FPL DGW22 Players to Target | FPL Double Gameweek 22

FPL DGW22

Gameweek 22 poses a fantastic opportunity for managers to target players who play twice and can make all the difference on a free hit or bench boost chip, or for those looking to set themselves apart from the pack with a standout transfer.

PS: Leicester’s game vs Everton in DGW21 has just been postponed, which does create a potential risk that a further game in DGW22 for Leicester could also be postponed. Make sure you save your transfer/s until the deadline!

Before going further, Do vote in this week’s FPL GW22 allaboutfpl captaincy poll. The same will be available in the captaincy analysis and metrics blog written by@AK_FPL1. The metrics has an 18/21 record this year. Last week the metric predicted Bowen as the best captaincy candidate. Stay tuned for the GW22 Captaincy metric to see who tops it. Link to all our FPL Gameweek 22 blogs.

The results and the captaincy metric blog will be published soon based on the votes.

FPL Players to Target for FPL DGW22( Double Gameweek 22):

MIDFIELDERS

Ademola Lookman (£6.0m) – 0.5% TSB

FPL DGW22 Players to Target- Lookman

Lookman had a standout game for Leicester vs Watford in the FA Cup, bagging what would have been 3 FPL assists in the game. With Vardy injured for the month, Iheanacho at AFCON, and with Daka on standby for the same, Lookman as Leicester’s potential striker should be considered the key differential for DGW 22. With exception to Maddison, a key target for many managers this week, Lookman has the most amount of expected goal involvements per 90 (xGI/90) amongst all LEI players with more than 500 minutes in their 21/22 Premier League campaign so far.

Lucas Moura (£6.5m) – 4.6% TSB

FPL DGW22 Players to Target- Lucas Moura

With Heung-Min Son confirmed out for the rest of the month by Conte, Lucas Moura has enormous potential to be a GW22 gem as Tottenham faces Arsenal and a depleted Leicester team who rank bottom 5 in underlying defensive stats in the PL. Lucas Moura will be expected to lead the line alongside Harry Kane in both games due to Son’s absence. Despite his lesser minutes, Moura has still outperformed Kane this season so far, amassing 58 points compared to the latter’s 53, making him a great shout for the GW as he moves into a more advanced and permanent role.

Youri Tielemans (£6.4m) – 4.3% TSB

FPL DGW22 Players to Target- Tielemans

Although Tielemans does not play as high up in the field as a Maddison or Lookman, he still presents himself as a fantastic DGW 22 option as the leading Penalty taker for Leicester due to Vardy’s aforementioned injury. His incredible consistency in scoring effective chances from outside the box and his overall chance creation, which is backed up by him having the highest amount of expected assists (xA) amongst all available Leicester players makes him a tempting short-term option to go for, as we have seen this Leicester side be incredibly ruthless in their goalscoring against all levels of opposition.

FORWARDS

Neil Maupay (£6.5m) – 6.4% TSB

FPL DGW22 Players to Target- Maupay

In a week where people will be looking towards options such as Kane and Ronaldo, or one of the Watford forwards in Dennis & King, Maupay presents himself as an interesting 3rd Forward to go for as Brighton face off vs Crystal Palace and Chelsea. Within the last few weeks, we have seen a statistical decline in both their opponent’s defense, and Maupay still remains as Brighton’s central threat, scoring 3 and bagging 1 assist in his last 5 fixtures.

DEFENDERS

Matthew Lowton (£4.4m) – 1.9% TSB

FPL DGW22 Players to Target- Lowton

A legend of last year’s DGW, amassing 17 points overall, Lowton has another unique opportunity to become a key differential as we head into two essential games for Burnley as they are set to face Newcastle and Watford in GW22. Whilst Burnley haven’t been exceptional defensively this year, it’s Lowton’s ability to create in open play that excites managers as he faces the two WORST teams in the league in defense. So far in this campaign, Lowton has already amassed 1 goal and 3 assists, and it’s hard to see him going blank with this perfect double fixture run.

Marc Cucurella (£5.1m) – 2.8% TSB

FPL DGW22 Players to Target- Cucurella

Although Lamptey seems like an interesting option for players looking to capitalize on Brighton’s DGW fixtures, the biggest problem he poses is his lack of consistent minutes since his return from injury. Cucurella provides the exact opposite, as someone who has played the full 90 in every game since GW13. Despite 1 assist to his name so far, he has captured a significant amount of points due to his fantastic crossing ability, which has garnered him 13 bonus points this season, putting him in the top 8 amongst ALL players in FPL. This makes him both an appealing option for DGW22 and beyond as Brighton have great fixtures apart from one future blank gameweek.
