Welcome back to another season of captaincy metrics from us, this will be the 5th full season we’ll be doing it on the blog. A huge shout to the man behind the metrics, @AK_FPL1(Do follow him on Twitter/X). Captaincy is once going to be a crucial factor this season, and the popular gameweek 1 captaincy options include Salah, Haaland, Bowen, Watkins, and Palmer. Let’s see who tops the very first captaincy metrics of the season.
Will it be Haaland or Salah, or someone else?
Last season, the metrics finished with 686 pts(26/38 returns), the metrics had a “26/38 returns record” in the 23/24 season, 31/37 “returns record” in the 22/23 season, and “30/38 returns record” in the 21/22 season. Do follow the man behind the metrics @AK_FPL1(Do follow him on Twitter)
Note: “Returns” ~ player topping the metrics getting points returns and not necessarily the highest scoring option of the week.
