FPL GW32 Captaincy Metrics
FPL GW32 Captaincy poll ~ Wisdom Of the Crowd

Isak tops the captaincy poll this week ahead of two home games against Man United(H) and Crystal Palace(H). Teammate Murphy who scored a brace in GW31 on Monday night, is 2nd in the captaincy poll. Mateta is 3rd in the captaincy poll and will be up against Man City(A) and Newcastle(A). The top five in the captaincy poll is completed by Salah and Palmer, even though they don’t double the premium midfielders have good home games with Salah up against West Ham(H) and Palmer up against Ipswich(H)

Underlying Numbers of the FPL Gameweek 32 Captain picks

Mateta tops the table with an xG of 3.76 in the last six games, including 7 big chances, which is the highest amongst the five players.
Salah is 2nd in the table with an xG of 3.28 in the last six games and is 2nd for big chances(6). Salah is top for goal attempts in the box(12) and chances created(17)
Palmer is 3rd with an xG of 3.20, 12 goal attempts in the box, 7 chances created, and 4 big chances in the last six games.
The in-form Jacob Murphy is fourth with an xG of 2.88 and has had four big chances in the last six games. Surprisingly, Isak is only 5th in the table with an xG of 2.17 in the last six games.

Underlying Numbers of the Candidate’s Teams

The Reds take the first spot with an xG of 12.0 in the last six games and have had 73 shots inside the box and 18 big chances during the period.
The Eagles are second with 11.93 xG over the last six games, they have also had 56 goal attempts in the box and 18 big chances.
Newcastle rank 3rd for xG amongst the five teams, registering 9.56 xG in the six games. They have also had a healthy 49 shots inside the box and 14 big chances
Chelsea are last on the table with an xG of 9.34, 56 shots inside the box & 17 big chances.

Fixture Difficulty of the candidate team in FPL GW32

In the Third Phase of the Article, we look at the Fixture Difficulty of our 5 Candidates.
We will use DraftHound’s odds for a Team scoring at least one goal in the Gameweek and the Odds of Scoring more than 2.0 goals in the Gameweek as a whole.
Newcastle United are first with a 95.17%% odds of at least 1 goal and 56% odds of scoring 2+ goals in FPL GW32 vs Man United(H) and Crystal Palace(H)
Chelsea are third with 88% odds of at least 1 goal and 52% odds of scoring 2+ goals against Iswpich(H), the blues have strong odds despite playing only once in GW32 and its mainly down to the easy game vs relegation candidates Ipswich.
Liverpool are fourth with 87% odds of at least 1 goal and 48% odds of scoring 2+ goals against West Ham(H)
Crystal Palace are last despite their double with 85.6% odds of at least 1 goal and 20.8% odds of scoring 2+ goals in FPL GW32 and it’s mainly down to the tricky away games against Man City and Newcastle United.

Projections Rank of our FPL Gameweek 32 Captain Picks

In the Fourth Phase of the article, I have used the Anytime Returns and Projected Points Tools available at Fantasy Football Hub. With the help of the Anytime Returns Tool, I have derived the Safety Rank, which helps in determining the Safest Captaincy Option of the week, while I have used the Projected Points Tool to determine the Explosion Rank, which helps in determining the Most Explosive Option of the week.
Isak is first for projections this week with 89% anytime returns & a 13.6 points projection in FPL DGW32.
Mateta is second this week with 71% anytime returns & a 10.2 points projection in FPL DGW32.
Murphy meanwhile is 3rd and has a 71% anytime returns & a 9.2 points projection in DGW32.
Salah is also 4th understandably as he doesn’t double and has a 71% anytime returns & a 8.6 points projection in FPL GW32 against West Ham(H)
Palmer is last with a 67% anytime return & a 7.1 points projection in GW32 vs Ipswich(H)

Conclusion – Final Rank from our FPL Gameweek 32 Captaincy metrics

In the Fifth and Final Phase of the article, I have aggregated the Ranks derived above to pull out the Cumulative Rank Factor (CRF). According to our captaincy metrics, the candidate with the lowest cumulative rank factor is the ideal captaincy option.
Mateta and Isak are joint top in our FPL Gameweek 32 captaincy metrics this week with a CRF of 10. Salah and Murphy are 2nd with a CRF of 11, and Palmer is last with a CRF of 16.
