Arsenal GW15 Predicted lineup:

Raya

White – Timber – Hincapie – Calafiori

Zubimendi – Odegaard

Saka Eze Martinelli

Merino

Notes/Injury Updates:

  • Rice was forced off in the final stages of Arsenal’s 2-1 win over Brentford midweek and it is uncertain whether the England international will be available this weekend. He will be assessed ahead of Saturday’s game against Aston Villa.
  • Arteta on Rice post-Brentford (via football.london): “Yes, obviously it’s never good news. Declan had to come off. We don’t know. We have to see tomorrow what he’s got.”
  • Mosquera is the latest to join Arsenal’s growing injury list after appearing to endure an ankle injury against Brentford. He is out for this weekend, along with Gabriel and Saliba, leaving Arteta with a dearth of options in defence. Timber is expected to start as CB, with White starting at RB.
  • Arteta on Mosquera after Brentford: “And Mosquera is the other one that is out. Obviously we have big Gabi [Gabriel Magalhaes] and Willy [William Saliba] out as well. So we have to adapt. It’s been a theme of this season. But when I look at the players, they haven’t been playing much.”
  • Trossard picked up a calf injury against Bayern Munich last week but he should return soon. He could potentially be available this weekend.
  • Arteta on Trossard: “Matter of days as well.”
  • Arteta on Havertz’s progress: “Matter of weeks; letโ€™s see how it evolves in the next few weeks. Heโ€™s doing really well, heโ€™s doing stuff on the pitch, but I think he needs some time.”

He accepts his role. He signed here to be the sub of Emi Martinez. He is ready when he is available and awaits his moment. Here, for the goalkeeper, it is very difficult to defend corners. How he saved the last action was fantastic. He is so mature and responsible.”
  • Mings is out for at least a month more with a hamstring injury.
  • Barkley is out for 8-12 weeks after sustaining a grade 2 knee sprain against last weekend (via The Athletic’s Jacob Tanswell):
