)
• 1x Aston Villa defender (Cash)
• 1x Wolves attacker (Jimenez)

This could be the ideal 15 man combination if you’re Freehitting in FPL GW30. Compare it with your team and if you have 2/3 of the bases covered it’s better to avoid using free hit in gameweek 30.

Few players that are a must in a GW30 Free Hit draft:

Kane plus Son/Kuluseveski as they are in form and West ham also play a crucial Europa League game mid-week as well. Spurs attack will look to exploit the stretched Hammers backline. Saka is essential as well considering the form he is in at the moment, Digne potentially being out for Villa increases the appeal of Saka. One of the Wolves defenders is essential to considering they are back defending well and play at home.

FPL GW30 Free Hit Drafts

FPL GW30 Free Hit draft one:

Pros of the draft:

• Attack heavy draft with no players in the starting 11 clashing with each other
• Attack spread out from four different teams
• Players from 5/8 teams playing in FPL GW30

Cons of the draft:

• Double Wolves defence as they have a home game(Could go wrong)
• No Villa assets in attack or defence (Considering Arsenal keep their winning run)
• Double up on Brentford which could fail(Aimed at targetting Leicester’s poor set piece defending and Brentford’s ability to score set piece goals)

FPL GW30 Free Hit draft two:

Pros of the draft:

• Spread out choices with players from six teams
• Double up on Arsenal defence
• Jimenez and Toney brought in with penalty appeal

Cons of the draft:

• Double Arsenal defence away from home
• Raphinha plays Wolves and it could end up worse with Raph not being involved and Wolves conceding (Saiss and other Wolves CB’s are however capable of a header from set piece)
• Double Spurs attack(West ham could very well sit back and defend to play out a draw considering the injuries that they have currently)

FPL GW30 Free Hit draft three:

Pros of the draft:

• Draft made up of seven teams with West ham the only team missing out.
• Draft made predominently targetting home games(Arsenal and Brenford the exceptions)

Cons of the draft:

• Triple up on Spurs attack
• Raphinha plays Wolves defence and Cash is upagainst Arsenal attack

FPL GW30 Free Hit draft four:

Pros of the draft:

• Players from six different teams with only Leeds and West ham missing
• All three forwards are penalty takers which adds to the appeal
• Aston Villa considered too keeping their form in mind inspite of the fixture

Cons of the draft:

• Five players from a single game(Villa vs Arsenal, if the CS is gone, expectation is on attacking returns from Cash and Tierney)

FPL GW30 Free Hit draft five:

Pros of the draft:

• Good differentials in Lloris, Eriksen with players from seven teams in the starting 11
• Powerhouse midfield of Son, Saka, Barnes, Eriksen and Raphinha

Cons of the draft:

• Cash upgainst Arsenal attack, Raphinha upgainst Wolves defence

Few other players that you can consider in your FH Teams:

West ham attacker(s?) maybe but you’ll have to wait till injury updates, Leicester defence if you’re confident on the CS vs Brentford, Leeds attack outside of Raphinha(Gelhardt, Bamford).
