UCL’21/22 is finally back again after a two weeks long international break. Which certainly brings joy to fantasy managers all over the world. In this article, I have analyzed the Top Captaincy Picks ahead of UCL Fantasy MD3. Hopefully, it will help you secure good ranks.
Out of the remaining four matchdays in the group stages, MD3 and MD4 are identical. There will be no home-away advantages this season as declared by FIFA. The home/away atmosphere will have a much bigger role to play.
For me, UCL MD2 was not so good in terms of fantasy points. Nevertheless, MD3 seems promising with a bunch of mouth-watering clashes. Let’s jump right to it.

Top UCL Fantasy MD3 Captaincy Picks
Erling Haaland vs Ajax (19th Oct) –
Haaland was certainly missed by Dortmund as well as fantasy managers at MD2. However, the Norwegian has recovered from his injury and managed to start against Mainz.
Playing a full 90 minutes, he has managed to find the back of the net twice. He has come back exactly where he left. His stellar goal-scoring form has put him back in the fantasy armband race.
Dortmund will be playing Ajax away from home. Both teams have kept an organized defense conceding only a goal in previous MDs. With 21 goals in just 17 UCL games for the Dortmund talisman, that is certainly going to change.
Bellingham and Marco Rues are also the key players worth mentioning. They are the playmakers and will have a good impact on the game.

Kylian Mbappe vs Leipzig (19th Oct) –
Paris St. Germain’s Mbapee came back on after 3 since his sublime assist to Leo Messi’s stunner on MD2 against Man City. That was the first goal of Messi in PSG shirt. And what a goal it was!!
The Nations league’21 winner has since scored three goals and provided three assists for the club and country. That is six direct goal contributions in the last 3 matches.
Paris is going to host a weak RB Leipzig side at their home. Leipzig has conceded 8 goals, more than any other team so far.
Though they have put back 3 against Man City, there will be plenty of chances to score and win for PSG. Kylian Mbappe will certainly be in the thick of it.
Furthermore, coach M. Pochettino will undoubtedly look for Messi, Neymar, Mbappe trio to click again in this game. This could turn into a goal-fest.

Karim Adeyemi vs Wolfsburg (20th Oct) –
Austrian side Salzburg is sitting at the top of Group G with 4pts in 2 matches. A lot of the credits go to their wonderboy Karim Adeyemi netting two past Lille.
Moreover, he has bagged two Player of the Match awards and earned 4 penalties in the last two UCL MDs. Indeed a mind-boggling record for a 19-year-old to have.
Salzburg plays against the unorganized Wolfsburg side at their home. The German side has failed to secure a win in this season’s UCL. Adeyemi will surely hunt for another POM award to complete his hattrick.
Key talents in the likes of Sucic, Nissen under coach Jaissle is undoubtedly going to help Salzburg to secure their spot in the knockout stages.

Robert Lewandoski vs Benfica (20th Oct) –
Robert Lewandowski joins the top contenders of captaincy pick once again without much surprise. His constant and relentless goal-scoring prowess continued both in Bundesliga and UCL.
The Pole has already scored four goals in the first two MDs in the group stage. That comes to thirteen goals and an assist in 10 matches this season.
Bayern will travel to Benfica next. The home side has managed to keep the clean sheet in UCL so far. That will surely be about to change when the prolific no. 9 is on the pitch.
Success for Bayern still continues with Nagelsmann in charge of the ship. Stars like Gnabry, Sane, Mueller, and Phonzie are also expected to be on the scoresheet after their 5-1 haul against Leverkusen.
