FPL GW19 Fixture Wise Stats Review
Manchester City (3.44) 6 – 3 (2.54) Leicester City
Manchester City against Leicester was an incredible game. Foden and Grealish started on the bench again for their disciplinary issues while injury-ravaged Leicester had Vardy on the bench.
Raheem Sterling (10.6m, MID) had 3 big chances and 3 shots, all inside the box for a game-high xG of 1.42.
Mahrez (8.6m, MID) had 5 shots, 3 inside the box, 1 ‘big chance’, and created 2 chances for an impressive xGI of 1.19.
Ilkay Gundogan (7.3m, MID) always looks threatening on the eye test and it was no different here again, the German midfielder had 2 shots, 1 inside the box, and a big chance for an xG of 0.49.
Leicester had an impressive flurry at the start of the second half where they fought back from 4-0 to 4-3 led by James Maddison and Kelechi Iheanacho.
Maddison (6.8m, MID) had 6 shots, 3 from inside the box, 1 ‘big chance’, created 3 chances including a big chance for an xGI of 0.61.
Kelechi Iheanacho (6.9m, FWD) had 3 shots, all from inside the box, 2 ‘big chances’ and created 2 ‘big chances’ for an xGI of 1.24.
Tottenham Hotspur (2.29) 3 – 0 (0.21) Crystal Palace
Lucas Moura (6.4m, MID) shone against a COVID-hit Crystal Palace team who lost Zaha to a first-half red card. He had 5 shots, 4 from inside the box, 2 big chances, 3 chances created including 2 big chances for an xGI of 1.39.
Emerson Royal (4.9m, DEF) had 1 shot from inside the box and 4 chances created including 1 big chance for a solid xGI of 0.81 mainly made up of his xA of 0.75.
Son (10.4m, MID) had 2 shots, 1 from inside the box including a big chance, and 2 chances created for an xGI of 0.56.
Harry Kane (12.1m, FWD) had 2 shots both from inside the box including 1 big chance for an xGI of 0.49.
Aston Villa (0.41) 1 – 3 (2.74) Chelsea
Romelu Lukaku changed the game as a halftime substitute, scoring a quality header to give Chelsea the lead and winning a late penalty for 3. Chelsea still haven’t quite clicked into gear and had 2 penalties again this game but the return to fitness of Lukaku looks a big boost.
Jorginho’s xG comes mainly from his 2 penalties.
Callum Hudson-Odoi, fit again, (5.3m, MID) had a very strong showing and it’s likely he might have the left-wing spot won for the near future but with so much attacking talent at Chelsea’s disposal, his minutes will always be a worry. He had 3 shots, all from inside the box with 1 big chance and he also created 1 big chance for an xGI of 0.71.
Mason Mount (7.7m, MID) has consistently been Chelsea’s best attacker this season and he had another strong showing here with 2 shots, both from inside the box including a big chance and created 1 chance for an xGI of 0.53.
Watkins had an xG of 0.29 from 1 shot, taken inside the box while Matty Cash (5.0, DEF) had an xGI of 0.20 from 1 shot taken inside the box and 3 chances created.
