Welcome back to this week’s Players to Buy, Hold or Sell series. Last week saw some accurate returns like Kane getting 11 points, and blanks from players under the ‘to sell’ category. In this article, let’s see this week’s picks, ahead of the double Gameweek 28.
The series will now be part of our weekly blogs with rohan writing it every week moving forward so do give him a follow on Twitter if you haven’t already. Graphics on the blog by @adsiyer(FPL Aditya)

Players to Buy ahead of FPL Gameweek 28
Antonio Rudiger(6.1m)
The first player to make it to the Players to Buy List for Gameweek 28, is Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger. Chelsea go on an amazing fixture run from next week onwards till at least Gameweek 33. They have the potential to keep clean sheets in almost all the games. Over the last six gameweeks, Rudiger’s xG/90 and xA/90 stands at 0.05 and 0.02. As for team stats, Chelsea have the least Expected Goals Conceded per appearance since Gameweek 22 at 0.6, and also the least NPxGC/appearance at 1.8. Moreover, they rank 3rd in terms of least shots conceded per appearance (since GW22), behind Liverpool and Manchester City at 7.67.
There are other options like, Reece James or Marcos Alonso from the Chelsea team, who have more attacking threat than Rudiger, however they come with a slightly more rotation risk as compared to Rudiger. Therefore having Rudiger, will help, catch almost all of the clean sheets they keep in this run.

Joseph Willock(5.7m)
Next up, in the players to buy list is, Newcastle’s midfielder, Joseph WIllcok. He is on an incredible form since the past few weeks, scoring 6, 8 and 10 FPL points in the last 3 weeks, scoring two and assisting one. Newcastle, as a team have also improved statistically. Over the last 6 weeks, Newcastle stands 6th in terms of Shots/appearance at 16.17, and Shots on Target per appearance of 4.83(Rank – 9th).
As for Willock, he has a Big Chance/90 of 0.41, xG/90 of 0.3 and xA/90 of 0.13. Out of a total of 15 shots he has taken since GW22, he has taken 9 from inside the box, and 4 were on target. With the fixtures ahead, he can easily keep up this form. He has a double in GW28, against Brighton and Southampton, making him an option to consider on a Wildcard or a Free Hit. At the ownership of just 2.2%, he could end up being an amazing differential as well. Also, there are many great options available from the similar bracket, making the switch from Willock to any other player, a relatively easier one.

Players to Hold ahead of FPL Gameweek 28
Alexandre Lacazette(8.3m)
In the Players to Hold List for this week, Arsenal’s striker, Lacazatte is the first name. Although, he has not returned as much as expected, Arsenal still have great fixtures left, along with being one of the few teams who double in Gameweek 29, and then go out to play in the Blank Gameweek 30. He has an xG/90 of 0.4 and xA/90 of 0.35 (since GW22). From a per 90 shots of 4.60, he has 0.78 on Target and 3.91 from inside the box.
Arsenal face Watford this week and have a double against Leicester and Liverpool in GW29, making their options great facilitator in both weeks, for a potential bench boost. Also, Arsenal face only 2 teams from the tradition top 6 teams, with 2 more games, yet to be rescheduled, indicating, that they’ll surely get more double game weeks this season.

Raphinha(6.5m)
Although Leeds are in their, arguably, worst form of the season, loosing, 4-2, 6-0 and 4-0 in back to back gameweeks, keeping Raphinha in our teams could still come good. They have a double against Leicester and Aston Villa this week, Norwich in GW29 and a game against Wolves in GW30.
Since GW22, Raphinha has an xG/90 of 0.14 and xA/90 of 0.35, with a Big Chance/90 of 0.17. He has been Lee’s best player this season, scoring a total of 104 points so far. Therefore, I would suggest holding him for the next 3 weeks, as he can still prove his worth.

Players to Sell ahead of FPL Gameweek 28
Odsonne Edouard(6.5m)
Edouard was a great pick around the mid season, however, his form has been dipping ever since. He scored his last goal in GW 23, in the 1-3 loss against Liverpool. In the next five, Crystal Palace face Wolves, Manchester City and Arsenal. Also, Crystal Palace ranks last in terms of Shots taken per appearance since GW22, at 7.86 shots, and second last in terms of Shots inside the box, at 5.14 shots.
His current xG/90 and xA/90 (since GW22), stands at o.13 and 0.11 respectively, which has dipped considerably as compared to his earlier stats. To give context, his xG/90 and xA/90 during, GW18-GW22, stood at 0.49 and 0.13 respectively. Therefore, despite good fixtures after GW32, I would suggest selling him for now.

Jarrod Bowen(7.1m)
The second player in the Players to Sell List is, yet again, Jarrod Bowen. West Ham have difficult fixtures up ahead, and are ranked In the bottom half in the Fantasy Football Hub Fixture Ticker, from GW28 to GW33. West Ham ranks 14th in terms of Shots taken per appearance over the last 6 weeks, indicating a dip in their form.
Bowen’s current xG/90 and xA/90, since GW22, at 0.4 and 0.16 respectively, which was 0.62 and 0.44 respectively, during GW18-GW22. Reacting to this dip, although he is highly owned, transferring him out for punts like Willock, or even Raphinha or Mount could be beneficial.
