FPL GW7 Scout Picks- Goalkeeper
Areola is 2nd amongst all keepers for saves(30) and 2nd for xG prevented(+3.30), he’s up against a Sheffield United side who have scored only 6 goals in 5 games and their xG of 4.47 is the 2nd lowest in the league, Only Burnley(4.06) have a lower xG but they have played a game less than Sheffield United. West Ham also have a 42% chance of a clean sheet in GW7 which is 4th highest amongst all teams.

FPL GW7 Scout Picks- Defenders
Walker is the 4th highest-scoring defender in the League with 29 points, he has played 539/540 possible minutes(The highest amongst Man City outfield players) which tells us that he’s a safe defender to consider. Man City have conceded only 7 big chances in 6 games(2nd lowest in the League), their xGC of 4.70 is the lowest in the League.
Man City also have a whopping 51% chance of a clean sheet vs Wolves. Walker was also fully rested in the midweek Carabao cup game. Walker has taken up more attacking this season than before which was confirmed by himself in this quote.
“It’s a different role I’m playing this season, a little higher up the field where I can get some assists and goals. It’s the attacking power we’ve got where I’m wide, come in, make deep runs. Hopefully I keep producing this level of performance…”
It’s without a surprise that you’ll notice a double-up on Botman and Trippier. Trippier picked up three assists and registered 18 points in GW6, Botman meanwhile scored his first PL goal and picked up 12 points. The Magpies have great defensive numbers which can be seen below and are up against Burnley who have the lowest xG in the league so far this season(4.47 in 5 games)
Newcastle defence numbers Big Chances conceded: 5(Lowest in the League) xGC(Expected goals conceded): 6.39(4th lowest in the League) Goals conceded: 7(Joint 5th lowest)

FPL GW7 Scout Picks- Midfielders
Son is in prolific form scoring five goals in three games, he’s playing through the middle and is in excellent form. Salah has also been consistently returning and has not blanked this season, infact he hasn’t blanked since DGW34 of last season. Salah has 43 points from 6 games and is Top 2 among midfielders for all the underlying numbers- 1st for xGI(8.0), 2nd for Big Chances(5), 2nd for Shots inside the box(14).
Both Spurs and Liverpool are scoring goals for fun. Both teams have scored 15 goals(Joint 4th most in the League). The Spurs vs Liverpool could potentially see a lot of goals!
Over the last three games since Son started to play in the middle, his xGI of 2.22 is the 2nd highest in the league amongst midfielders. The first amongst xGI for midfielders during the period is without a doubt, King Mo Salah(3.88)!
Bowen is the joint 4th highest-scoring midfielder in the game with 4 goals, 1 assist and 39 points from 6 games. Up against a Sheffield side who conceded 8 goals in GW6, he should fancy his chances. At just 10% ownership, he is a great differential for GW7 and beyond. Also discussed in detail in our FPL GW7 Differentials Picks article where he features.
Another thing in Bowen’s favour for FPL GW7 is the fact that no team has conceded more chances from the right flank (40) than Sheffield United. As we can see, that is exactly where the West Ham man operates!
The midfield is wrapped up by Mbeumo who blanked last week but has been really good this season getting 4 goals from 6 games so far. Even though 2 off these goals came in penalties, his underlying numbers are still good- 7 big chances(1st among mids), nPxG of 2.32(6th among midfielders).

FPL GW7 Scout Picks – Forwards
Carlton Morris makes the Scout Picks team solely based on the Double Gameweek. His underlying numbers are not great(0.7 nPxG from 5 games) and he plays for Luton. But he is the Talisman for Luton, takes penalties and is usually involved when Luton manage to score. Both the games are likely to see goals as all three teams- Everton, Burnley and Luton will looks for 3 points in these relegation battle games.
Morris is a good one week punt if you are planning to Wildcard in GW8 to target the fixture swing from GW8.
Haaland is the no-brainer captaincy choice for yet another Scout Selection. He is Top among all players for all the Underlying numbers- Big Chances(15), xG(7.77), and Shots inside the box(31) as well. Without a surprise, Haaland is also Top for Goals(8) and FPL Points(51) this season as well. It could have been much more as he missed 6/8 Big Chances from the last 2 games. Perhaps he would be looking to make amends for that in GW6 vs Wolves.
He was also rested fully for the midweek Carabao Cup game and that puts off even the slight concern that he could be rested in GW7.
Callum Wilson is a great differential pick that is too exciting to ignore. Despite starting 4/6 games from the bench, Wilson has the 2nd best xG(4.13) and 2nd for Shots on Target(11) in the entire league- Only behind Haaland. With another rest in midweek cup game, he is very likely to start again in GW7. Burnley have conceded 13 goals from 5 games- which is the 2nd highest in the league despite playing a game less than other teams.
