GW15-GW16 Best FPL Forwards- Analysis and Comparison
Fixture Difficulty
Fixture Difficulty Rating:
Scamacca
- xGC rating: 15
- GC rating: 13
Wilson
- xGC rating: 25
- GC rating: 20
Calvert-Lewin
- xGC rating: 8
- GC rating: 5
Here, lower rating means easier opponents. Calvert-Lewin has the best fixtures in the next two Gameweeks.
Opponent’s Weakness Analysis
In this section, we will take a deep look at the opponent’s weaknesses. As all three of the players are Central Forward and good at aerial battles, we will consider shots conceded by heads, chances conceded through the centre of the field and total big chances conceded.
Green boxes suggest, in that specific gameweek, the opponent team have the worst record in that particular field.
Here, we can see DCL has three green fields when compared to others. Crystal Palace conceded the most chances through the centre whom Scamacca will face in GW15. Wilson is not far behind in this comparison. However, Southampton have been playing with a new wingback formation for the last two games, and they conceded the fewest crosses (10) through their left flank (where Trippier plays) just after Man City (8). Overall, the opponent’s weakness analysis backs Calvert-Lewin.

General Overview
Let’s look at some important factors that FPL managers should keep in mind.
Calvert-Lewin has only been starting for the last three games. So, this comparison’s last two features might not be relevant for him. We need to take a close look at the per90 stats for getting a clearer overview between the three. Although, an important factor is that we know for sure Wilson and Calvert-Lewin are the nailed penalty takers in their team but we don’t know if Scamacca is on the pens yet despite some suggesting he is.
Stats Analysis
We will see the comparison between Wilson and Scamacca first for the last six gameweeks. As Calvert-Lewin didn’t start all last six, I have excluded him in this comparison.
Here, Wilson is ahead of Scamacca by a good margin in most of the factors. Scamacca only had only one more goal attempt than Wilson in last six gameweeks.
Now, let’s look at a more important comparison. As Calvert-Lewin did not start as many games as the other two, only per90 stats might be relevant while comparing the three. That too has very little data size which means it could be volatile.
Here, Wilson wins the battle in most cases. However, Scamacca had more goal attempts per game than the other two. With regards to Calvert-Lewin’s bad outcome, again it is to keep in mind that he only started 3 in the last 6 games.

Visual Stats
In this section, we will take a look at each player’s touch heatmaps and goal attempts visually. All heatmaps are for the last six gameweeks. (taken from Fantasy Football Scout)
Callum Wilson
The touch heatmap suggests Wilson stayed up a lot. He’s got many touches in the opponent’s penalty box. Most of his shots are in the opp box too.
Scamacca
Scamacca did not have any shots from the six-yard box. He tends to shoot from outside the box as well unlike Callum Wilson. The touch heatmap also suggests he likes to come down to the midfield sometimes to support his teammates.
Calvert-Lewin
In his three games, DCL did not have most of his touches in the opponent’s penalty box. That is not the old DCL that we know though. This might change in the next two games easily.
Odds and Points Projection
Here, we will take a look at the anytime scoring chances and expected points in the coming weeks. (Points projection taken from Fantasy Football Hub)
Points projection says DCL will outscore both of them in the next two gameweeks. Scamacca is projected as the lowest scoring FWD among these three.

GW15 FPL Forwards Comparison- Conclusion
Wilson is certainly in fine form right now. It seems there is something special going on with this Newcastle team. It won’t be a surprise if he continues to perform brilliantly. But the fixtures are slightly better for the other two.
Are you the manager who likes to prioritize form or favor fixtures? Scamacca has two home games in his next two and he tends to do well in the home games. Is this the time when he finally starts shining for the Hammers?
Meanwhile, Calvert-Lewin is projected to score the most points according to models. He wins the difficulty rating too. Can he find his old form? You’ve got all the important data, decide for yourself. Thanks for reading!
Other options if you don’t like any of them
- Jesus (£8.0)
- Darwin (£8.9)
- Alvarez (£6.0) – If Haaland’s out
- Anthony Martial (£6.7)
- Dominic Solanke (£5.7)
