Pros and Cons of FPL GW3 Wildcard

Pros:

  • Not too late to bring in template players you have missed and firing now(Eg. Chilwell, Mbeumo, Mitoma, Estupinan). You can essentially fix you team.
  • Attack and Target the good fixtures for Chelsea, Manchester City, Brentford. Triple up of Chelsea and Man City may not be a bad idea.
  • Newcastle have a great run of fixtures from GW5. So you might bring in Trippier/Botman/Isak before everyone jumps on to the board.

Cons

  • GW8/GW9 Wildcard might be popular due to the fixture swings for Liverpool, Manchester United, Spurs, Palace, Villa. You must prepare for that with free transfers.
  • Might be difficult to get Salah little later for their good fixture swing from GW9 due to team structure and funds spread out.
  • GW3 might be tricky. There are good quality players with good fixtures but haven’t performed so far like Bruno, Rashford vs Forest(H) and Martinelli vs Fulham(H).

FPL GW3 Wildcard Drafts

FPL GW3 Wildcard Draft 1

  • Gusto, Maddison, Botman will be the subs for GW3. Maddison is currently injured and is likely to miss GW3 but should be back for GW4- GW5 good fixtures: Burnley(A), Sheffield United(H).
  • Chelsea Triple up of Chilwell, Jackson and Gusto. Chilwell is a no brainer, get him in ASAP if you already don’t for these juicy fixtures. Jackson has good underlying numbers(1.2 xGI, 3 big Chances, 6 Shots for just 2 FPL points from 2 games) can come good. Gusto is a good enabler due to James injury.
  • City have excellent fixtures from GW3. There are still players like Foden, Dias who are Differentials. Check more about Foden and Dias in our FPL GW3 Differentials article.

FPL GW3 Wildcard Draft 2

  • Draft with more money in the bank to possibly target the Trippier move in GW5. Newcastle have a great run of fixtures from GW5.
  • Rashford has a good fixture vs Forest(H) in GW3. Might be the last chance for him to prove before moving to players like Maddison, Diaby, etc.
  • Sarr looked good in GW2 vs United and is a good bench option at just 4.5 million.

FPL GW3 Wildcard Draft 3

  • Team with more strong bench and 15 starters. Can flip around and start players purely based on fixtures.
  • Saka can be Odegaard if you think Odegaard keeps the penalties.
  • Wissa has been really good so far who already has 2 goals, 1 assist and 20 points from 2 games. His underlying numbers are also really good with nPxGI of 1.7 , 10 Shots from 2 games. He is a good differential, still at <15% ownership.
