After a long-awaited deadline coming closer, it’s time to lock in our FPL teams for GW24. With a lot of doubles and blanks upcoming, in this blog, I will try and narrow down which are the best FPL premium assets to own over the next few weeks, taking into consideration their fixtures, stats, doubles, or games they have, which are yet to be rescheduled.

Fixtures between GW24 and GW30:
Here’s how the fixtures of some of the most popular premium players look like.
Gameweek | Salah | Kane | Ronaldo / Bruno | KDB |
GW 24 | LEI | SOU | bur | BRE |
GW 25 | bur | WOL | SOU + BHA | nor |
GW 26 | NOR + LEE | mci | lee | TOT |
GW 27 | NONE | lee | WAT | eve |
GW 28 | WHU | EVE | mci | MUN |
GW 29 | bha | mun | TOT | cry |
GW 30 | MUN | WHU | liv | BHA |
The fixtures from the above list, can be skewed based on the Double Gameweek 26. Liverpool have a really lucrative Double Gameweek 26, as they face Norwich and Leeds at home. Over the 6 weeks, Salah seems to be the clear option to own, although he blanks in GW27. The second premium to own would be one of the United boys. They also have a great double against Southampton and Brighton, both at home. KDB is not behind with Brentford and Norwich, back to back, in GW24 and 25 respectively. KDB faces Brentford and Norwich in GW24 and 25, making him an attractive option as well.
However, Liverpool have a packed schedule in February, and Salah’s return after AFCON might result in him missing out the easier fixtures, with the aim of playing him in the Champions League. Therefore, going without him, although sounds a lot risky, could be an option.

Fixtures yet to be rescheduled:
Salah | Kane | Ronaldo / Bruno | KDB |
ars | bha | None | None |
ARS |
Liverpool have one game in hand (Arsenal away), while Spurs have two games that are yet to be rescheduled (Brighton away and Arsenal home). Manchester United and Manchester City have postponed games. Therefore, Spurs should get two doubles before the end of the season. Having Kane/Son for the long run and planning for transfers to get them in, could also prove to be fruitful.
FPL Premium Player Stats:
Ronaldo | Bruno | KDB | Salah | Kane | |
Minutes Played | 430 | 389 | 515 | 270 | 514 |
xG/90 | 0.34 | 0.34 | 0.19 | 0.85 | 0.84 |
xA/90 | 0.12 | 0.39 | 0.37 | 0.16 | 0.39 |
Shots on Target/90 | 0.63 | 0.93 | 1.05 | 1.67 | 2.10 |
Big Chances/90 | 0.63 | 0.69 | 0.00 | 1.67 | 1.40 |
Big Chances Created/90 | 0.00 | 0.69 | 0.52 | 0.00 | 0.53 |
From the table above, the stats (GW18-GW23) Salah has the highest xG/90 of 0.85, with Kane just behind him at 0.84. In the expected assists per 90 stat, Bruno Fernandes and Kane share the first position at 0.39, followed by KDB at 0.37. Kane stands at top in terms of Shots on Target per 90, at 2.10, with Salah being at 1.67 and Kevin De Bruyne at 1.05. In terms of Big Chances per 90, Salah is at 1.67, and Kane at 1.40.
Unsurprisingly, Salah’s stats are one of the best out of the bunch, however, Kane is also up there with highest xA/90 and Shots on Target/90. Although, KDB is behind in terms of these stats, for the next few weeks, he might be the best option to own, then switching to Salah / Bruno could be a beneficial strategy here.

Rotation amongst Premiums FPL Assets:
In this section, I will try and cover different popular combinations of Premium players that managers might own currently, and how to plan ahead, with so many teams having doubles in different weeks. This will help you plan the basis of your transfers so that you can achieve the optimal rotation and captain the best player in that week.
Case 1 – Ronaldo & Bruno:
For managers, who currently own the United duo of Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes, the plan could be, keeping them till GW25 for their double against Southampton and Brighton and captaining one of them. For GW26, as they have a single gameweek, removing Bruno for Salah, and Ronaldo for Kane or Son (depending on the setup of your team) seems like good transfers for GW26.

Case 2 – Ronaldo & KDB:
For the owners of Ronaldo & KDB, keeping them both for GW24 is the obvious move, as KDB faces Brentford. For GW25, doubling up Ronaldo and Bruno both, by removing KDB for Bruno Fernandes could be one of the planned transfers for that week. As for GW26, removing Bruno for Salah for Liverpool’s double and trying to get in one of Son or Kane could help maximize points.

Case 3 – KDB & Bruno:
In this scenario, in my opinion, you wouldn’t need to make any changes for GW25, as along with Bruno’s double, KDB also have a great fixture against Norwich. As for Gameweek 26, the obvious move of Bruno to Salah makes a lot of sense. As for KDB, you can choose to keep him or remove him depending on his next two performances. Getting Son in for KDB in GW27, against Leeds, is an easy downgrade (price wise) to make.
Verdict:
Each team is in a different state, therefore the same strategy of switching the premiums can’t be followed. The rotation depends upon your team structure and the state of the rest of your team. So, taking all of that into consideration, trying to get mainly every premium for their double and captaining them could help you gain points over other managers.
