FPL GW13 Transfer Targets & Watchlist Based on Eye Test & Stats

Welcome to this week’s transfer targets and watchlist, where we look at a few players to target ahead of GW13 and also a few players to target and keep an eye on for the upcoming Gameweeks. The list has three players, one forward, defender, and midfielder each, who are expected to perform well this week, given both form and opposition, these will be “Transfer Targets of FPL GW13”. The list also contains one forward, defender, and midfielder each who should be on your watchlist for the upcoming Gameweeks, again, a combination of form and fixtures.

FPL GW13 Transfer Targets

Igor Thiago – £6.5m – 16.1%

FPL GW13 Transfer Targets - Igor Thiago

To start the list off this week, is the same man who started last week’s list off. Igor Thiago is having a breakout season and is slowly becoming one of the essential players to have in your team.

In the last 5 Gameweeks, he has only blanked once. With 5 goals, 32 points in his last five games, Thiago’s goal-scoring tally is only bettered by Erling Haaland this season. He is on penalties and could have scored two against Brighton, if he had not missed the last-minute penalty.

He is the focal point of Bretford’s attack with 15 big chances given to him (3rd highest in the league). He has converted 8 of these 15 chances, which is more than a 50% conversion rate. He averages about 2.5 shots per 90, with 2.31 of them coming from inside the box.

Brentford play Burnley at home in the next Gameweek, who have conceded 24 goals in their first 12 games.

Elliot Anderson – £5.3m – 3.1%

FPL GW13 Transfer Targets - Anderson

An early favorite of most FPL players, Elliot Anderson looks like he is going to find a place back in our teams. Just like Thiago, he has also blanked only once in his last 5 games, scoring one goal and providing one assist.

Not only is he only priced at 5.3, but he also averages around 13 defcons per game, crossing the threshold 7 out of 12 Gameweeks, in addition to his 3 goal contributions. He is also on set-piece duty for Forest.

Data from Fantasy Football Hub(Sign up today for heatmap, Opta stats, predicted points, and more)

Anderson DEFCON numbers this season(Game by game): 16, 13, 16, 11, 12, 10, 16, 15, 15, 11, 11, 11

He averages 1.13 shots and 1.5 key passes per 90, and with Forest finally getting used to Sean Dyche’s tactics, he could be a key player in the upcoming fixtures. Forest starting from GW13 play Brighton (H), Wolves (A), Everton (A), Tottenham (H,) and Fulham (A), all of which are fixtures where Anderson has the ability to return.

Get him before others do!

Nico O’Reilly – £5.0 – 4.3%

FPL GW13 Watchlist - Nico O'Reilly

The last player in this list is Manchester City’s Nico O’Reilly. In just 777 minutes this season, Nico O’Reilly has already become one of Pep Guardiola’s best and most trusted players this season. Initially, due to Ait-Nouri’s injury, O’Reilly was brought into the squad, but now it looks like Ait-Nouri will be the one fighting for a spot in the eleven once he is back to full fitness.

Note: O’Reilly was rested in the midweek UCL game vs Leverkusen where City lost 0-2. This was a game when most of the first choice players like Haaland, Foden, Cherki, Doku were all rested and didn’t start. O Reilly came on as a substitute at half time though.

O’Reilly Stats over the last 6 Gameweeks: (Rank among Defenders)

  • Shots- 9 (1st)
  • Shots inside the box- 8 (1st)
  • xGI- 1.5 (3rd)
  • Goal Involvements- 3 (Joint 2nd)
  • Chances created- 7 (5th)
  • Big Chances Created- 3(2nd)
  • FPL Points- 37(3rd)

It is also worth noting that Ait-Nouri will go for AFCON, freeing up space for Nico. He has 3 goal contributions this season and has averaged 1.39 shots, 1.04 key passes, and 7.2 defcons per 90. While his defcons are quite low for a defender, his attacking potential, mixed with City’s brilliant fixture run, cannot be ignored.

Heatmap from Fantasy Football Hub(Sign up today for heatmap, Opta stats, predicted points, and more)

They play Leeds (H), Fulham (A), Sunderland (H), Crystal Palace (A), and West Ham (H) in their next five, and O’Reilly could probably start 4/5 if not all 5 games.

FPL GW13 Watchlist

Danny Welbeck – £6.6m – 10.1%

FPL GW13 Watchlist - Welbeck

Another player who has featured previously on this list, Danny Welbeck, continues to perform beyond his age. He is currently on 7 goals from just 804 minutes this season (less than 10 full games!), averaging 2.01 shots per 90.

He has been on the receiving end of 8 big chances (5th highest in the league) and with Minteh also in great form, we could see this number going higher and higher as the gameweeks go on. He is also the most likely penalty taker from Brighton’s current starting eleven, adding to his allure.

Comparison from Fantasy Football Hub(Sign up today for heatmap, Opta stats, predicted points, & more)

While he is around the same price bracket as Thiago, he is owned by just 10.1% of players at the time of writing. In their next few fixtures, Brighton play Forest (A), Aston Villa (H), West Ham (H), Liverpool (A), and Sunderland (H).

Just like Elliot Anderson, he is a bit of a hidden gem on whom you should look to capitalize before it is too late.

Bruno Guimarães – £6.6 – 3.9%

FPL GW13 Watchlist - Bruno G

At the same price point as Welbeck, Bruno Guimaraes is another player who has impressed in recent weeks. He has returned in all of his last four gameweeks, scoring a total of 28 points with 2 double-digit hauls.

He has 7 goal contributions this season with 4 assists and 3 goals. While he has crossed the defcon threshold once this season, averaging 8.8 defcons per 90, it’s his G/A threat that is more impressive. In his last 2 seasons with Newcastle, he has G/A in double digits in both seasons, which looks like it will continue this season too.

He averages 1.37 shots and 1.46 key passes per 90, and with Newcastle’s upcoming fixtures having a few favorable matchups, including Everton (A) in GW13, Tottenham (H) in GW14 and Burnley (H) in GW15, he is certainly one to watch out for!

Michael Keane – £4.5m – 1.5%

FPL GW13 Transfer Targets - Keane

Everton have looked shaky in some games this season, but despite that are currently 11th on the table. While many expected James Tarkowski to be the big scoring defender for the Toffees this season, it is Keane who has already scored 65 points, outscoring his partner by 14 points.

In his last 4 games, he has scored 25 points, averaging more than 6 points a game. He is currently averaging 9.58 defcons per 90 and has crossed the threshold 6 out of 12 games this season. He also averages 0.85 shots and has already scored 2 goals this season.

Data from Fantasy Football Hub(Sign up today for heatmap, Opta stats, predicted points, and more)

Keane is a defensive monster and also a set-piece threat. His price point of just 4.5 allows you to bench him when needed and frees up funds for other premium assets. Everton’s next few fixtures are not the most appealing, but if rotated well Keane can provide you with those invaluable points.
