All Premier League Teams Predicted GW16 Lineups
Arsenal
The only point of note for Arsenal from the 1-0 victory over Chelsea was that Zinchenko finally returned from injury and came straight into the starting lineup. He should stay in for the trip to Wolves.
Last week’s success rate: 10/11 (We predicted 10 starters correctly last week)
Arsenal GW16 Predicted formation:
- 4-3-3
Arsenal GW16 Predicted lineup:
Ramsdale
White – Saliba – Gabriel – Zinchenko
Xhaka – Partey – Odegaard
Saka – Jesus – Martinelli
Arsenal PC/Injury Update(11/11/22):
Mikel Arteta said in his pre-Wolves press conference that Arsenal have no new injuries at the moment.
Aston Villa
If there’s one thing we know about Emery, it’s that he doesn’t really like changing a winning formula, and the 3-1 victory over United may mean that the same team persists. That being said, Kamara did finally return from injury so he could go into the team.
Last week’s success rate: 9/11 (We predicted 9 starters correctly last week)
Aston Villa GW16 Predicted Formation
- 4-2-3-1
Aston Villa GW16 Predicted Lineup:
Martinez
Cash – Mings – Konsa – Digne
Kamara – Douglas Luiz
Ramsey – Buendia – Bailey
Watkins
Aston Villa PC/injury Update (10/11/22)
This game is very close to the World Cup, are you going to have everybody available? Argentina have suggested they might want to take players earlier. Will Emi Martinez play?
Emery said: Yes I think (our World Cup players) are going to be available on Sunday to play. We need them and we are happy because the players playing in the World Cup is amazing for them and you have to respect the national team and the individual performance of them but, Sunday, we are playing a very important match and those three points, for us, are important to get behind us. From Briminghammail
Bournemouth
ONeil persisted with the same side that lost out to Tottenham from 2 goals down and his team once more gave up a 2-goal lead to lose. For GW16, Mepham will be suspended so Jack Stephens could play in the back 4 in place of Mepham. Ryan Fredericks played in the weekend and was rested for the Carabao cup game which means he starts ahead of Zemura in GW16.
Last week’s success rate: 10/11 (We predicted 10 starters correctly last week)
Bournemouth GW16 Predicted formation
- 3-5-2
Bournemouth GW16 Predicted lineup:
Mark Travers
Smith- Jack Stephens – Sensei – Ryan Fredericks
Tavernier – Lerma – Cook – Billing
Moore – Solanke
Bournemouth PC/Injury Update (10/11/22)
Asked for an injury roll call at his pre-match press conference, O’Neil said: “We are the same as we were.
“Lloyd Kelly doesn’t look like he will make it, it’s not definite but we have the World Cup break coming up and he will definitely be fine after that. The Everton game might just come too soon for him.”
O’Neil was also asked about the fitness of defender Jordan Zemura who was replaced by Ryan Fredericks midway through the second half of the midweek win over Everton in the Carabao Cup.
Zemura, who has featured in ten Premier League games this season, required a spell of treatment after being caught by a poor challenge from Anthony Gordon in the first half on Tuesday.
“He’s fine and he came out of it okay,” said O’Neil. “We just have a couple of bumps and bruises from the game but nothing too significant.”
Neto is also out until the WC break.
Brighton
Welbeck returned to the bench for their match against Wolves at the weekend with Mitoma starting again and he was arguably the best player on the pitch so should stay in the side. The rest of the side should remain the same.
Last week’s success rate: 11/11 (We predicted 11 starters correctly last week)
Brighton GW16 Predicted formation
- 3-4-2-1
Brighton GW16 Predicted lineup:
Sanchez
March – Webster – Dunk – Estupinan
MacAllister – Caicedo – Gross
Lallana – Mitoma
Trossard
Brighton PC/Injury Updates(11/11/22)
Roberto De Zerbi confirmed he has no fresh injury concerns in his press conference on Friday afternoon.
“Our focus is on Aston Villa,” the head coach said. “We want to win the game, it’s going to be difficult, but we have the potential to win because we’re in a good moment. Aston Villa won against United last Sunday and I watched the game, they have good players.”
Brentford
As expected, LewisPotter came into the side for Toney but he wasn’t very effective and was taken off after an hour so Toney should come straight back in.
Ajer also has a muscle injury ruling him out for the weekend, in which case Mads Roerslev will probably start at right back again.
Christian Nørgaard has also made his much-awaited return from injury and played in the Carabao cup game and could go into the midfield.
Brentford play a 5 man defence against almost all top six teams which means Zanka could start with Brentford lining up in a 3-5-2.
Last week’s success rate: 9/11 (We predicted 9 starters correctly last week)
Brentford GW16 Predicted formation:
- 4-3-3
Brentford GW16 Predicted lineup:
Raya
Zanka – Pinnock – Mee
Mads Roerslev – Janlet – Jensen – Norgaard – Henry
Mbeumo – Toney
Brentford PC/Injury Update(11/11/22)
Christian Norgaard and Vitaly Janelt will both be available for Brentford against Manchester City on Saturday. Janelt missed EFL Cup tie against Gillingham with an adductor issue and Norgaard only played 45mins on his return from an Achilles injury.
Chelsea
It was once more a dismal performance from Chelsea and another host of changes from Potter. Koulibaily was fit enough to start on the bench against Brighton and played against Man City in the midweek Carabao cup game so he could come back in against Newcastle. With the attacking players on show at Arsenal not firing, Pulisic may come in, as could Kovacic.
Last week’s success rate: 8/11 (We predicted 8 starters correctly last week)
Chelsea GW16 Predicted formation:
- 3-4-1-2
Chelsea GW16 Predicted lineup:
Mendy
Azpi – Thiago Silva – Koulibaily – Cucurella
Loftus Cheek – Kovacic
Pulisic – Mount – Sterling
Aubameyang
Chelsea PC/Injury Update(11/11/22)
‘Jorgi trained today,’ reported Potter, ‘so providing there’s no reaction he should be in the squad [for Newcastle]. There is nothing else to report in terms of returnees.’
Wesley Fofana remains out with a knee problem, as do N’Golo Kante & Carney Chukwuemeka following hamstring injuries. James and Chilwell are also out definitely along with Kepa who has not been training.
Crystal Palace
Edouard was nursing an injury concern and trained only in the latter part of last week which meant he didn’t make it to the matchday squad and Zaha started through the middle. It remains to be seen if Vieira will persist with the same or Edouard will come straight back in
Last week’s success rate: 9/11 (We predicted 9 starters correctly last week)
Crystal Palace GW16 Predicted Formation
- 4-3-3
Crystal Palace GW16 Predicted lineup:
Guaita
Clyne – Guehi – Andersen – Mitchell
Schulpp – Eze – Doucoure
Ayew – Zaha – Olise
Crystal Palace PC/Injury Update(11/11/22)
“We will miss Mcarthy, Nathan and Chris [Richards].
“Edouard trained this morning with the team, and he will be traveling with us. We will see tomorrow if he will be in the squad or not.”
When asked whether he hoped to have James McArthur back involved with the first team after the break for the World Cup, Vieira added: “Yeah, that is the target.
Everton
Lampard made one change to the side that lost to with McNeil coming in for Gordon, but I’d expect that to be reversed for GW16. In what’s becoming a bit of a theme, CalvertLewin picked up another injury so Maupay will probably come back in.
Last week’s success rate: 9/11 (We predicted 9 starters correctly last week)
Everton GW16 Predicted formation
- 4-3-2-1
Everton GW16 Predicted lineup
Pickford
Coleman– Tarkowski – Coady – Mykolenko
Onana – Iwobi – Gueye
Gordon – Gray
Maupay
Everton PC/Injury Update (08/11/22)
“[Onana and Gana] are fit. They’ve trained. As long as we don’t have any issues in the next 24 hours, then they’ll be available.
“[Calvert-Lewin] won’t be involved. He’s had a few bangs, to be fair to Dominic, that he’s been playing with and we hope the break comes at a good time for him and we expect him back for Wolves on Boxing Day.
Ben Godfrey, who last week returned to training after recovering from a fractured fibula sustained in the opening game of the season, will not be fit enough to feature.
Andros Townsend remains sidelined as he completes the latter stages of his rehabilitation from an ACL injury suffered in March.
Fulham
With Dekodover Reid suspended, Tete came in at right back, and will more or less hold his place. Mitrovic also missed out, but that was in all likelihood just to manage his ongoing injury so he should play GW16.
Mitrovic is ruled out so Vinicius should play ahead of him.
Last week’s success rate: 10/11 (We predicted 10 starters correctly last week)
Fulham GW16 Predicted formation:
- 4-2-3-1
Fulham GW16 Predicted lineup:
Leno
Reid – Ream – Diop – Robinson
Palhinha – Chalobah
Wilson- Andreas – Willian
Vinicius
Fulham PC/Injury updates(11/11/22)
Marco Silva confirmed in his pre-match press conference that Aleksandar Mitrović will not feature against Manchester United.
The striker initially picked up his foot injury while on international duty, but Silva quashed rumours that he had two broken bones.
We will also be without Harrison Reed and Kenny Tete after the pair accumulated a fifth booking of the season each last weekend, but Bobby De Cordova-Reid returns from a similar suspension.
Kebano is a long-term injury absentee.
Leeds United
The most notable thing to take out of Leeds’ dramatic win over Bournemouth was the effect Wilfried Gnonto had after coming on at the half time. It’d be incredibly harsh for him not to start in GW16 after the performance he put in. The rest of the team should remain the same. Koch and Bamford are out which means Rodrigo will continue up top and Llorente will come in for Koch.
Last week’s success rate: 11/11 (We predict all 11 starters correctly last week)
Leeds United GW16 Predicted formation:
- 4-2-3-1
Leeds United GW16 Predicted lineup:
Meslier
Kristensen – Cooper – Llorente – Struijik
Adams-Roca
Summerville – Aaronson – Gnonto
Rodrigo
Leeds Injury/PC Updates(11/11/22)
“Patrick is out for this match, Klich took a knock to the knee and will be out. Jack Harrison is a little questionable with a muscle strain but we’re hopeful in the next 24 hours he’ll be available.”
Leicester City
As we thought would be the case, Rogers went back to the team that we’d become familiar with compared to the one that featured Man City. We can expect the same against West Ham. Evans returned from his injury against Newport in the midweek carabao cup game and should replace Amartey in defence.
Last week’s success rate: 10/11 (We predicted 10 starters correctly last week)
Leicester City GW16 Predicted formation:
- 4-4-2
Leicester City GW16 Predicted lineup:
Ward
Thomas – Faes – Evans – Castagne
Tielemans – Ndidi – Dewsbury Hall
Maddison – Daka – Barnes
Leicester PC/Injury Update(10/11/22)
He’ll have his operation this evening and that will probably put him out for most of the season. Rodgers on Justin.
“Sadly, he’ll have an operation tonight,” Rodgers said on Thursday afternoon. “He’s ruptured his Achilles. It’s a huge disappointment to us all after coming back from another injury. He probably would have been close to Gareth [Southgate’s] plans [for England]. We were all hugely disappointed for him after the game.
The Foxes manager also confirmed that there are no fresh injury concerns ahead of Saturday’s trip to West Ham United (3pm GMT kick-off).
Liverpool
Liverpool looked more like their old selves in their 2-1 victory over Tottenham, so it’s probably fair to expect a very similar team to persist against Southampton at the weekend.
Last week’s success rate: 10/11 (We predicted 10 starters correctly last week)
Liverpool GW16 Predicted formation
- 4-3-3
Liverpool GW16 Predicted lineup:
Allison
TAA – Van Dijk – Konate – Robertson
Elliott – Fabinho – Thiago
Salah – Nunez – Firmino
Liverpool PC/Injury Updates(11/11/22)
James Milner is coming back into contention having returned to training following a concussion and Joel Matip has also been involved alongside his teammates again.
Luis Diaz and Naby Keita are continuing their recoveries from injury, while Diogo Jota and Arthur Melo remain longer-term absentees.
“Milner is back in training today, Naby Keita is out and running, Luis Diaz is back on the pitch and running,” Klopp added in Friday’s media briefing.
“Joel Matip trained, he trained with us, he was in three-fourths, pretty much the whole session but the last bit he didn’t do. But he is now obviously available as well – would be available but has only trained once with the team.”
Manchester City
It’s anybody’s guess as to what City team we’ll see against Brentford. We can assume that Haaland’ll come back in, and after being benched for the last three, you have to think Foden comes back in.
Last week’s success rate: 7/11 correct predictions last week
Manchester City GW16 Predicted formation
- 4-3-3
Manchester City GW16 Predicted lineup:
Ederson
Stones -Akanji – Ake – Cancelo
De Bruyne- Rodri – Gundogan
Foden – Haaland – B Silva
Man City PC/injury Update(11/11/22)
Erling Haaland is ‘a little better’ but ManCity will see this afternoon whether he is fit to start vs Brentford, says Pep Guardiola.
Kyle Walker is ruled out of ManCity vs Brentford, confirms Pep Guardiola. Kalvin Phillips is available again.
Manchester United
There was an enforced change for Ten Hag as the suspended Bruno was replaced by Van De Beek who it has to be said really underwhelmed in the 3-1 defeat to Villa.
With Antony out injured, Garnacho also came in and he was among United’s brighter sparks so could start again providing the Brazilian is still out.
Dalot also picked up his 5th yellow of the season so he’ll be suspended against Fulham.
Ten Hag on Martial
”But, [be] quite clear, in my way of playing I like the type [of player] Antony Martial is, because he can hold the ball,” added Ten Hag.
”He is a [also] a target, he can link up, but he can also run behind.
”He has speed, he can finish, and he has good pressure [presses well].”
Last week’s success rate: 9/11 (We predicted 9 starters correctly last week)
Manchester United GW16 Predicted formation:
- 4-2-3-1
Manchester United GW16 Predicted lineup:
De Gea
Malacia – Martinez – Lindelof – Shaw
Eriksen – Casemiro
Rashford – Bruno – Garanacho
Martial
Man United PC/injury Update(11/11/22)
“I can’t guarantee that [Cristiano will be available] now, but today he was ill,” Erik added. “He can recover from that, it’s not really a serious illness that takes days or weeks, so I think it’s possible that he is available for Sunday and he will be in the squad.”
“I think no big issues from yesterday’s game, but we have to see how players recover from illness, like Cristiano, [and] from injury, like Antony.
“Yesterday, Anthony Martial plays his first minutes from the start after Everton, so we have to see how he recovers. So we have some issues and some questions [to see] how we line up and what plan we take.”
Newcastle United
As we suspected might be the case, Murphy came in for the suspended Joelinton. The latter should go back in for Chelsea.
We’ll wait and see, he’s working well away from the group and I have a decision to make ~ Howe on Wilson.
If Wilson is out Wood could come in for him.
Last week’s success rate: 11/11 (We predicted 11 starters correctly last week)
Newcastle United GW16 Predicted formation:
- 4-3-3
Newcastle United GW16 Predicted lineup:
Pope
Trippier – Botman – Schar – Burn
Longstaff – Bruno Guimares – Willock
Almiron – Wilson – Joelinton
Newcastle Injury/PC Updates(11/11/22)
“We’ll wait and see, he’s been training separately from the group. He had an illness. I need to make a decision whether he is fit enough to play.” Eddie Howe says Callum Wilson will be a late call if he plays against Chelsea.
Nottingham Forest
Cooper made three changes for the match against Brentford. In what came as a bit of a surprise, Awoniyi came out for Johnson and Lodi missed out for Williams, with Dennis also getting another run out at the expense of Lingard. Awoniyi may well come back in for Palace but the rest of the team should be as is.
Last week’s success rate: 8/11 (We predicted 8 starters correctly last week)
Nottingham Forest GW16 Predicted formation:
- 4-3-3
Nottingham Forest GW16 Predicted lineup
Henderson
Aurier – Cook – McKenna – Wiliams
Kouyate – Yates – Frueler
Dennis – Gibbs White – Awoniyi
Nottingham Forest Injury News/PC Updates(11/11/22)
Scott McKenna and Cheikhou (Kouyate). We will see how they are going into the weekend. We also picked up a suspension with Orel (Mangala), so he won’t be available for the weekend.
“I haven’t really had chance to assess the boys from last night, with it being such a quick turnaround. But I don’t see any major concerns from the game, it’s just the knocks we picked up from last weekend.”
Southampton
In what was his final game in charge, Hassenhuttl made another string of changes, including that of Walcott inexplicably coming into the team and it certainly didn’t pay off. In what made for more positive news, Lavia returned from injury so he should come into the starting lineup against Liverpool.
Last week’s success rate: 6/11 (We predicted 6 starters correctly last week)
Southampton GW16 Predicted formation
- 4-2-3-1
Southampton GW16 Predicted lineup:
Bazunu
Perraud – Bella Kotchap – Salisu- Larios
Lavia – Ward Prowse
Stuart Armstrong – Aribo – Adam Armstrong
Che Adams
Southampton PC/Injury Update(11/11/22)
New manager Nathan Jones did not reveal too much of team news ahead of the trip to Liverpool.
Tottenham
The most notable thing to take from the Tottenham lineup was the fact Perisic played upfront alongside Kane. With Kulusevski and Mora now back fit, Perisic may well go to the more familiar position at left wing-back with Tottenham reverting to a 3-4-3.
Last week’s success rate: 10/11 (We predicted 10 starters correctly last week)
Spurs GW16 Predicted formation:
- 3-4-3
Spurs GW16 Predicted lineup:
Lloris
Lenglet – Dier – Davies
Royal – Bentancur – Hojbjerg – Perisic
Kulusevski – Kane – Richarlison
Spurs PC/Injury Update 11/11/22
Antonio reported: “Sessegnon, today he didn’t train with us, he has a little problem and he’s not available for tomorrow’s game. About Richarlison and Kulusevski, they had a training session, and I have one day to make the best decision.”
West Ham
After being passed fit for the clash with Palace, Paqueta came straight in at Downes’ expense. The same team should persist for Leicester.
Last week’s success rate: 11/11 (We predicted all 11 starters correctly last week)
West Ham GW16 Predicted Formation
- 4-2-3-1
West Ham GW16 Predicted lineup:
Fabianski
Kehrer – Zouma – Dawson – Cresswell
Rice – Soucek – Paqueta
Bowen -Scamacca – Benrahama
West Ham Injury/PC Updates (11/11/22)
“Emerson is touch-and-go because he broke his nose in the midweek game,” Moyes explained about the Italy wing-back’s fitness. “He’s had it reset but I’m not sure how he’s going to be.”
“Cornet is not available,” Moyes confirmed. “He won’t come back until after the World Cup.
“We’ve also got a couple of other knocks and niggles as well, which I’m sure all teams have, so we’re waiting on a couple of things for tomorrow to see who is available.”
Wolves
With Diego Costa suspended, Guedes came back into the side after a few games on the bench. At right back, Semedo had a torrid time in GW15 against Brighton but it was Jonny who played against Leeds in a 1-0 win midweek in the Carabao cup this could mean Semedo could come back.
Last week’s success rate: 9/11 (We predicted 9 starters correctly last week)
Wolves GW16 Predicted formation:
- 4-3-3
Wolves GW16 Predicted lineup:
Sa
Semedo- Kilman – Collins – Bueno
Neves – B Traore
Guedes – Nunes – Podence
Hwang Hee-Chan
Wolves PC/injury Update(11/11/22)
Outgoing manager Davis confirmed Nunes is back in what will be his last match in charge. Raul Jimenez is still absent. Costa is suspended and Kalajdzic is a long-term absentee.
As we said when predicting the GW15 lineups, there will definitely be some incorrect calls in here, however, we’ll always do our best job with the news we have. Article penned by @FPLHindsight(Drop him a follow on Twitter)
