World Cup Fantasy: Predicted Lineups

Group A World Cup Fantasy Predicted Lineups:

Qatar

  • Fixtures: Ecuador – 20th Nov Senegal – 25th Nov Holland – 29th Nov
  • FIFA Ranking: 50th

Predicted Lineup: 3-4-3

Al Sheeb(4.0)
Khoukhi(3.0) Salman(3.0) Fadllalla(x.x)
I.Mohamad(3.5) Hatem(4.0) Boudiaf (4.0) Al Haydos(4.5) Ahmed(3.5)
Afif(4.5) Ali(4.5)

Star Player:

Akram Afif is Qatar’s main man with 27 goals in under 100 games for his nation. The 25-year-old is on pens, can play either on the wing or up front, and has been vital for club Al-Sadd in recent years. He comes in as a huge bargain at £4.5m.

Budget Baller:

The entire team has been priced so cheaply that they all have a shout for budget baller but a certain defender looks to provide better value than the rest. Boualem Khoukhi is as nailed as you can get and looks to be an extremely attacking defender with an amazing 21 goals in 97 national games from Centreback.

The Netherlands:

  • Fixtures: Senegal – 21st Nov Ecuador – 25th Nov Holland – 29th Nov
  • FIFA Ranking: 8th

Predicted Lineup: 3-4-3

Pasveer(4.5)
Timber(5.5) Van Dijk(6.0) Ake(5.0)
Dumfries(6.0) Koopomeiners(5.5) De Jong(8.5) Blind (5.5)
Gakpo (7.0)
Janssen(6.5) Bergwijn(7.0)

Depay Injury update- He won’t start the first game as confirmed by Van Gaal.

Star Player:

Memphis Depay is The Netherlands all-time second top-scorer after Robin Van Persie. The Barcelona star is the focal point of the attack with penalties and just an 8.5 price tag will surely be hard to look past.

Budget Baller:

Cody Gakpo could prove to be an amazing value at 7m. The winger is on red-hot form for PSV this season with 21 g/a in just 13 league games this season. This looks like his time to shine in his first major tournament for the Oranje.

Senegal:

  • Fixtures: Holland – 21st Nov Qatar – 25th Nov Ecuador – 29th Nov
  • FIFA Ranking: 18th

Predicted Lineup: 4-3-3

E.Mendy(5.5)
Sabaly(4.0) Koulibaly(5.5) A.Diallo(4.0) Ciss(4.5)
I.Gueye(5.5) Kouyaté(6.5) N.Mendy(5.0)
I.Sarr(6.5) Día(5.0) Dieng(5.5)

Budget Baller:

Boulaye is a regular starter upfront and despite his poor goal record for the AFCON Champions Dia is an excellent goalscorer when it comes to his clubs. He is a great enabler at his cheap price but with the forward spots being so valuable many will leave out the Senegalese.

Ecuador:

  • Fixtures: Qatar – 20th Nov Holland – 25th Nov Senegal – 29th Nov
  • FIFA Ranking: 44th

Predicted Lineup: 4-3-3

Dominguez(4.5)
Preciado(4.5) Porozo(4.5) Hincapié(4.5) Estupiñan(4.5)
M.Caicedo(5.5) Franco(5.5) Gruezo(4.5)
Mena(5.0) Campana(5.5) Valencia(6.5)

Star Player:

The former West Ham and Everton striker Enner Valencia is tearing it up in Turkey this season with 12 goals in 11 starts. The veteran has always been the star man for Ecuador and is their all time leading top scorer.

Budget Baller:

Ángel Mena is another key veteran for Ecuador. The 34 year-old has scored double figures in all of his last 4 seasons in the Mexican top flight. Despite his lack of game time for Léon this season, Mena is still expected to start in what would be his last World Cup. If you’re looking for a budget midfield option Mena is up there with the most attacking and is on multiple set pieces.

Group B World Cup Fantasy Predicted Lineups:

USA:

  • Fixtures: Wales – 21st Nov England – 25th Nov Iran – 29th Nov
  • FIFA Ranking: 14th

Predicted Lineup: 4-3-3

Turner(4.5)
Dest(5.0) Zimmerman(4.0) A.Long(4.0) A.Robinson(4.0)
Musah(6.0) Adams(5.5) McKennie(£6.0)
Aaronson(6.0) Ferreira(5.5) Pulisic(7.5)

Star Player:

24-year-old Christian Pulisic has already represented his country on 52 occasions, scoring 21 goals in the process. Despite never really finding his feet at Chelsea the winger has always been on target for his country and will be the man looking to lead them out of Group B.

Budget Baller:

3 of the USA defence come in at 4.0 and I think Walker Zimmerman will provide the most value being guaranteed to start and a deadly threat from corners. They aren’t expected to keep too many clean sheets though, facing 2 good attacking teams in MD 1 and 2

England:

  • Fixtures: Iran – 21st Nov USA – 25th Nov Wales – 29th Nov
  • FIFA Ranking: 5th

Predicted Lineup: 4-2-3-1

Pickford(5.5)
Trippier(5.0) Stones(5.5) Maguire(5.5) Shaw(5.0)
Bellingham(7.5) Rice(6.5)
Saka(8.0) Foden(8.5) Sterling(8.5)
Kane(11.5)

Star Player:

Harry Kane will be looking to become the 3 lions all time leading goalscorer this winter with him being only 2 goals behind Wayne Rooney’s international tally of 53. Kane will not only be seeking to overtake the Man U legend he will also be fighting to be the first player to win the World Cup Golden Boot twice after he won it back in 2018. The Spurs Star has been incredibly consistent for his club this season, being the second top scorer in the Prem behind Haaland and will be hoping his form carries over to his third major tournament with England.

Budget Baller:

Keiran Trippier has been an absolute BEAST in FPL this year seeing himself become the highest points-scoring defender so far and has earned his place in the England lineup. He comes in at a bargain £5.0 in World Cup fantasy just like he did in FPL and looks to be a bargain and a half in an England defence that conceded just 2 goals at Euro 2020.

Wales:

  • Fixtures: USA – 21st Nov Iran – 25th Nov England – 29th Nov
  • FIFA Ranking: 19th

Predicted Lineup: 4-3-3

Hennessey(4.5)
Ampadu(4.0) Rodon(4.5) B.Davies(5.0)
C.Roberts(4.0) H.Wilson(6.0) Ramsey(7.5) N.Williams(4.5)
Bale(8.0) Moore(6.0) Johnson(6.0)

Star Player:

Gareth Bale has been Wales’ main man for years and looks to be again for this year’s World Cup. As an 8.0 forward the 5-time Champions League winner doesn’t seem to be a great option compared to others in that bracket but he has never failed to turn up when Wales have needed him most and they certainly need him this winter.

Budget Baller:

Connor Roberts has started 4 of his countries last 5 Nations League games and is 0.5 cheaper than his usual wingback partner Neco Williams. Wales are known for how attacking their wingbacks are and with two relatively easy first fixtures Roberts could be your bench enabler.

Iran:

  • Fixtures: England – 21st Nov Wales – 25th Nov USA – 29th Nov
  • FIFA Ranking: 22nd

Predicted Lineup: 4-4-2

Beiranvand(x.x)
Moharrami(4.0) Hosseini(4.0) Kanaani(4,5) Hajsafi(3.5)
Jahankabash(5.5) Gholizadeh(4.5) Ghoddos(5.0) Ezatolahi(4.5)
Taremi(7.5) Azmoun(4.5)

Star Player:

Mehdi Taremi has been scoring goals for fun at Porto in both the Portuguese league and the UCL this season. He is Iran’s most prolific goalscorer who is on pens and will have the entire team built around him.

Budget Baller:

Ehran Hajsafi of AEK Athens is a versatile player who can play multiple positions across the pitch and is a crucial player for the Iranian national team with 107 caps to his name. He’s priced at just 3.5 and is listed as a defender when he may play much further up the pitch, this may be a downside though as Iran will probably concede way too many.

Group C World Cup Fantasy Predicted Lineups:

Argentina:

  • Fixtures: Saudi Arabia – 22nd Nov Mexico – 26th Nov Poland – 30th Nov
  • FIFA Ranking: 3rd

Predicted Lineup: 4-3-3

E.Martinez(5.5)
Molina(5.5) Romero(5.5) Li.Martinez(6.0) Acuna(4.5)
De Paul(5.0) Paredes(4.5) Mac Allister(7.0)
Messi(10.5) La.Martinez(8.0) Di Maria(8.5)

Star Player:

Argentina are seeking their third-ever World Cup and will rely on the greatest footballer ever to help them do just that. Messi is wowing the crowds this season with x goals and x assists in x games and with a price of 10.5 is set to be a great asset and captain option to own. This looks to be the 35 year-olds final World Cup and he’ll be hoping to go out with a bang.

Budget Baller:

Rodrigo De Paul has been heavily underpriced at 5.0 and will be nailed on with Lo Celso’s new injury. Although De Paul will be playing in a deeper position than he does for Atletico we all know how good he is at getting forward and he should be a ball recovery monster. A real cheap gem to help us spend big on those juicy premiums.

Poland:

  • Fixtures: Mexico- 22nd Nov Saudi Arabia – 26th Nov Argentina – 30th Nov
  • FIFA Ranking: 12th

Predicted Lineup: 3-4-1-2

Szczesny(5.5)
Glik(4.0) Bednarek(4.5) Kiwior(4.0) . Cash(4.0) Bielik(5.0) Krychowiak(6.0) Zalewski(5.0)
Zielinski(6.5)
Lewandowski(10.0) Milik(7.5)

Star Player:

When it comes to Poland’s star, there’s only one man, Bundesliga all-time top scorer Robert Lewandowski. Robert is arguably the best striker of this generation and will score goals no matter what team you put him in but, he is very highly-priced in this year’s World Cup fantasy, coming in at 10.0 Milliion.

Budget Baller:

Matty Cash is a nailed-on 4.0 defender who is playing as an advanced wingback. Those who played FPL last year know just how clinical the former Englishman is in front of goal. 4.0 is just too cheap and he will definitely get something from those first 2 games

Saudi Arabia:

  • Fixtures: Argentina – 21st Nov Mexico – 25th Nov Poland – 29th Nov
  • FIFA Ranking: 53rd

Predicted Lineup: 4-3-3

Al Owais(4.0)
Abdulhamid(4.0) Al Amri(4.0) Albulayhi(x.x) Al Sharhani(4.0)
Kanno(4.0) Al Faraj(4.0) N.Al Dawsari(X.X)
Al Mullawad(4.5) Al Buraikan(x.x) S.Al Dawsari(4.5)

Star Player:

Al Hilal MVP Salem Al Dawsari will be hoping to help his team reach the round of 16 as he is the only real attacking threat and a goal-lacking team. Despite having a good goalscoring record for his country and being on pens, Al Dwasari still doesn’t look too appealing.

Budget Baller:

The entire team is worth under 4.5 and none of them really stand out but I’ve gone for Salman Al-Farah due to the fact that the versatile midfielder is a regular in the starting lineup who can play further up the field.

Mexico

  • Fixtures: Poland – 22nd Nov Argentina – 26th Nov Saudi Arabia – 30th Nov
  • FIFA Ranking: 13th

Predicted lineup: 4-3-3

Ochoa

Jesus Gallardo – Moreno – Montes – Sanchez

Andres Guadrado – Edon Alvarez – Rodriguez

Vega – Jimenez – Lozano

Group D World Cup Fantasy Predicted Lineups:

Denmark:

  • Fixtures: Tunisia – 22nd Nov France – 26th Nov Australia – 30th Nov
  • FIFA Ranking: 10th

Predicted Lineup: 3-4-3

Schmeichel(5.0)
Andersen(5.0) Kjaer(5.0) A.Christensen(5.0)
Kristensen(4.0) Højberg(6.5) Delaney(5.5) Mæhle(4.5)
Skov-Olson(6.0) Dolberg(7.5) Eriksen(8.0)

Star Player:

Eriksen is the spearhead of a dangerous-looking Denmark attack in a Group they should easily be getting out of. The Man United man has represented his nation an incredible 117 times scoring 39 goals in that time. Eriksen is on all set pieces and if Denmark get a goal you can bet that he was a part of it.

Budget Baller:

Joachim Mæhle looks to be one of the best value players in the entire game at 4.5. One of the most attacking fullbacks in world football Mæhle has a great scoring record for his national team with 9 goals in just 31 appearances. Those who played Euro 2020 will remember him fondly for his weekly returns and should continue that exceptional form in the World Cup

France:

  • Fixtures: Australia- 22nd Nov Denmark – 26th Nov Tunisia – 30th Nov
  • FIFA Ranking: 4th

Predicted Lineup: 3-4-1-2

Lloris(6.0)
Koundé(6.0) Varane(6.0) Saliba(5.0) Pavard(5.0) Tchouaméni(6.5) Rabiot(6.5) T.Hernandez(5.0)
Griezmann(8.5)
Giroud(7.5) Mbappé(11.5)

Injury update: Benzema is ruled out of the World Cup due to injury. Giroud is expected to slot in the center.

Star Player:

France have two of the best strikers in the world and both of them do so much for their country, even though Benzema has pens I still think Mbappé is more crucial to the way they play by dropping deep and linking the midfield and attack. The forward is on fire this season in that deadly PSG front three and will hope to bring that form to the national team.

Budget Baller:

Benjamin Pavard has been a regular starter for France under Deschamps in an advanced rwb role yet is still priced at only 5.0. Even with Frances’ crazy defensive options the Bayern star should play most of the games and can get the ball in the back of the net as he showed with his famous volley last World Cup.

Tunisia:

  • Fixtures: Denmark – 21st Nov Australia – 25th Nov France- 29th Nov
  • FIFA Ranking: 30th

Predicted Lineup: 4-3-3

Ben Saïd(4.0)
Drager(4.0) Ifa(4.0) Talbi(4.0) Abdi(4.0)
Chaaleli(4.0) Skhiri(5.0) Laidouni(4.0)
Sliti(5.0) Jaziri(4.5) Msakni(4.5)

Star Player:

With their star player Whabi Khazri losing his place in recent games it looks like Naim Sliti will have to lead Tunisia into this year’s World Cup. The former Lille man has 13 international goals in 55 caps and will hope to help Tunisia into the knockouts for the first time ever.

Budget Baller:

Tunisia is another team with a full squad of cheap players but the standout is Whabi Khazri despite not being expected to start. The veteran is his country’s second all-time top-scorer and will be the focal point of the attack also taking penalties when on the pitch. He is one of the best 4.5 mid enablers in the game.

Australia:

  • Fixtures: France – 21st Nov Tunisia – 25th Nov Denmark – 29th Nov
  • FIFA Ranking: 38th

Predicted Lineup: 4-2-3-1

M.Ryan(4.5)
Karacic(4.0) Souttar(4.0) Degenek(4.5) Behich(4.5)
Mooy(5.0) Irvine(4.5)
M.Boyle(4.5) Hrustić(5.0) Goodwin(4.5)
Maclaren(5.0)

Star Player:

Some may be surprised that Aaron Mooy is still kicking about after he left Brighton 2 years ago. He has not stopped pulling the strings in Australia’ s midfield since he first joined the national team in 2012. Despite the fact that he’s on multiple set pieces 5.0 just seems like way too much for someone who probably won’t make it out of the group.

Budget Baller:

Craig Goodwin has been balling out for Adelaide United over the past 2 A-League seasons earning his spot in the World Cup team. 4.5 is a great price for such an attacking winger but the tricky first fixture puts you off him.

Group E World Cup Fantasy Predicted Lineups:

Spain:

  • Fixtures: Costa Rica – 23rd Nov Germany – 27th Nov Japan – 1st Dec
  • FIFA Ranking: 7th

Predicted Lineup: 4-3-3

Unai Simón(5.5)
Carvajal(6.0)/Azpilicueta(5.0) P.Torres(5.5) Laporte(5.5) Alba(6.0)
Koke(6.0) Rodri(6.5) Pedri(8.5)
F.Torres(7.0) Morata(8.0) Sarabia(7.5)

Star Player:

Alvaro Morata seems overpriced at 8.0 with all the other great forward options out there but if have a closer look you’d see that the man has a great record for Spain and seems to be the only out-and-out striker selected in his nations squad for the World Cup so starting should not be a problem

Budget Baller:

None of Spain’s team is particularly cheap so I’ve gone for Aymeric Laporte. The former Frenchman is a solid rock in Spain’s defence who started all 6 of their Euro 2020 games. At 5.5 there are a lot of better options, especially with the tough German game to play.

Japan:

  • Fixtures: Germany – 23rd Nov Costa Rica – 27th Nov Spain – 1st Dec
  • FIFA Ranking: 24th

Predicted Lineup: 4-3-3

Gonda(x.x)
Nagatomo(3.5) Tomiyasu(4.5) Yoshida(4.5) H.Ito(4.5)
Endo(5.0) Kamada(5.5) Morita(5,5)
J.Ito(6.0) Mitoma(5.5) Minamino(7.0)

Star Player:

The only guaranteed starter in the Japan attack, Takumani Minamino is the main threat for his national team. He comes in as a 7.0 midfielder on freekicks, corners and possible pens. He does seem a tad too expensive but when Japan scores it’s most likely him.

Budget Baller:

5.5 Mitoma had a shout to be included although, in the end, I went with former Inter and Marseille defender Yuto Nagatomo. A nailed-on Coppa Italia and 2-time Super Lïg winner who has 137 caps to his name and the ability to play at either fullback for just 3.5? An absolute steal despite the first fixture.

Germany:

  • Fixtures: Japan – 23rd Nov Spain – 27th Nov Costa Rica – 1st Dec
  • FIFA Ranking: 11th

Predicted Lineup: 4-2-3-1

Neuer(6.0)
Kehrer(5.0) Rüdiger(5.5) Sule(5.0) Raum(4.5)
Kimmich(7.0) Gündogan(7.5)
Gnabry(9.0) Musiala(8.0) Sané(9.0)
Havertz(8.5)

Star Player:

Serge Gnabry is on terrific form for Bayern this season, racking up 8 goals and 3 assists in his first 15 Bundesliga games this season. He will be hoping that this form will get him a starting spot in a crazily stacked German attack. Serge is such a versatile player having the ability to play on either wing or in a False-9 role. His major downside is his hefty price tag and 2 tough fixtures to start off with.

Budget Baller:

Again Germany don’t really have any super cheap players so my pick will go to Davide Raum. With no other real left back options in the Germany squad Raum should play the majority of games for Germany. The Leipzig man is the cheapest route into a good defence as well as being a danger going forward shown by his 11 Bundesliga assists last season.

Costa Rica:

  • Fixtures: Germany – 23rd Nov Japan – 27th Nov Spain – 1st Dec
  • FIFA Ranking: 31st

Predicted Lineup: 4-2-3-1

Navas(5.0)
C.Martinez(4.0) Duarte(4.0) Calvo(4.0) Oviedo(4.5)
Tejeda(4.5) Borges(4.5)
Campbell(6.0) G.Torres(5.0) Bennette(4.5)
Contreras(5.0)

Star Player:

Former Arsenal youth prospect Joel Campbell will be hoping to lead his nation out of ‘the group of death’. Despite never really finding his feet at club level Campbell played 119 games for Costa Rica scoring 25 goals in that time. FIFA have unfortunately heavily overpriced him as a 6.0 forward nobody will really go near him.

Budget Baller:

18-year-old Sunderland prospect Jewison Bennette has already scored 2 international goals in 7 games despite not even getting a start for his club this season. The rising star has won his place in the Costa Rica starting 11 ahead of the World Cup making him incredibly tempting at 4.5 but the difficult group makes him much less appealing.

Group F World Cup Fantasy Predicted Lineups:

Belgium:

  • Fixtures: Canada – 23rd Nov Morocco – 27th Nov Croatia – 1st Dec
  • FIFA Ranking: 19th

Predicted Lineup: 3-4-3

Courtois(6.0)
Dendoncker(5.5) Alderweireld(5.5) Vertonghen(5.0)
Castagne(5.5) Tielemans(6.0) Witsel(6.0) Carrasco(7.0)
De Bruyne(11.0) Batshuayi(6.5) E.Hazard(8.0)

Star Player:

One of the best players of this generation Kevin De Bruyne is Belgium’s main man. The two-time Premier League POTY will be hoping to help Belgium make the best of their ‘last dance’ with most of their key players set to retire before the next World Cup. 11.0 is a big price but on all set pieces, including pens if Lukaku is out, and a captaincy option every week KDB will be in most teams.

Budget Baller: Timothy Castagne

Croatia:

  • Fixtures: Morocco – 23rd Nov Canada – 27th Nov Belgium – 1st Dec
  • FIFA Ranking: 12th

Predicted Lineup: 4-3-3

Livaković(5.0)
Juranović(5.0) Šutalo(4.5) Gvardiol(4.0) Sosa(3.5)
Modrić(8.5) Brozović(6.0) Kovačić(6.5)
Pašalić(5.0) Kramarić(5.5) Perišić(7.5)

Star Player:

Ballon D’or winner Luka Modrić will be Croatia’s star man this winter. Two good first fixtures, on all set pieces and with over 150 caps to his name Modrič would be great option if he wasn’t so highly priced at 8.0,

Budget Baller:

Bjorn Sosa has been talked about a lot as one of the best budget defenders in the game and he seems to live up to the hype. A very attacking wingback for Stuttgart he has 23 Bundesliga assists in his last 4 seasons and, despite only having 8 international caps, has found his place in the Croatia team as of late. The only worry is a recent injury picked up in training that ruled him out of his club’s recent Bundesliga game and may potentially force him to miss Croatia’s game against Morocco.

Morocco:

  • Fixtures: Croatia – 23rd Nov Belgium – 27th Nov Canada – 1st Dec
  • FIFA Ranking: 21st

Predicted Lineup: 4-3-3

Bounou(4.5)
Hakimi(5.0) Saiss(4.5) Aguerd(4.0) Mazroui(5.0)
Harit(6.5) Amrabat(5.5) Ounahi(5.0)
Ziyech(7.0) En-Nesyri(5.5) Boufal(6.0)

Star Player:

Achraf Hakimi is one of the most attacking fullbacks in the world and has always led his national team out from the back. On freekicks (and very capable of scoring them) and being priced at just 5.0 in a solid Morocco defence Hakimi is very tempting despite the tricky(ish) group.

Budget Baller:

Nobody in this Morocco team strikes me as particularly cheap so I’ve gone for 5.5 Sevilla striker Youssouf En-Nesyri. A great record of 14 goals in 35 national and regular Champions League football seems too good to be true but when you take a deeper look, terrible form for Sevilla and doubts over his starting spot puts him out of the equation.

Canada:

  • Fixtures: Belgium – 23rd Nov Croatia – 27th Nov Morocco – 1st Dec
  • FIFA Ranking: 41st

Predicted Lineup: 4-2-3-1

Borjan(4.5)
A.Johnston(4.5) Vitoria(4.0) Miller(4.0) Adekugbe(4.5)
Estáquio(5.5) Hutchinson(5.5)
Buchanan(5.5) Larin(5.5) A.Davies(5.0)
J.David(6.0)

Star Player:

Bayern fullback Alphonso Davies usually plays much further up the pitch for Canada, either on the wing or upfront. A 5.0 OOP defender with great attacking ability is great but Canada are one of the worst teams in the competition and won’t keep too many CS.

Budget Baller:

Former Liga Nos winner Vitoria is a nailed on cb for Canada who would be on pens if for whatever reason David isn’t playing. But, same as Davies, plays for a bad team with a bad defence.

Group G World Cup Fantasy Predicted Lineups:

Switzerland:

  • Fixtures: Cameroon – 24th Nov Brazil – 28th Nov Serbia- 2nd Dec
  • FIFA Ranking: 15th

Predicted Lineup: 4-2-3-1

Sommer(5.0)
Widmer(4.5) Akanji(5.0) Elvedi(4.5) R.Rodriguez(4.5)
Freuler(5.0) Xhaka(7.0)
Shaqiri(7.5) Sow(5.0) Vargas(6.0)
Embolo(6.5)

Star Player:

Granit Xhaka has been on fire for Arsenal this season and captains a great-looking Switzerland team into a World Cup many expect them to do well in. But he is just WAY too expensive at 7.0 for a dm.

Budget Baller:

Ricardo Rodriguez is the only defender on pens this World Cup despite missing his last two for his nation, including one in the amazing 3-3 draw with France in the Euros. Able to play lb and cb in a back 3 and priced at 4.5 in a group Switzerland should easily qualify from the Torino man could be a great differential

Brazil:

  • Fixtures: Serbia – 24th Nov Switzerland – 28th Nov Cameroon- 2nd Dec
  • FIFA Ranking: 15th

Predicted Lineup: 4-2-3-1

Alisson(6.0)
Danilo(5.5) Militão(5.0)/T.Silva Marquinhos(5.5) Alex Sandro(5.0)
Fred(6.0) Casimero(6.0)
Raphinha(8.5) Neymar(10.5) Vincius Jr(10.5)/Paqueta(7.0)
Richarlison(7.5)

Star Player:

Neymar is in the form of his life for PSG with 20 goals and assists in 20 Ligue Une matches this season. On all set pieces, playing for the favourites to win it all and in a group they should easily qualify from, Ney will be one of highest owned players in the game.

Budget Baller:

Eder Militão could provide great value at 5.0 playing in one of the best national defences in the world. The Real Madrid man can play both cb and rb and has shown before he can certainly pop up with a headed goal. There is a slight worry that he doesn’t find a starting place with Danilo playing rb so most will prefer Marquinhos if the extra 0.5 can be found.

Serbia:

  • Fixtures: Brazil – 24th Nov Cameroon – 28th Nov Switzerland – 2nd Dec
  • FIFA Ranking: 21st

Predicted Lineup: 3-4-1-2

V.Milinković-Savić(4.0)
Milenković(4.0) S.Mitrović(4.5) Pavlović(x.x) Živković(5.0) Lukić(5.0) S.Milinković-Savić(7.0) Kostić(6.0)
Tadić(8.0)
Vlahović(8,5) A.Mitrović(7.0)

Star Player:

Serbia don’t really rely on one player as they have 4 or 5 different key players but if I had to pick one it would be Sergej Milinković-Savić. The Lazio star has been one of the best Serie A players over the last 7 years and has been on the radar of top clubs for a long time. When he plays for Serbia nearly every move goes through him and he is a key pass machine. Although, having favourites Brazil first makes him hard to start with in our MD1 drafts.

Budget Baller:

Nikola Milenković is a rock at the back for Fiorentina and Serbia. Guaranteed to start all the games at 4.0 is half of what you want but the fixtures and group let him down.

Cameroon:

  • Fixtures: Switzerland – 24th Nov Serbia – 28th Nov Brazil – 2nd Dec
  • FIFA Ranking: 43rd

Predicted Lineup: 4-4-2

Onana(5.0)
Fai(4.5) Castelletto(4.0) N’Koulou(4.5) Tolo(4.0)
Ngamaleu(5.5) Ounahi(5.0) Zambo-Anguissa(7.0) Toko-Ekambi(7.0)
Choupo-Moting(7.5) Aboubakar(8.0)

Star Player:

AFCON top -scorer and AFCON Fantasy hero Vincent Aboubakar has scored goals wherever he’s played whether for club or nation. He is Cameroon’s second top scorer after legend Samuel Eto’o with 33 goals to his name and could easily bag in any of their group games despite it being a tough group for his nation.

Budget Baller:

Jean-Charles Castelletto is nailed on having started 6 of Cameroon’s last 7 international fixtures at cb. After the shock dropping of key defender Ngadeu-Ngadjiu from the World Cup squad completely Casteletto have even more chance of starting every game. 4.0 is cheap but the Cameroon defence wasn’t great at AFCON and won’t be much better this winter.

Group H World Cup Fantasy Predicted Lineups:

Uruguay:

Fixtures: S.Korea – 24th Nov Portugal – 28th Nov Ghana – 2nd Dec
FIFA Ranking: 14th

Predicted Lineup: 4-4-2

Rochet(4.0)
Araujo(3.5) Godín(4.0) Giménez(5.0) Olivera(4.5)
De La Cruz(5.5) Valverde(8.5) Bentancur(6.0) De Arrascaeta(5.5)
L.Suárez(7.5) Núñez(8.0)

Note: Araujo is an injury concern and is doubtful for Matchday 1.

Star Player:

Despite his age Luis Suárez will still be leading the line for Uruguay at his fourth World Cup. His goalscoring record is amazing for all his clubs and his national teams and he hasn’t showed any signs of slowing down over time even wit Darwin Núñez rising up the ranks. 7.5 is a fair price and 2 good fixtures unfortunately broken up by Portugal Suarez could provide good value if you want to use a valuable forward pot on him

Budget Baller:

Ronald Araujo has been priced so cheaply at 3.5 due to the fact that he may not be fit for the group stage games after suffering an injury with Barcelona. But that just seems way too cheap for a player of that quality in a team that should qualify for their group. He may not be a pick for the first 2 week but for MD3 if he is fit a great budget differential

Portugal:

Fixtures: Ghana – 24th Nov Uruguay – 28th Nov S.Korea – 2nd Dec
FIFA Ranking: 9th

Predicted Lineup: 4-2-3-1

Costa(5.0)
Cancelo(6.0) Dias(5.5) D.Pereira(6.0) N.Mendes(5.5)
Neves(7.5) William(6.0)
Bernardo(9.0) Bruno(9.5) Leão(8.0)
Ronaldo(10.0)

Star Player:

Cristiano Ronaldo is having a terrible time at United this season, falling out with the club, his teammates and his manager, which he will be hoping to put behind him when joining Portugal ahead of potentially his last World Cup. Many will be put off him due to his bad form for Man U but don’t forget that he is on both freekicks and penalties and won’t accept anything other than going out with a bang.

Budget Baller:

Diogo Costa is the cheapest route into a good Portugal defence that should keep a couple of clean sheets in the group stages. UCL Fantasy players that owned the Porto man will have fond memories of his 3 consecutive cleansheets and pen saves becoming the 4th top points scorer and top for goalies in the group stage. If he repeats his heroics in the World Cup then 5.0 is just too cheap.

S.Korea:

  • Fixtures: Uruguay – 24th Nov Ghana – 28th Nov Portugal- 2nd Dec
  • FIFA Ranking: 28th

Predicted Lineup: 4-2-3-1

Kim S-G(4.5)
Kim T-H(4.0) Kim M-J(4.5) Kim Y-G(4.0) Kim J-S(4.5)
Jung W-Y(5.0) Hwang I-B(5.0)
Hwang H-C(6.5) Lee J-S(5.5) Son H-M(8.5)
Hwang U-J(5.5)

Star Player:

Heung-Min Son may not have Harry Kane partnering him up front in the World Cup but he will still be just as lethal. 8.5 is quite cheap for Son but it is very annoying that he has been listed as a forward as midfielders look better in World Cup fantasy. A difficult group doesn’t help bu we all know Son can rifle one from outside the box against anyone

Budget Baller:

Young-Gwon Kim is 4.0 and nailed on in South Korea’s defence of Kims. The veteran has 96 caps to his name and won the South-Korean footballer of the year award in 2015. SK’s defence isn’t the greatest but so you could find better 4.0 enablers.

Ghana:

  • Fixtures: Portugal – 24th Nov S.Korea – 28th Nov Uruguay- 2nd Dec
  • FIFA Ranking: 61st

Predicted Lineup: 4-2-3-1

Ati(4.0)
Odoi(4.0) Amartey(4.5) Djiku(4.5) R.Baba(3.5)
Partey(6.0) I.Baba(5.5)
J.Ayew(6.0) Kudus(6.0) A.Ayew(6.0)
Williams(6.5)

Star Player:

Iñaki Williams has only just made the switch from Spain to Ghana and is already one of his nation’s key players. He will hope to carry over his good form in Laliga this season to his first ever World Cup. Not many will go for him with a tricky first fixture though

Budget Baller:

Abdul Rahman Baba will be a regular starter at lb in Ghana’s team at the cheapest price available in the game. Don’t expect too many cleansheets though as he plays for the worst-ranked team in the tournament with Portugal and Uruguay in their group.
