Welcome to our FPL GW38 Scout Picks blog. Our fantastic scout @FPLDaggaFC (Do follow him on Twitter) is back with his Scout picks for Gameweek 38, as always our Scout picks are backed up by eye test, stats, and analysis.

Last season our scout picks won 21.5 vs 15.5 against the Official FPL Scout picks. This season the score is 19.5-17.5 heading into GW38 with AllAboutFPL scout having the lead!

FPL GW38 Scout Picks

FPL GW38 Scout Picks – Goalkeeper

Raya takes up the gloves in the our GW38 Scout team. White also makes the team in defense thereby enabling a double up on Arsenal defense against Everton at home. Arsenal have everything to play for and would like to do what is in their control in an attempt to win the league.

It is the matchup of the Best Defensive side in the league up against one of the poor attacking sides in the league. So a double up on defense is certainly worth it.

• Wolves- 23

FPL GW38 Scout Picks – Defenders

Gvardiol is Top Defender pick for yet another week who is coming on the back off a massive 27 pointer in DGW37 vs Fulham and Spurs- One of the best FPL Hauls of all time.

Gvardiol has been the cult FPL hero with 4 goals, 2 assists and 4 clean sheets from the last 6 matches. He has scored 66 points during this time averaging 11 points/game. No player has even come close to match his points tally. Gvardiol has been playing almost like a LW getting in very good attacking positions.

FPL GW38 Scout Picks – Midfielders

Palmer is the Top Midfield pick for another week considering he is the Best FPL asset right now. He has had a phenomenal 34 Goal Involvements, 234 FPL Points from 29 games since GW7 averaging 8.06 points/game. His home record is even better where he averages 10.38 FPL Points/game.

Palmer Attack Rank in the league since his full debut in GW7:

• xGI- 1st
• Goal Involvements- 1st
• Bonus Points- 1st
• FPL Points- 1st

Phil Foden is the next pick up against a West Ham side who have won only twice in the last 10 league matches. West Ham are ranked 19th for xGC since GW20 and Manchester City will be playing for title. So expect City to rack up the goals again. Foden’s home record has been particularly impressive as he has registered 2 Double Digit Hauls in his last 4 Home matches.

Foden in his last 4 Home Matches:

• 4 Big Chances Involvements
• 7 Chances created
• 3.1 xGI
• 5 goals
• 1 assist
• 43 FPL Points

Kai Havertz is still surprisingly a Differential Pick with at under 10% ownership considering the numbers he has put up. Only Palmer has more Goal Involvements and more FPL Points than Havertz in the entire league since GW25. During this time Havertz has 8 goals, 8 assists and 111 FPL Points from just 13 games averaging more than 8.5 points/game.

Salah is up against a Wolves side who have nothing to play for. The atmosphere at Anfield would be electric in a bid to have a good farewell for their manager. Wolves have conceded 72 shots in the last six games, 3rd most in the league during the period. Wolves have kept only clean sheet since GW22(against SHU) and have only one win in the last 9 matches. Salah can also be a good Differential captain choice if you are chasing many points in your mini league.

Olise rounds up the Midfield as he has been one of the most in form players in the league with 4 goals, 2 assists from his last 5 games. In fact, No Midfielder has scored more FPL Points than Olise(43) since GW34. More on Olise in our GW38 Differentials article.

FPL GW38 Scout Picks – Forwards

Haaland is back to form with 2 goals(13 points) vs Spurs in the second game of GW37. Before that he got 4 goals in the 21 point haul vs Wolves in GW36. He also takes the arm band in the Scout team. City are going for the title, need a win and will be up against a West Ham side who have been poor defensively in recent weeks. Everything points to another Haaland Haul!

West Ham Defensive Rank in the second half of the season:

• xGC- 19th
• Big Chances Conceded- 19th
• Goals conceded- 18th
• Clean Sheets- 19th

Jackson completes the Scout team as he has been in good form since GW33 with 5 goals, 3 assists and 47 points from the last 7 games. Chelsea on the whole have been a good attacking team in recent weeks- Chelsea are 3rd with an xG of 12.77 in the last six games only behind Man City and Newcastle United. Chelsea have also had a whopping 22 big chances in the last six games which is the 3rd highest as well. With the 5th position still possible, expect another formidable attacking display from Chelsea.
