FPL GW17 Scout Picks
FPL GW17 Scout Picks – Goalkeeper
Palace have only one win in last 9 matches and are not in good form due to many injuries to their team. During this period Palace have scored only 8 goals which is the 2nd lowest among all teams only behind Sheffield United(7). Rightly so, Manchester City have 56% chances of a clean sheet against Palace in GW16– Highest among all the teams. Therefore, Ederson takes the gloves for us in our FPL GW17 Scout Picks.

FPL GW17 Scout Picks – Defenders
Pedro Porro is in excellent form and is a no-brainer in Scout Picks these days with the form he is in- 4 assists in last 5 games. Since GW11, Porro is Top among Defenders for xGI(2.9), Shots(13), Shots inside the Box(9).
Along with the attacking potential, there is good clean sheet potential as well this week. Since GW5, Forest have won only once in 12 matches scoring 11 goals in the process which is the 3rd lowest among all the teams.
Bournemouth and Senesi are in brilliant form over the last few weeks. Bournemouth have dropped points only once in the last 5 Gameweeks keeping 3 clean sheets. Senesi recorded a 15 point haul against Manchester United after a 14 point haul against Palace scoring in both the games. Senesi has also good matchups in the upcoming weeks as highlighted in our FPL GW17 Differentials article.
Thiago Silva rounds up the Defenders in our Scout Selection. Yeah, Chelsea have not been in great form in recent weeks. But these good fixtures(as seen below) should bring them back to form. Over the last 7 games, Sheffield United have scored only 5 goals from an xG of 5.15- Ranked 20th in the league for both the stats.

FPL GW17 Scout Picks – Midfielders
Salah is the Top midfield pick for yet another week up against Manchester United. Salah has blanked only thrice in 16 games this season. Salah has scored 11 goals, 7 assists and leads the overall FPL Points tally with 127 points. Salah tops the xG and Big Chances stats among midfielders and his assist potential is also highlighted as he is Top for Big chances created(13) in the entire league.
Matchup alert:
- Salah has 8 goals, 4 assists(12 contributions) over the last 4 games vs Manchester United averaging an insane 18 points/game.
- Manchester United have conceded 28 chances down their right flank over the last 6 matches which is the highest among all the teams in the league during this period. Salah would relish this matchup.
Next up is the Spurs duo of Son and Richarlison up against a Forest side who have conceded 13 goals from the last 5 games- 2nd highest among all the teams. During the same time, Spurs have scored 10 goals(4th highest among all teams). Son registered a massive 17 point haul vs Newcastle bagging in 2 assists and a goal. Son has 10 big chances this season converting 8 off those with a 80% Big Chances conversion rate– Highest in Premier League this season. Son also scored the penalty in GW16 which confirms that he is on penalties for Spurs right now.
Richarlison made his first start back from injury in GW16 with a 15 point haul vs Newcastle scoring 2 goals. He looked really good and also had good underlying numbers.
Richarlison underlying numbers in GW16 (Rank among all players in GW16):
- Shots in the box – 5(joint 1st)
- Big chances– 2(joint 1st)
- xG– 0.71(8th)
- Bonus Points system score– 46(2nd)

Saka wraps up the midfield in the GW17 Scout Picks. Saka has blanked only thrice out of 15 games(5 goals, 8 assists) he has played this season. Saka is 3rd for Expected assists this season- Only behind Trippier and Bruno Fernandes. He is up against Brighton at home in GW17. FPL GW17 Scout Picks – Forwards
In-form Solanke up against Luton Town at Home is the Top Forward option this week.
Solanke Stats(Rank among attackers since GW12):
- Shots- 19(1st)
- Shots inside the Box- 18(1st)
- Big Chances- 8(2nd)
- xG- 4.1(2nd)
- Goals- 4(Joint 1st)
Bournemouth’s Excellent Team form: Unbeaten in last 5 games(4 wins, 1 draw) despite playing Newcastle, Villa and Man United in this run. Attack numbers since GW12:
- Best xG(10.51)
- 2nd Highest for Goals scored(12)
- 2nd Highest for Big Chances(16)
- 2nd Highest for Shots inside the box(62)
Next 3 fixtures also look really good for Bournemouth and Solanke including a good fixture in BGW18
- GW17 vs LUT(H)
- GW18 vs NFO(A)
- GW19 vs FUL(H)
Matchup alert: Luton Town have conceded 32 chances down the center over the last 6 matches- 2nd Highest among all the teams. Solanke would relish this matchup and would love to continue his goal scoring form.
Julian Alvarez should play as a striker for Manchester City in GW17 with Haaland likely to be ruled out due to an injury. Alvarez has been playing the No.10 role this season and has served up as a creator so far with 38 chances created- 4th highest in the league. However if Haaland doesn’t play he will play as a striker which should improve his goal scoring potential. There could be a big score for Manchester City against a Palace who have too many injuries and are not able to cope up with it.
Gabriel Jesus rounds up the Scout Picks with a favorable fixture vs Brighton who are yet to keep a clean sheet this season. Jesus averages 0.6 xGI/90 minutes and got a 11 point haul(Goal, assist) vs Luton Town in GW15 before blanking in GW16. Against a leaky Brighton defense, he could return once again this week.
