FPL GW29 Free Hit Guide
FPL GW29 Fixtures

Players to Target in GW29 Free Hit:

- Goal Keepers: Sels, Sa, Onana, Leno, Pickford
- Defenders: Aina, Ait Nouri, Gabriel, Milenkovic, Maguire, Gvardiol, Tarkowski, Kerkez, Wan-Bissaka, Cresswell and Agbadou(4.0 Enabler Defenders)
- Midfielders: Bruno Fernandes, Mbeumo, Palmer, Foden, Savinho, Bowen, Gibbs White, Kluivert, Minteh, Mitoma, Son, Elanga, Nwaneri(Enabler)
- Forwards: Haaland, Wood, Marmoush, Wissa, Joao Pedro, Raul Jimenez, Beto
Pros of GW29 Free Hit:
- All the teams that are blanking in GW29- Liverpool, Newcastle, Villa, and Palace have good fixtures after the Blank Gameweek(as seen in the below images). If you have 5-6 players from these teams like Isak, TAA, Salah, Munoz, Mateta, Sarr, and Rogers – Free Hit in GW29 can help you navigate the Blank and hold these reliable assets for the good fixtures coming up.
- Palace and Newcastle have a confirmed Double Gameweek 32
- Palace are likely to get another Double Gameweek in GW33 if they beat Fulham in the FA Cup.
- Aston Villa are very likely to get a Double Gameweek in GW33 if either Villa beat Preston or Manchester City beat Bournemouth in the FA Cup which is very likely to happen.
Good fixtures for Teams Blanking in GW29 after the Blank Gameweek:
Liverpool fixtures after GW29:

Newcastle fixtures after GW29:

Aston Villa fixtures after GW29:

On top of this, Villa are also likely to get DGW33 vs Newcastle(H), and Man City(A) if Aston Villa beat Preston (OR) Manchester City beat Bournemouth in FA Cup QFs.
Palace fixtures after GW29:

On Top of this, Palace are likely to get a Double Gameweek 33 vs Bournemouth(H), and Arsenal(A)if Palace beat Fulham in FA Cup QFs.
Cons of GW29 Free Hit:
- There might not be a high upside week(Not a 100+ points week) to use the Free Hit Chip as most of the players with High points potential like Salah, TAA, Isak, Gordon, Mateta, and Munoz all blank in GW29. Wolves play Southampton in GW29 but their Talisman Cunha is suspended.
- Manchester City play Leicester City in GW30 which is a great fixture to chase the upside. So it might be a good strategy to get them through Free Transfers and save them up for a tempting GW30 fixture.
- GW33 Free Hit might be a high upside week to use the Free Hit Chip with 6 Teams likely to Double – Manchester City, Aston Villa, Brighton, West Ham, (Palace and Arsenal) or (Fulham and Southampton). That would be even better if Fulham beat Palace in the FA Cup Quarter Finals. That would mean you can get Triple Fulham on Free Hit in GW33 vs Chelsea(H), and Southampton(A) and have the Palace players for the Double in GW32 and for the fixture in Blank Gameweek 34.
- You need to start planning for the Blank Gameweek 34 right from GW30 onwards with Free Transfers if you don’t use Wildcard in GW34 or already used it. That might be a little difficult considering you will have 2 Double Gameweeks- GW32 and GW33 in between.
So it has both pros and cons of using Free Hit in GW29. It is totally team-dependent and Chip Strategy dependent if you want to use the Free Hit Chip in GW29 or not. We analyze the other windows to play the Free Hit and also the potential GW29 Free Hit Drafts to help you take the decision and set up your team.
Other windows to Play Free Hit:
GW34 Free Hit:
- Blank Gameweek with 6-8 Teams Blanking in GW34. 6 Teams Blanking in GW34 if Man City beat Bournemouth or if Preston beat Villa. If neither Man City nor Preston win then there’ll be 8 Teams blanking in GW34.
- Teams confirmed to have a fixture in GW34(As it stands): Liverpool, Spurs, Chelsea, Everton, Wolves, Leicester City, Newcastle and Ipswich Town. More Teams are likely to join in after the FA Cup Quarter Finals which is explained here:

GW33 Free Hit:
- Likely Double Gameweek with 4-6 Teams likely to Double- Manchester City, Aston Villa, Brighton, West Ham, (Palace and Arsenal) or (Fulham and Southampton). It could be just 4 Teams if Brighton lose to Forest in the FA Cup. In that case, Brighton and West Ham won’t have a Double Gameweek in GW33.

Possible Chip Strategy for Free Hit in GW29:
Have already used Assistant Manager Chip:
Free Hit | GW29 |
Wildcard | GW34/GW35 |
Triple Captain | GW32/GW33 |
Bench Boost | GW33/GW36 |
If you have already used the Assistant Manager chip and committed to using Free Hit in GW29, This looks to be the best strategy. Wildcarding in GW34/GW35 will allow you to navigate Blank Gameweek 34 and Double Gameweek 36.
You should plan for Double Gameweek 32 and Double Gameweek 33 with Free Transfers. Free Transfers leading up to GW32 should involve you getting players from Newcastle, Palace, Aston Villa and Manchester City. Newcastle and Palace have a confirmed Double in GW32. Palace have good chances of a Double in GW33 as well if they beat Fulham in the FA Cup. Manchester City and Aston Villa are very likely to Double in GW33!
Have already used Triple Captain Chip:
Free Hit | GW29 |
Wildcard | GW34/GW35 |
Assistant Manager | GW31-GW33 |
Bench Boost | GW36 |

FPL GW29 Free Hit Drafts
FPL GW29 Free Hit Draft 1

Players who are must-own in every GW29 Free Hit Draft(in our opinion):

- Haaland is getting back to form with 7 goals, and 2 assists from the last 9 games with just 2 blanks. He can help free hitters to gain overall rank as Non-Free Hitters with Salah+Palmer+TAA will find it difficult to get him or will require hits to transfer him into their teams.
- Wood – The Highest scoring Forward in the game(18 goals, 3 assists) up against Ipswich who are ranked 19th for xGC and 18th for Goals Conceded this season. No Brainer pick.
- Mbeumo – On Penalties, High ownership. Good underlying numbers and Brentford’s attack has improved as well.
- Bruno Fernandes – Talisman, On Penalties and Drives everything for Manchester United. In form as well with 2 goals, and 2 assists from the last 3 fixtures. Up against Leicester City who are ranked 19th for Goals Conceded and 18th for xGC this season.
- Ait Nouri the most attacking Wolves Defender up against the worst attacking side in the League- Southampton.
- Aina/Milenkovic – Good entry into Forest defense vs Ipswich Town. Both Aina and Milenkovic carry decent attacking threat as well.
Others players in this Draft:

- Kluivert and Bowen complete the midfield. Kluivert has 3 returns from the last 4 games and 10 returns from the last 8 games. On penalties, in form, and taking shots at will he is almost under the must-own category. Kluivert also should have got a goal vs Spurs in GW28 having hit the post. Bowen has 2 Double Digit hauls in the last 4 games(Article written before the Newcastle game) and has been influential and reliable ever since Potter came into the mix.
- Evanilson is also an option to consider ahead of Kluivert if you are chasing ranks but Evanilson might not play the full 90 minutes as he is just returning from injury and Kluivert also being on penalties edges it out.
- Savinho is the Differential Pick from Manchester City in this draft. If you are confident that Marmoush gets a start, you can start him in over Savinho. Since Manchester City game is one of the initial games to start the Gameweek, there are chances we might get a Team leak on who starts.
- Gabriel rounds up the defense even with a slightly difficult fixture vs Chelsea. However, Chelsea are not in the best of forms and Arsenal’s defense have always been good throughout the season. It has also been a while since Gabriel scored one of his headers from set pieces so this might be the week.
- Sels(The highest scoring GK in the game) is the Keeper in this Draft to double up on Forest Defense vs Ipswich. Sa is another option if you want to Target the Southampton fixture over the Ipswich fixture.

FPL GW29 Free Hit Draft 2

- Onana is the goalkeeper in this Draft mainly because of the Leicester fixture. Leicester have scored only 2 goals in the last 7 matches and are clearly struggling for goals. This is comfortably the lowest in the league during this time.
Leicester City Attack Rank since GW21:
- Goals Scored- 20th
- Big Chances- 20th
- Expected Goals- 20th
- Morgan Gibbs White is the underrated Differential Pick in this Draft who has been having a sensational season, to say the least with 5 goals and 9 assists. Still at only 6.1% TSB, Gibbs White can be the Differential Pick to Double up along with Chris Wood targeting the Ipswich defense.
Top Midfielders for Goal Involvements since GW15(Included only players with a fixture in GW29):

- Gibbs White – 13
- Mbeumo – 11
- Kluivert -11
- Son – 10
- Elanga – 9
- Foden – 9

FPL GW29 Free Hit Draft 3

- This is a Draft if you want to chase the upside and go Differential- Double Wolves Defense and Double Brentford Attack.
- This is a Draft if you are still backing Palmer vs Arsenal(A) despite going 4 Gameweeks without a return and missing a penalty vs Leicester City in GW28.
- Haaland is the only Manchester City player in this draft as the numbers suggest that Brighton have improved considerably overall in the last weeks. You can even captain Bruno Fernandes vs LEI(A) or Chris Wood vs IPS(A) in this draft.
- Wan-Bissaka is a Differential in this draft up against Everton. West Ham have improved defensively ever since Potter took over. Cresswell(3.9) is an option from West Ham defense if you are short of funds.
- Considering this a slightly Differential draft to chase the points, we have gone for Double Brentford Attack of Mbeumo and Wissa.
Brentford Attack Numbers since GW20:

- xG/Game- 1.84 (3rd Highest in the League)
- Big Chances/Game- 3.11 (5th Highest in the League)
- Shots inside the Box/Game- 11.11 (3rd Highest in the league)
Top Players for xG since GW20(Includes only players with a fixture in GW29):
Wissa | 6.38 |
Haaland | 5.04 |
Mbeumo | 4.06 |
Joao Pedro | 4.03 |
Cole Palmer | 4.03 |
Chris Wood | 4.02 |
