FPL GW30 Scout Picks
FPL GW30 Scout Picks- Goalkeeper
Ederson makes a return in our scout picks this week with Man City having a relatively easy fixture against Southampton who are struggling to score goals. Since the restart in 14 games, Southampton have only scored 10 goals(3rd lowest in the league) during the period. Ederson and Man City also have a healthy 56% odds of a clean sheet this week vs Southampton which is the highest CS odds amongst all teams(Via Drafthound)
Man City have also been unlucky in terms of goals conceded over the last few games, since the restart in 14 games the Blues have conceded only an xGC of 9.5(Lowest in the league) but have conceded 12 goals(2nd lowest during the period) and have kept just 4 clean sheets. This should however improve in the coming weeks with the defence becoming much more stable and settled. He’s also a good long-term option especially if you’re free hitting in GW32 as Man City will double twice in GW34 and GW37.

FPL GW30 Scout Picks- Defenders
Trippier is already on 168 points for the season and is all set to beat Robertson’s 213 points record to become the Highest Scoring defender ever in FPL History. Since GW17, Newcastle are the second-best defensive team in the league with the Least Goals Conceded and ranked 2nd-best for xGC. Tripper has continued his form and is ranked Top among Defenders for Key Passes, Big Chances Created, and xA. Over the last 6 games, Brentford are ranked 3rd worst in the league for crosses conceded down the left flank which could work out well in Trippier’s favour.
Alex Moreno is the next pick. Since GW25 Unai Emery’s men have given away only 2 goals, keeping 4 clean sheets in the process which is the joint-highest in the league during the period.
Alex Moreno has already registered 2 assists, in 7 starts. In fact, he has blanked only once, when he has started. Since his debut in GW20, no defender has registered more touches in the box (33) than Alex Moreno. Moreno is discussed in detail in our FPL GW30 Differentials article.
Chilwell is the final pick among defenders facing a Wolves side who are ranked 15th for Big Chances and 14th for xG in the league over the last 6 games. Even with these numbers, it is hard to expect a clean sheet for a Frank Lampard team. But Chilwell carries the attacking threat always and is ranked Top for Expected Goal Involvement among Defenders since GW25. He was unlucky not to get an attacking return in GW29 and was taking up exciting attacking positions playing as an LWB.

FPL GW30 Scout Picks- Midfielders
Rashford is a no-brainer these days in Scout Picks with the form he is in. The home game against Everton is just the icing on the cake. Over the last 6 games, Everton are ranked 3rd worst for xGC and 4th for Goals Conceded with 11 goals conceded. He is also a good Captaincy shout for GW30 considering the fixture matchup and the form Rashford is in.
Rashford Home record since the World Cup:
- Matches– 8
- Goals– 8(1st)
- Goal Involvements– 10(1st)
- FPL Points– 80(1st)
Saka and Mitoma are quality, talented in-form players who pick themselves. They are ranked 2nd and 3rd for FPL Points among midfielders since the World Cup break only behind Rashford. Both of them can be explosive on their day and can easily return with a double-digit haul.
Midfielders sorted by FPL Points since GW17:
They are up against Liverpool and Spurs which looks like tougher games on paper. But it is not true- Both teams in poor form. Liverpool have conceded the most Big Chances in the league since restart and Spurs don’t look defensively strong too. Even though Liverpool got a clean sheet against Chelsea in GW29, On eye test their defense was bad and always looked like conceding.
Grealish is in some form since the World Cup break- 3 goals, and 6 assists from 12 starts in the league since the World Cup. He also has a favorable matchup in GW30 vs Southampton which is discussed in detail in our FPL GW30 Buy, Hold, Sell Analysis article where Grealish features on Top of “Players to Buy”

FPL GW30 Scout Picks- Forwards
Haaland is fully fit and “he will be ready” as quoted by Pep in the pre-match press conference. Having missed GW29 and he will be looking to get some minutes and match fitness ahead of the crucial UCL game vs Bayern. Even with 60 minutes of playing time, we know explosive Haaland can be. He is up against a Southampton side who are 20th in the table and are likely to get relegated which makes us go with Haaland for the arm-band.
If a player who has scored 28 Premier League goals from 26 games is up against the team currently at the bottom of the league, it does make sense to go with Haaland as the safest best for Captaincy in GW30.
Our next pick is Kane vs Brighton. As much as Brighton are good in attack and performing well as a team, don’t expect them to keep many clean sheets due to their attacking style of play. Brighton did get a clean sheet in GW29 vs Bournemouth, but they should consider themselves lucky with 1.74 xG conceded. Harry Kane is consistent as ever blanking in only 2 out of the last 10 matches. Since restart, Kane has 10 goals, and 3 assists from 14 games fetching 87 points averaging 6.21 points/game– Almost returning every game. Also, Kane does not require many chances to convert one due to his clinical finishing.
Watkins is arguably the most in-form player in the league at the moment. He has been consistently scoring week in and week out getting 8 goals, and 2 assists from the last 10 games getting 72 points since GW21. During this time, he is Top for Big Chances(12), Goals(8), FPL Points(72), xG(6.81). He can very well be a Differential Captaincy choice for GW30.
To add to this, Watkins is up against Forest in GW30 who are arguably the worst side on the road in Premier League this season as seen by below numbers-
Forest Away Record:
- Most Goals Conceded(15) since World Cup break from just 7 games with only one clean sheet.
- Only 2 away clean sheets all season.
- Only 1 away win in the entire season
