Quick refresher on points scoring in Fanteam

Before looking at the best budget enablers and value picks, let’s quickly look at the points scoring differences between Fanteam and FPL.

FanTeam EPL Fantasy - Points scoring
  • Points for the player if the team is winning(+0.3 pts) or losing(-0.3 pts) while the player is on the pitch
  • Extra point if a midfielder or forward plays the full match(+1 point)
  • Points for the shots on target for every player, depending on the position(Forward/Mid: 0.4, Defenders: 0.6, Goalkeeper: 1)
  • Negative points for a foul resulting in a penalty(-2)/scoring a free kick(-2)
  • +0.5 points for every Goalkeeper save made

FanTeam EPL Fantasy Budget/Value Picks:

Goalkeepers:

FanTeam EPL Fantasy - Goalkeepers
  • Leno, Verbruggen, and Kelleher are the standout budget goalkeepers in Fanteam. Leno was the fifth-highest scoring goalkeeper in Fanteam last season with 140.3 points. Fanteam offers 0.5 points per save, Leno made 110 saves last season and picked up 55 points in the process.
  • Kelleher is another good option at 4.5 million. Last season, Flekken was the 3rd highest scoring goalkeeper(164.4 pts), he was also first for saves in the Premier League (153 saves). Kelleher replaces Flekken this season at Bentford, and he’s an even better shot stopper and should pick up save points consistently.
  • Verbruggen at 4.5 million is our 3rd Fanteam goalkeeper value pick for the 25/26 season. Verbruggen offers good CS + decent save potential.

Defenders

4.0 defenders: Esteve, Reinildo, and Ballard are the standout 4.0 million defenders in Fanteam, with Esteve the most nailed amongst the three. Brentford full-back Hickey is also at 4.0 million and offers good attacking threat, but he’s not a guaranteed starter, and he is making a comeback from a long injury.

PS: Don’t rely too much on 4.0 defenders and just have them as bench options, as there are no DEFCON points in Fanteam like FPL.

4.5 Defenders:

FanTeam EPL Fantasy - Defenders
  • Best 4.5 Defender options in Fanteam: Tarkowski, Mykolenko, Richards, De Cuyper, Andersen, Dunk, Kayode, Truffert, Lacroix, Diouf.
  • Everton and Palace defenders are kindly priced in Fanteam, with Tarkowski, Mykolenko, Lacroix, and Richards all great options with both teams being decent defensively.
  • Lacroix, in fact, is 5th for xG & 1st for Headed Attempts amongst defenders last season, and Palace are top half of the table for xGC, Goals Conceded & clean sheet last season.
  • West Ham’s new wing-back Diouf is an exciting option at 4.5 million, Wan Bissaka is 5.0 million in Fanteam, and Diouf could be a cheap alternative. Diouf operates in the LWB role and was sensational in their last friendly vs Bournemouth, picking up an assist, and his cross led to the first goal. Last season, he had 10 attacking contributions.
  • Two other attacking defender options include, Brighton’s De Cuyper and Bournemouth’s Truffert. Truffert is the starting LB for Bournemouth (very attacking full back) and was signed as their Kerkez replacement. He has registered 21 Goal Contributions(5 Goals and 16 Assists) over the last 3 seasons. De Cuyper is most likely the starting LB/LWB for Brighton, with Estupinan leaving for AC Milan. Very attacking, 75 attacking returns across 220 club career appearances. Not great starting fixtures. The problem with both Truffert and De Cuyper is that their opening fixtures aren’t that great!

Midfielders:

FanTeam EPL Fantasy - Midfielders

6.5 midfielders:

  • Rice – Declan Rice at 6.5 million is a good option in Fanteam, Arsenal are title contenders and will win a lot of games(Winning points), defensively strong(CS points), and he’ll likely play 90 minutes in most games(bonus point for playing all 90 mins in a game). He also had 11 goal involvements last season, which are decent for a 6.5 million asset, making him a solid pick in Fanteam.
  • Ndiaye – He is a penalty taker at Everton and costs only 6.5 million, which is a great price for a penalty taker. Everton fixtures are good to begin the season as well.
  • Mitoma – He is another option in the 6.5 million price point, offering good value. Brighton are an attacking team as well, which bodes well for Mitoma’s attacking returns.

6.0 Midfielders:

  • Schade – Key attacker for Brentford with 11 goals and 4 assists last season, loves taking a shot on goal, his 27 shots on target last season are only 2 less than Bruno Fernandes. Each shot on target offers +0.4 points for attackers in Fanteam
  • Bruno Guimares – Another option that offers points through multiple avenues, he registered 152.4 pts last season, highest amongst midfielders priced 6.0 or lower this season.
  • Minteh – Brighton attacker who had a decent first season, scored 2 goals in Brighton’s last pre-season friendly against Southampton. The Seagulls attacker picked up 11 goal contributions(6 goals, 5 assists) last season from an xGI of 9.12 in just 20 starts. His minutes might not be guaranteed, though, with the Seagulls having plenty of attackers.
  • Tielemans – Another 90 minutes, man, and he could also be on penalties as well. Last season, he hit 139.7 points on Fanteam, 18.7 more than his FPL points.

5.5 Midfielders:

  • Lucas Paqueta – Paqueta is finally free from his betting charges and could have a great season. He’s also most likely on penalties and plays 90 minutes in most games.
  • Harry Wilson – Wilson is having a sensational pre-season with five goals and one assist, and offers good value at 5.5 million. The potential issues with Wilson is that he’s injury-prone and often is subbed off, Fulham also have a bunch of attackers, so he might not be a guaranteed starter in the long run.
  • Adingra – Adingra who has moved to Sunderland, is potentially a decent asset. His minutes will be guaranteed, but Sunderland have made a lot of new signings, so they might take time to gel together.

5.0 Midfielders:

Pape Sarr, Marcus Edwards, Xhaka, Dewsbury-Hall, and Caicedo are five decent options in the 5.0 million range. Caicedo is the one who stands out, he completed 90 minutes in 33/38 games last season, which means he bagged 33 points just by playing 90 minutes. In FPL last season, Caicedo had only 98 points, but in fanteam he bagged 128.8 pts, a difference of 30 pts. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is a decent shout too and has signed for Everton from Chelsea.

4.5 Midfielders:

Just like 4.0 defenders, there isn’t much potential in 4.5 midfielders in Fanteam, you should potentially see them as bench options who can cover a game/two in the worst scenario of multiple players in your team not playing. The standout options are Kamara, Baleba, Stach, Jensen, Enzo Le Fee, Yarmolyuk, Tyler Adams, and Gueye

Fanteam New Customer Offer

Fanteam are also offering a new customer offer: If you deposit a minimum of 10 pounds and play any cash game, you’ll get a free £10 EPL Season Game entry and £20 in fantasy tickets(10* 2 pounds)

Forwards:

FanTeam EPL Fantasy - Forwards

6.5 Forwards:

  • Evanilson – Bournemouth forward is actually 0.5 million less in Fanteam than in FPL, which further improves his appeal, besides LIV(A) in GW1, his fixtures are decent too.
  • Niclas Fullkrug – Fullkrug could have a good season for the Hammers. He’s free from injuries and has scored 2 goals in West Ham’s last two friendlies against Everton and Bournemouth.
  • Jorgen Larsen – Cunha is gone, and Larsen is now the talisman for Wolves and will have penalties too. Last season, the young forward bagged 14 goals and picked up 4 assists.

6.0 Forwards:

  • Welbeck – Premier League Veteran should be a good option and has been generously priced at only 6.0 million. With João Pedro gone, he might get penalties too, last season, he had 15 goal involvements(10 goals + 5 assists in just 15 starts)
  • Raul Jimenez – Raul had a very good 24/25 season, scoring 12 goals, his 33 shots on target were the 9th highest amongst forwards last season. Fulham are a decent attacking side too, if Muniz leaves, Raul becomes an even better pick as it improves his xMins.
  • Piroe – Leeds striker, he’s been in good form in pre-season with 4 goals in 4 pre-season games

5.5 Forwards:

  • Rutter – Brighton attacker Rutter is a forward in Fanteam and is also 0.5 cheaper in Fanteam(6.0 in FPL). The German attacker also had 11 goal contributions(5 goals, 6 assists) in 19 starts last season.
  • Igor Thiago – Only an option if Wissa leaves, wait and watch for now

5.0 Forwards:

This is the cheapest slot in Fanteam, and there are hardly any options. Broja at Burnley and Guiu at Sunderland could be the only ones to consider in this price range.

That’s it from us in this blog, good luck with the Fanteam season game.
