Although they have a blank in GW28, Brighton double in both GW27 and GW29. In particular, they have great options in midfield that have already proven to be great value for money. So, I will Brighton Midfielders in FPL- Analyse each asset and look at whether it is worth bringing in more than one of these players.
The assets I will be analysing are:
- Mitoma (£5.5m)
- March (£5.1m)
- Mac Allister (£5.4m)

Brighton Midfielders Comparison Ahead of FPL GW27
Mitoma vs March vs Mac Allister Stats
I have compiled a comparison table of their stats. As well as looking at overall numbers, it is important to look at data per 90 minutes to take into account their playing time:
- Mitoma – 11 starts, 1117 minutes
- March – 23 starts; 1962 minutes
- Mac Allister – 19 starts, 1725 minutes
Although March comes out on top for most overall stats, per 90 Mitoma is very strong and beats his teammates. He has overperformed his xG, but this shows how clinical and in-form he is right now.
March does have the best npxG, though this is very close for data per 90 minutes. In particular, he has great assist potential, creating 37 chances (1.70 per 90) and 12 big chances (0.55 per 90) so far this season. In comparison, Mitoma has created 16 chances (1.29 per 90) and 4 big chances (0.32 per 90), and Mac Allister has created 23 chances (1.20 per 90) and 2 big chances (0.10 per 90).
Mac Allister has the highest overall xG, with a lot of this coming from penalties. For the majority of the stats, he falls behind his teammates for data per 90 minutes. However, the fact that he is on penalties means that he should definitely still be considered.
Overall, March has had the most goal attempts (52) and big chances (10) among these Brighton midfielders. Mac Allister is behind him, with 45 goal attempts and 9 big chances. Mitoma understandably has the least goal attempts (20) and big chances (7). Per 90, March is still top for goal attempts (2.39), with Mac Allister having 2.35 and Mitoma having 1.61 goal attempts per 90. Mitoma is actually first for big chances per 90 (0.56), with Mac Allister second (0.47) and March third (0.46).
Therefore, March has been registering great numbers, though Mitoma beats him for expected data per 90.
Mitoma vs March vs Mac Allister In the last six gameweeks:
- March and Mac Allister come out on top for goal attempts (15)
- Mac Allister is top for big chances (5), with March having 3 and Mitoma having 1
- March is also top for chances created (11), with Mac Allister second (9) and Mitoma last (5)
- March has created the most big chances (6) of any midfielder, with Mac Allister and Mitoma both creating 1 big chance
- Despite this, Mitoma has accumulated the most points over this time period (38), with March getting 20 and Mac Allister getting 18
Key stat:
Since GW20, March has created the Most Big Chances(7) in Premier League despite playing just 6 games. It is to be noted that other players on the list below like Bruno Fernandes and TAA have played 2 games more than March.
Brighton Midfielders FPL points prediction:
From GW27 to 31, Scout predicts:
- Mitoma to score 24.2 points
- March to score 20.8 points
- Mac Allister to score 21.5 points

Brighton Stats and Fixtures
Despite only playing 23 games so far, Brighton are:
- 5th for goals scored (43)
- 6th for goal attempts (337)
- Joint-5th for shots on target (130)
- Joint-4th for big chances (68)
It’s definitely clear that, with such cheap attacking options, the Brighton midfielders offer huge value for money. Having one or two players at this price range from a strong attacking side is definitely going to be a popular option. As well as their great form, they have some huge doubles coming up over the next few weeks:
DGW27 | GW28 | DGW20 | GW30 | GW31 | BGW32 |
lee, CRY | [blank] | BRE, bou | tot | che | MCI* |
FPL managers will have to navigate a tricky blank gameweek for Brighton assets between two double gameweeks, but I think the rewards could be great.
Leeds and Crystal Palace are 13th and 12th for shots on target conceded, and 18th and 15th for big chances conceded. For GW29, Brentford have conceded the most shots on target this season (133), with Bournemouth just in front of them on 131. They are also 6th and 11th for big chances conceded. Therefore, despite this blank in between these games, picking more than one Brighton asset is proving to be a popular strategy.
After these great fixtures, they do have a difficult run of Tottenham, Chelsea, and Man City (which could be a blank). This is definitely something to keep in mind when planning ahead future transfers.

Zonal Matchups for March, Mitoma, Mac Allister in FPL DGW27/29
It is important to know where Brighton’s next 4 opponents(2 Doubles) concede most of their chances from.
Chances Conceded(Rank in PL) of Brighton’s next 4 opponents since World Cup
Chances conceded from Left(March side) | Chances Conceded from Center(Mac Allister side) | Chances conceded from Right(Mitoma side) | |
Leeds United- GW27 | 20th | 13th | 16th |
Crystal Palace- GW27 | 19th | 8th | 5th |
Brentford- GW29 | 18th | 19th | 13th |
Bournemouth- GW29 | 17th | 18th | 18th |
Key Takeaways:
- March comfortably wins the Zonal Matchups. Brighton’s next 4 opponents- Leeds, Palace, Brentford, and Bournemouth are literally ranked in the Bottom four for Chances conceded from their Left Flank since GW17. This is exactly where the in-form March operates.
- In the table above, Mac Allister is included for the Chances conceded down the center. But it is to be noted that he doesn’t operate as a striker and plays as a #10 behind the striker and deeper than the likes of March and Mitoma as seen in above heatmaps.
The Verdict- Brighton FPL Midfielders ahead of FPL GW27
Frustratingly, I do think each asset is a great pick and, given their numbers and Brighton’s upcoming fixtures, they all have the potential to score great points. Who you pick could be very dependent on personal preference and how you prefer to choose players.
Over the last few weeks, March has been the one to register the best attacking stats, though this hasn’t translated to as many points as Mitoma. Due to his great numbers, he was my number one choice on my GW26 Wildcard. It also helps that he is the cheapest option of the three.
Mitoma, despite his recent numbers being worse than March and Mac Allister, is in great form and has good numbers per 90. He has been very clinical and I see no reason why he can’t continue this form. The choice between March and Mitoma is therefore a familiar debate in the FPL community.
Although I haven’t chosen Mac Allister myself and would prefer March or Mitoma, the fact that he is on penalties cannot be ignored. This is always a great bonus to have in an FPL asset despite his stats being slightly poorer.
I have personally chosen both March and Mitoma for my Wildcard team, and I think doubling up on these assets for their upcoming doubles is a great strategy, particularly because it is very hard to pick between the three.
