Gameweek 9 had its fair share of drama and surprises. Bukayo Saka, who was “ruled out” for most of the week, not only started but found the back of the net, leaving frustrated managers who benched or sold him. Meanwhile, Spurs stumbled to a shock defeat against a struggling Crystal Palace side, clearly missing the influence of Son. Manchester United’s loss against West Ham has cost Erik ten Hag his job. However, the biggest curveball from an FPL perspective was that, for the third consecutive week, the top scorer wasn’t a premium asset—a reminder of how unpredictable this season has been and how the enablers are more than just enablers now.
With these unexpected results behind us, it’s time to assess the shifting form and fixtures as we gear up for FPL Gameweek 10.

FPL Gameweek 10 Transfer Tips: Two Players to BUY
Cole Palmer (£10.9m) – MID, Chelsea – 55.0% TSB
In GW9, the Chelsea talisman notched up his 3rd double-digit return of the campaign – only Salah has more this season. Among midfielders, Palmer is ranked:
- 1st for Goal Involvements
- 1st for BPS
- 2nd for Bonus Points
- 2nd for FPL points
- 2nd for xPts
- 2nd for Shots on Target
- 2nd for Big Chances
- 2nd for xG
- 2nd for Goals Scored
- 2nd for Assists
- 2nd for Big Chances Created
- 3rd for Shots
- 3rd for xGI
In GW10, Palmer plays Man Utd – a team that is in doldrums with just 11 points from 9 games. Last year, Palmer scored 28 points courtesy of his 4 goals in the two games against Man Utd.
Hence Palmer should be your priority signing No.1

Brentford Bullets
Bryan Mbeumo (£7.7m) – MID, Brentford – 36.8% TSB
Yoane Wissa (£5.9m) – FWD, Brentford – 3.7% TSB
Mbeumo is on fire at the moment. Among midfielders, he is ranked:
- 1st for Goals
- 2nd for Shots on Target
- 2nd for BPS
- 2nd for Bonus
- 3rd for FPL points
- 3rd for xPts
- 3rd for Big Chances
- 4th for Goal Involvements
- 4th for xGI
Wissa, his partner is crime, is no less.
Among FWDs, who have played at least 400 mins, Wissa’s per 90 stats are ranked:
- 1st for Goal Involvements
- 1st for Bonus
- 1st for xPts
- 1st for FPL points
- 2nd for xG
- 2nd for xGI
- 2nd for Goals
- 2nd for Assists
- 2nd for BPS
- 3rd for Big Chances
In GW9, the duo scored an amazing 25 points between them.
Brentford’s medium-term fixtures look amazing.
I suggest going for at least one, more the better.

FPL Gameweek 10 Transfer Tips: Two Players to HOLD
Ollie Watkins (£9.1m) – FWD, Aston Villa – 29.1% TSB
Watkins is the most transferred out FWD this week.
However, he faces Spurs in GW10. 58% (league high) of the chances Spurs conceded this season are from the centre where Watkins prowls. Since GW3, Spurs have kept only 1 Clean Sheet – against the struggling Man Utd.
Among FWDs, Watkins is ranked:
- 2nd for Shots on Target
- 2nd for Big Chances
- 3rd for Assists
- 3rd for Goal Involvements
- 3rd for Shots in the Box
- 4th for xG
- 4th for xGI
- 4th for xPts
- 4th for Big Chances Created
- 5th for FPL points
- 5th for Goals Scored
Hence, I suggest holding Watkins at least for GW10.

Dwight McNeil (£5.8m) – MID, Everton – 13.0% TSB
McNeil is in the Top 5 for most transferred-out midfielders this GW, having been transferred out by more than 50,000 managers so far. He blanked last GW and is carrying a yellow flag – neither of which is helping his cause.
However, Everton has amazing fixtures in the medium term.
Latest Injury News on Dwight McNeil
Sean Dyche on Dwight McNeil’s availability for Southampton: “Dwight has got a chance, we’re hopeful. He’s done some work with the physio today.”
Thirdly despite his blank, McNeil is still ranked 2nd in terms of value for this season.
Lastly, McNeil plays Southampton – one of the worst defences in the league
Therefore, I would recommend holding and definitely starting McNeil.

FPL GW10 Transfer Tips: Two Players to SELL
Pedro Porro (£5.5m) – DEF, Spurs – 28.8% TSB
Porro is the 3rd most owned defender in the league. However, he has 6 blanks in his last 7 league games – the only exception being a 5 pointer against the toothless Manchester United side.
As a result, he is not even one of the top 10 scoring defenders in the league.
He faces 2 of the Top 4 teams in the next 3 games.
Hence, I recommend selling Porro.

David Raya (£5.6m) – GKP, Arsenal – 30.5% TSB
Raya is the most transferred out goalkeeper this week and there’s reason behind the frustration.
Generally, a watertight defence, Arsenal has kept just 1 clean sheet in the last 7 league games conceding against teams like Bournemouth, Southampton, and Leicester.
To put it in context, 5 GKPs have outscored Raya in this span – all of them cheaper and lesser owned than him of course.
Arsenal’s immediate fixtures don’t instill much confidence either, especially with a bunch of their defenders doubtful.
So, I recommend selling Raya.
