Best FPL GW22 Free Hit Team Ahead of FPL Gameweek 22 Deadline

FPL GW22 is a double game week with eight teams playing twice and this presents managers to use their free hit chip. In this blog we’ll take a look at a Free hit draft, we have also added multiple alternate drafts to help managers arrive at their best drafts.

Injury Update: This draft has been updated after the postponement of Leicester vs Burnley and also the potential postponement of Burnley vs Watford plus the uncertainties around the Spurs vs Arsenal game.

FPL GW22 Freehit draft

Kane plus Ronaldo draft

Ralf Rangnick confirmed in today’s press conference that Ronaldo should be fit for the game vs Aston Villa.

13/15 players are good options with a double united defence and Mount in the draft.

Kane plus Ronaldo plus Bruno draft

A bit of a gamble in this draft with Bruno, Ronaldo, and Kane all in along with a few decent single-game week option in Gray and Coufal. 3-4-3 Draft.

FPL GW22 Free hit goalkeepers

David De Gea is the best goalkeeping option in DGW22 with two decent games against Aston Villa and Brentford. Although Man United have been sloppy defensively which might put the chances of clean sheets in jeopardy, DDG has been busy making a lot of saves and the trend is set to continue. Since GW16 DDG has registered 19 saves bettered only Mesiler.

Alternate FPL GW22 Free hit goalkeeper option:

Sanchez(£4.6) plays Palace and Chelsea and could be a decent option if you’re looking to save funds.

FPL GW22 Free hit defenders

Trent Alexander Arnold is the only single-game week defender in our draft. He’s up against Brentford at home and could be in for a good haul. Emerson Royal plays Arsenal and Leicester in FPL GW22, Although the Arsenal game is a derby and the chances of a CS in a derby is low the Leicester game could be a good chance for Emerson Royual both defensive and attacking wise. PS: Regulion hasn’t trained for a week and was out of the squad in both the FA Cup and Carabao cup games.

Emerson Royal is 0.5 Million cheaper compared to Regulion and could pretty much do the same damage. He has made six key passes(Chances created) in the last two games, highest amongst defenders, and got two bonus points against Watford last week.

Marcos Alonso put in a good shift against Liverpool and even got an assist and two bonus points in the process. Alonso plays Man City and Brighton and follows the same trend of Regulion with one good and one tough fixture.

Lowton at 4.4 Million is a double game week legend from the past and Burnley plays Leicester and Newcastle which are still decent for points potential. Lamptey is a Brighton defensive option who is strong going forward and troubled Reece James the last time they played Chelsea and he could prove a tough problem for the Chelsea backline once again. Cucurella is an expensive alternative who has also been amongst the attacking returns recently having got an assist against Chelsea in GW20, whom they play again in FPL DGW22.

Alternate FPL GW22 Free hit defensive option:

Luke Thomas(£4.3) could be another option from the Leicester defence, he has played all games since GW13 and could be nailed to play both games. Veltman from Brighton as well could be a good option if you don’t want to spend more money on Cucurella or worried about Lamptey being benched.

FPL GW22 Free hit Midfielders

Diogo Jota and Bowen are the single game week player in this FPL DGW22 draft. Now that Salah and Mane are not available as they’re away at AFCON, Jota holds the key for Liverpool scoring goals. Bowen is in sintillating form and is essentially a must own against a Leeds side struggling with injuries.

Maddison (£6.9) is a great double gameweek option, the Leicester city attacker has been consistently delivering returns over the last few games. During the period(GW13-GW20) Maddison had scored four goals and five assists making him the highest-scoring midfielder during the period in spite of playing only six games instead of eight due to covid postponements. Two games against Burnley and Spurs should see the run of returns continue.

The fourth midfielder spot is the area where we have gone with Mount. Chelsea have some decent form heading into the double gameweek and Mount could be a very good Choice, he got the assist as well in the EFL Cup second round against Spurs as well. Brownhill makes for the last midfield spot at 4.3 Million to make up for the budget.

Alternate FPL GW22 Free hit midfielder options:

Lookman, Tielemans(£6.4) could be alternate options to Maddison from the Leicester attack. Tielemans could also be on penalties if Vardy isn’t fit. Trossard is a good choice from the Brighton attack and at 6.1 Million he could be a good option. Moura, Sancho could also be cheaper entries from the big teams if anyone is willing to take the punt on them.

FPL GW22 Free hit forwards

The forward line fairly template with Kane and Ronaldo. Although Man United haven’t been in a good run of form, Ignoring Ronaldo on a free hit draft doesn’t make sense. Similarly, Spurs are missing Son and the onus will be on kane to deliver.

The last player in our free hit draft is Dennis who is now not going to AFCON, Dennis is the highest-scoring forward this season and two good games against Newcastle and Burnley who are two of the worst defences in the PL this season means it could be the further returns for the Watford striker.

Alternate FPL GW22 free hit forward options

King is 0.3 million cheaper than Dennis and has better numbers than him with penalties as a bonus. In case anyone wants to go over Dennis then his strike partner could be a direct switch. Lukaku can take up the Ronaldo spot but has one tough game vs Man City. Maupay too could be a decent punt. DCL is a single gameweek option but that fixture against Norwich is tempting as they’re woeful.

Points to keep in mind from this FPL DGW22 Freehit draft

• Three single gameweek players as it’s a stretch to load the entire 11 with double gameweek players
• Bowen + Jota essential even thought they are single gameweek options.
• The draft has 14 options, you could however make it 13/12 options to strenghthen the third/fourth midfielder spot which is now held by Maddison and Trossard.

The below draft has no Bruno and an upgraded defence. This is in case you feel Bruno plus Ronaldo is too much considering the fact that Man United are not playing so well as a unit right now. Once again you’ll have 13/15 starters. Draft also has one Chelsea attacker, Spurs attacker, Two Leicester attackers.
