As we head into GW6, the gap between pretenders and contenders is starting to widen. Two of those contenders recently faced off in a high-stakes showdown. Despite Manchester City registering an impressive 33 shots (second only to Spurs’ 23), Arsenal managed just 5 shots—the fewest of any team, apart from Nottingham Forest. Yet, the match ended in a 2-2 draw. Beyond the result, there were significant ramifications: Man City lost Rodri, likely for the rest of the season, while Arsenal saw Trossard join long-term absentee Ødegaard on the sidelines. The ripple effect of these key injuries on the rest of the squad will be something to watch closely.
Looking ahead to GW6, we also see the first notable fixture swing, with teams like Arsenal, Everton, Brentford, and Leicester entering more favorable matchups. Expect many FPL managers to activate their Wildcards to take advantage of these changes.
So, let’s start with our BUY-HOLD-SELL article for this GW, sponsored by …. Well, nobody. We are poor, but you can help here if you want 😊

FPL GW6 Transfer Tips: Two Players to BUY
Arsenal Avengers
Bukayo Saka (£10.0m) – MID, Arsenal – 32.3% TSB
Gabriel Magalhães (£6.1m) – DEF, Arsenal – 21.2% TSB
Arsenal is set to embark on an enticing run of three fixtures against teams currently sitting in the bottom half of the table, offering a prime opportunity for them to capitalize.
These 3 teams are not great defensively:
Rank | Leicester | Southampton | Bournemouth |
Shots Conceded | 16th | 15th | 14th |
Shots in Box Conceded | 19th | 13th | 15th |
Shots on Target Conceded | 14th | 18th | 20th |
Big Chances Conceded | 15th | 19th | 13th |
NPxGC | 12th | 17th | 13th |
XGC | 14th | 17th | 12th |
xCS | 14th | 13th | 11th |
Goals Conceded | 14th | 18th | 15th |
Clean Sheets | 0 | 0 | 0 |
This makes the likes of Saka and even Gabriel after his latest goal scoring exploits, extremely appealing.
Coming to defence, what makes Gabriel stand out is the fact both Leicester and Southampton are in the bottom half of the table in terms of almost all the attacking metrics
Rank | Leicester | Southampton | Bournemouth |
Shots | 19th | 13th | 3rd |
Shots On Target | 19th | 17th | 5th |
Shots in Box | 19th | 15th | 6th |
Big Chances | 18th | 13th | 10th |
NPxG | 19th | 11th | 7th |
xG | 19th | 10th | 5th |
Goals Scored | 12th | 20th | 14th |
That brings us to Bournemouth. While The Cherries’ attacking stats may look promising, it’s worth noting that they’ve faced two of the league’s worst defenses—Wolves and Everton—who have collectively conceded a staggering 28 goals in just 10 matches. If you discount those two fixtures, Bournemouth have yet to score a single goal in the league this season.
As a result, it’s a wise decision to prioritize the two Arsenal players mentioned earlier. This doesn’t mean other Arsenal assets like Saliba, Havertz, or White are poor choices. However, since you’re limited to selecting only three players from a team, we recommend going with Saka and Gabriel for sure, and Raya if fit.

Mohamed Salah (£12.8m) – MID, Liverpool – 44.3% TSB
Almost 400,000 managers have transferred out Salah ahead of his match against a team which have conceded the highest goals and placed at the bottom of the table.
It’s not like Salah is not performing. Among midfielders, Salah is ranked
- 1st for Shots on Target
- 1st for Shots in Box
- 1st for Goal Involvements
- 1st for Bonus
- 2nd for BPS

Wolves are currently dealing with a string of injuries, and after the loss of Mosquera, reports suggest a virus has hit the camp, potentially sidelining several players for FPL Gameweek 6. This could even lead to a debut for U21 defender Alfie Pond.
As for Salah, it might be worth giving him one final chance—one last dance—before considering selling him off next week.

Pedro Porro (£5.6m) – DEF, Tottenham – 31.3% TSB
Porro boasts an impressive xGI of 1.1, second only to TAA among defenders. Yet, surprisingly, he’s the most transferred-out defender this week. In GW6, Spurs face Man Utd, but it’s worth noting that in their two meetings last season, Spurs scored 4 goals and kept 1 clean sheet. So, calling this a difficult fixture would be an overstatement.
Looking beyond GW6, Spurs have a dream run of fixtures, facing just 4 top teams over the next 13 matches.
Think twice before selling Porro this week—it’s a risk you might regret.

João Pedro (£5.6m) – FWD, Brighton – 22.7% TSB
João Pedro is the most transferred out player this week and understandably so.
Pedro is currently an injury concern for this gameweek, with manager Hurzeler stating that he’s “not sure how long he’ll be out.” Given the uncertainty surrounding his fitness, it’s advisable to transfer him out of your squad. Holding onto a player with an unclear timeline for recovery could jeopardize your points potential, especially with other in-form options available like Wood, and DCL.

Alexander Isak (£8.3m) – FWD, Newcastle – 23.9% TSB
Alexander Isak is the second most transferred out player this week after Pedro.
Isak is still dealing with a toe injury and remains a major doubt for the upcoming clash against Manchester City. He hasn’t trained all week, and reports suggest that his toe is broken and stiffened up following the match against Fulham.
With Newcastle facing a challenging run of fixtures and Isak’s fitness in question, holding onto him, especially at his premium price, seems risky. Transferring him out could free up funds for a more reliable, in-form forward option ahead of the tougher games.
