GW22 was a high-scoring week thanks to a Rashford haul who was the most captained and triple-captained asset last(Also the topper of our metrics last week), this time around there is another double with Arsenal and Man City both doubling. In this Gameweek 22 Captaincy metrics blog, let’s take a look at the top captain picks for this week and see who tops the metrics and becomes the top captain choice according to our metrics.

Also, sincere apologies for the delay in publishing this week’s captaincy metrics. We’ll make sure to be on time next week!

Projections Rank of our FPL Gameweek 23 Captain Picks

Projections Rank of our FPL Gameweek 23 Captain Picks

In the Fourth Phase of the article, I have used the Anytime Returns and Projected Points Tools available at Fantasy Football Hub. With the help of the Anytime Returns Tool, I have derived the Safety Rank, which helps in determining the Safest Captaincy Option of the week, while I have used the Projected Points Tool to determine the Explosion Rank, which helps in determining the Most Explosive Option of the week.

I have then averaged the Two Ranks to churn out the Average Rank Factor, which I have used to determine the Safest yet Explosive option.

Erling Haaland has the highest Anytime Returns Projections at 85%, while his Projected Points stand at 13.1 for the week.

Martin Odegaard has an Anytime Returns Projection at 72%, and the highest Projected Points at 10.2 this week, just behind the Manchester City talisman.

Bukayo Saka has an Anytime Returns Projections at 71% and Projected Points at 10.1, which puts him in third place.

Eddie Nketiah has an Anytime Returns Projections of 71% while the Projected Points stand at 10.0, and is fourth, while the last spot goes with Marcus Rashford, who has an Anytime Returns Projections at 61% and Projected Points at 6.6 .

Conclusion – Final Rank from our FPL Gameweek 23 Captaincy metric analysis

Conclusion - Final Rank from our FPL Gameweek 23 Captaincy metric analysis

In the Fifth and Final Phase of the article, I have aggregated the Ranks derived above to pull out the Cumulative Rank Factor (CRF). The Candidate having the lowest Cumulative Rank Factor is the most ideal Captaincy Option according to this metric.

Haaland and Nketiah tops the metrics with a Cumulative Rank Factor(CRF) of 8 making him the best captaincy choice in DGW23 according to our captaincy metrics.

We are tied for first, as Erling Haaland and Eddie Nketiah, come out on top with a CRF Value of 8.

Eddie’s teammates, Bukayo Saka, and Martin Odegaard, come third and fourth, with a CRF value of 10 each.

Lastly, Marcus Rashford rounds up our table with a CRF value of 18.

Author’s Note(@AK_FPL1): Even though Haaland and Nketiah are tied, we recommend Erling Haaland as the captain this gameweek, as we have seen with Haaland what he can do on any given day and also has penalties in his locker.
