Welcome to our FPL GW28 Scout Picks blog. Our fantastic scout @FPLDaggaFC (Do follow him on Twitter) is back with his Scout picks for Gameweek 28, as always our Scout picks are backed up by eye test, stats, and analysis.

Last season our scout picks won 21.5 vs 15.5 against the Official FPL Scout picks. This season the score is 12.5-14.5 heading into GW28 with Official FPL Scout picks leading us by two points.

FPL GW28 Scout Picks

FPL GW28 Scout Picks – Goalkeeper

Neto takes the gloves in our DGW28 Scout Selection with 2 home games vs SHU and LUT. Neto has 6 clean sheets and 12 Bonus points this season. He is a bonus point magnet- Top for Bonus Points/Appearance among GKs this season as seen below.

Neto has 90 saves from 24 games this season averaging 3.75 saves/game. This does suggest that he is likely to get a save point(3 saves= 1 point) every game. Over the last 5 matches, Neto has made 23 saves which is the Joint 3rd Highest among GKs during this time.

FPL GW28 Scout Picks – Defenders

Zabarnyi doubles up on Bournemouth defense in the Scout team along with Neto. Despite very less to no attacking threat, Zabarnyi makes the cut as he is nailed and expected to play 90 minutes in both DGW28 games. Bournemouth have a 48% chances of a clean sheet vs Sheffield United in GW28- 2nd Highest among all teams and 36% chances of a clean sheet vs Luton(4th Highest).

With both these are Home games for Bournemouth, it improves their chances of clean sheet with Sheffield and Luton underlying attack numbers poor away from home.

Doughty is the next pick with a Double GW vs Crystal Palace and Bournemouth. Luton Town have just kept 2 clean sheets all season but with Doughty- It is all about attacking returns. Doughty has 1 goal, 8 assists from 22 starts this season which are really good numbers for a defender.

Doughty is Top for Chances created(17) among DEFs since GW22 as seen below. In fact, Doughty is a crossing machine as he is Top in entire league for Successful crosses(21) and 2nd Highest for Total corners taken(34) since GW22.

Gabriel rounds up the defense with a fixture vs Brentford at home. With 3 attacking returns(2 goals, and 1 assist) from the last 7 games, Gabriel always carries an aerial threat on set pieces. Arsenal also kept 4 clean sheets from the last 7 games.

Arsenal are easily the best defensive side in the league at the moment- Most Clean Sheets(11), Least Goals conceded(23), Least xGC(18.84) and Least Big Chances conceded(27). For context, Man City are second least for Big Chances conceded in the league with 41 Big Chances conceded.

FPL GW28 Scout Picks – Midfielders

Saka is the Top Midfield pick for Gameweek 28. He has been in scintillating form to say the least with 7 goals, 2 assists, 66 points from the last 6 games averaging close to 11 points/game. His underlying numbers are also excellent. He is simply unstoppable at the moment and is a must own pick in FPL at this stage.

Saka Stats over the last 6 Matches:

• Matches- 6
• Shots inside the box- 19(4th)
• Big Chances- 6(Joint 3rd among mids)
• xGI- 6.4(1st)
• Goal Involvements- 9(2nd)
• FPL Points- 66(1st)

Kai Havertz has been in sensational form registering three consecutive double digit hauls. Brentford are struggling defensively with all of their regular back four out injured making a double up on Arsenal attack worth it this week. The bees have conceded a whopping 25 big chances in the last seven games(Since GW22), which is more than 3 big chances per game!

In the last three games, Havertz has got four big chances which is the highest amongst all Arsenal assets.

Bowen is up against a defensively poor Burnley side this week and is a no brainer option in our scout picks this week. Burnley have conceded 18 goals in the last six games, only Sheffield United have conceded more goals during the period. Now with Bowen, Paqueta and Kudus all fit and firing the Irons could be in a for a big win this weekend.

Barkley is the final midfielder in this week’s scout picks, he has created 23 chances in the last seven games the same as Bruno and KDB. Only Odegaard(26) has registered more chances during the period. Goals have not been the problem for Luton with the Hatters registering a healthy xG of 13.18 in the last seven games which is the 5th highest in the League during the period. Luton has never failed to score since GW13!

FPL GW28 Scout Picks – Forwards

Solanke is the captain of our scout team this week up against two leaky defences at home. Sheffield United and Luton Town have not kept an away clean sheet all season and have conceded 30 and 29 goals respectively which is the most and 2nd most in the League so far this season in away games. Solanke also has the highest predicted points for GW28(10.2).

• Solanke is Top for xG(10.72) and Shots inside the Box(46) in the league since GW12. He is also ranked 2nd for Big Chances (16) and Goals scored(10) during this time.
• Only Haaland(18), Watkins(16), and Salah(15) have scored more goals than Solanke in the Premier League this season.

Carlton Morris the other popular double gameweek forward also finds a place in our scout team this week. The Luton town forward is in good form with five goals and two assists in the last seven games and he is also their designated penalty taker.

Haaland completes the scout picks this week, he’s still a great option vs Liverpool and will be highly motivated to be amongst the goals in the all important game. In the last seven games the Man City forward has had 12 big chances(most in the League) and his xG of 6.2 during the period is also the highest amongst all players.
