FPL GW27 Saturday Fixture Wise Review
SOUTHAMPTON v NORWICH
- A game dominated by the home team who are now on a 10-game unbeaten run
- Broja & Elyounoussi were the most advanced players for the Saints followed by one of the goal scorers – Che Adams
- Saints clocked their highest home xG of the season: 2.96
Southampton assets to be considered:
- Armando Broja (£5.4m)
- Mohamed Elyounoussi (£5.4m)
- Kyle-Walker Peters (£4.8m)
LEEDS V SPURS
- A game which has brought an end to Marcelo Bielsa’s stint at Leeds United which is unfortunate but something which was bound to happen
- 5th game in a row where the home team has conceded 3+ goals
- Tottenham, as expected, responded well after their shock loss to Burnley
- Kulusevski, yet again, was the most advance player for Spurs and did score his 2nd goal in as many games
- Kane has now returned 4x in his last 3 games
Spurs assets to be considered:
- Kane (£12.2m)
- Son (£10.8m)
- Kulusevski (£6m)
BRENTFORD v NEWCASTLE
- An early red card to Joshua Dasilva did give an advantage to the Magpies in a game which was crucial to both as far as relegation battle is concerned
- Ryan Fraser stole the show with an all-round display. He was also the most advanced player for Newcastle
- Joelinton keeps on improving under Eddie Howe by scoring his 2nd goal of the season with a thumping header
- Newcastle are now on a run of 4 wins out of last 5
- Brentford is plummeting towards the relegation zone by facing 7th loss in 8 games
- Toney played a 30 min cameo as a substitute
Newcastle’s assets to be considered:
- Ryan Fraser (£5.3m)
- Dan Burn (£4.4m)
CRYSTAL PALACE v BURNLEY
- A game with 16 shots in total with 8 of them taken from inside the box (6 by Palace & 2 by Burnley)
- Burnley was kept quiet by Palace in most departments. Home team was unfortunate to concede an own goal when Milivojevic deflected a cross from Lennon
- This was Clarets’ 4th draw in last 9 games
- Zaha looked sharp yet again and was unfortunate not to be on the scoring sheet as he he hit the woodwork once
- Olise was the man of the match with a scintillating display from the right side and was a never-ending menace for Burnley defenders
FPL assets to be considered from GW30 onwards:
- Olise (£5.4m)
- Zaha (£6.8m)
MANCHESTER UNITED v WATFORD
- United fans will be scratching their heads as to how the scoreline stayed at 0-0
- Bruno Fernandes on any other day would have pocketed a double return
- Elanga continues to impress and had his best game of the season so far. Should have been on the scoresheet with a goal or an assist
- This was United’s 4th draw in last 8 games
FPL assets to be considered from GW31 onwards:
- Bruno Fernandes (£11.7m)
- Jadon Sancho (£9m)
BRIGHTON v VILLA
- Another unexpected defensive display by Brighton who now have conceded 8 goals and scored none in the last 3
- This was the 3rd instance where their xG was <1 at home which was also third in a row
- AVL produced one of the better defensive displays at the back by keeping a clean sheet after 4 games
FPL assets to be considered:
- Ramsey (£4.8m)
- Coutinho (£7.2m)
