2022 World Cup Fantasy MD1 Differentials (<10% TSB)

IVAN PERIŠIĆ – CROATIA, 7.5M, TSB: 6.5%

Ivan Perisic World Cup MD1 Differential pick

Perišić is one of those players who always comes in clutch in pressure situations and World Cup 2022 could be where he proves that again.

For Croatia, since 2021 Perišić has started in 24 games and has amassed 9xG + 5xA which suggests he is usually involved when Croatia score.

Domestically for Spurs Perišić has added another 7xA in 15 starts from LWB and LW positions.

During the World Cup Ivan should be playing as a leftsided winger and he will be on most of the set pieces which further increases his attacking potential.

Croatia start their WC campaign vs Morocco in MD1 and then play Canada in MD2 which on paper at least are matches they should win.

Ivan is currently only owned by 6.5% of managers and at 7.5M he could be a good World Cup Fantasy Differential for MD1.

THOMAS MEUNIER – BELGIUM, 6M, TSB: 6.4%

MD1 Thomas Meunier
Meunier can profit from good early MD1 fixture.

Another player who always does well in these international tournaments is Thomas Meunier.

For Belgium, Meunier has produced 4xA + 2xG in the last 15 games since 2021 and is the nailed on starting RB for the national side.

Belgium have some very winnable games to start at the 2022 World Cup facing Canada and then Morocco in MD1 & MD2 respectively.

Thomas Meunier is only in 6.4% WC Fantasy teams and even though he is a premium price at 6M, he could very well keep 2 clean sheets and bag 1-2 goal contributions.

LAUTARO MARTINEZ, ARGENTINA, 8M, TSB: 7.3%

MD1 Lautaro
Martinez vs Saudi Arabia in MD1 could be a great punt.

Lautaro Martinez is finally showing why Inter Milan put so much faith in him when they signed him 4 years ago.

With Lukaku in and out of the team, Lautaro has slowly become the talisman of Inter Milan in the last couple of years and that form can in seen in national set up for Argentina as well.

During World Cup qualifying Lautaro contributed 7xG + 3xA in 14 starts which propelled Argentina to the World Cup.

At just 8M price in the WC Fantasy game, he could be a hidden gem with low ownership of 7.3% at the moment.

Argentina start their campaign vs Saudi Arabia in MD1 and current form is anything to go by Lautaro Martinez can easily bag a few goals.

CHRISTIAN PULISIC – USA, 7.5M, TSB: 3.9%

WorldCup Fantasy Differentials MD1 Pulisic
Pulisic has 5xG in 7 starts for USA

Christian Pulisic has indeed gone off the boil after coming to Chelsea with the lack of appearances and injuries but that does not mean he’s a bad player.

Pulisic is US Men’s football’s poster boy and even though things have not worked out the way he wanted at Chelsea, he was still instrumental in USA reaching the World Cup.

In the last 7 qualifying games, Pulisic has 5xG, he is their penalty taker as well.

USA have a decent fixture vs Wales in MD1 and I see both teams scoring and Pulisic could be a good differential to own at 7.5M price and just 3.9% ownership.

ANDREAS SKOV OLSEN – DENMARK, 6M, TSB: 4%

WorldCup Fantasy Differentials MD1 Skov Olsen
Skov Olsen can be a bargain at 6M

Skov Olsen or “The Danish Sweetheart” as my good friend Dan from the wonderful Main Event podcast would call him is one of the bright young talents I am excited to see at the World Cup.

He has been in amazing form for both club and country this season notching up 6xG + 3xA in 15 starts for Club Brugge & 5xG + 3xA for Denmark in WC qualifiers respectively.

Olsen can definitely be your mid priced midfielder that gets you good returns.

Denmark play Tunisia in MD1 and Skov “sweetheart” Olsen who is only 4% owned and 6M in price could be among the points.

CODY GAKPO, HOLLAND, 7M, TSB: 4%

WorldCup Fantasy Differentials MD1 Gakpo
Cody Gakpo is set to set in MD1

Gakpo is another youngster who has been on fire this season so far.

In Eredivisie, Gakpo has amassed 12xG + 9xA in 14 starts for PSV Eindhoven at an expected xG+xA of 1.05 per 90 mins which is top notch.

For Holland, Gakpo has 3xG & 2xA in 6 starts this year which shows his streak of form.

Gakpo is set to start in MD1 vs Senegal and in my opinion is a great World Cup Fantasy Differential for MD1 at 7M price and only 4% ownership.
