FPL GW 19 Player Comparisons
Kane(12.1m) Vs Son(10.3m)
With Spurs returning from the covid concerns, their players come back in contention. Son and Kane seems like an ever going debate. However, let’s try to ascertain, who is going to be better asset over the next few gameweeks on the basis os stats so far, and eye test.
Kane Vs Son: The Stats
Kane | Son | |
Goals | 2 | 7 |
Fantasy Assists / Assists | 3 / 2 | 1 / 1 |
npxG per 90 | 0.42 | 0.4 |
xA per 90 | 0.30 | 0.16 |
npxG + xA per 90 | 0.72 | 0.56 |
Shots / Shots on Target | 38 / 16 | 33 / 14 |
Key Passes (per 90) | 0.91 | 1.83 |
% Goal Involvement | 18% | 56% |
Son, so far has been unreal. He has scored 7 goals in 14 matches, while Kane just has two, making Son’s % Goal Involvement much higher, at 56%. In the season stats, Kane slightly betters Son, in some aspects. However, Son has a high conversion rate and seems like he can keep that up, so saving about 2m, does make sense in this scenario.

Kane Vs Son: The Verdict:
Spurs have a great few fixtures ahead, and with Liverpool’s game getting called off, Son could be popular transfer. Kane has been under whelming this season, and Son betters or almost equals him in most of the stats. Also, Son looks more lively and exciting to watch as well, as compared to Kane, making him the better option out of the two.
Saka(6.3m) Vs Odegaard(5.6m) Vs Martinelli(5.3m) Vs ESR(6.1m)
The emergence of Arsenal Mids have provided plethora of options to fill that spot. In this budget bracket, they provide excellent value. With ESR getting lesser minutes, and the other 3 starting the past 2 games, let’s try to narrow down to who the best option could be out of these options.
Saka Vs Odegaard Vs Martinelli Vs ESR: The Stats
Saka | Odegaard | Martinelli | ESR
Goals | 3 | 4 | 4 | 7 |
Fantasy Assists / Assists | 5 / 4 | 1 / 1 | 3 / 2 | 2 / 2 |
npxG / 90 | 0.29 | 0.12 | 0.41 | 0.26 |
xA / 90 | 0.28 | 0.25 | 0.26 | 0.19 |
npxG + xA / 90 | 0.57 | 0.37 | 0.67 | 0.45 |
Shots / Shots on Target | 38 / 11 | 16 / 8 | 16 / 5 | 24 / 15 |
Key Passes / 90 | 2.04 | 2.36 | 2.36 | 1.53 |
% Goal Involvement | 30% | 19% | 35% | 39% |
Based on the underlying stats, Matinelli is ahead of other three. ESR has scored the most goals this season, at 7, and has the highest goal involvement (39%). Saka takes a high volume of shots, however, ESR has the most shots on target.

Saka Vs Odegaard vs Martinelli Vs ESR: The Verdict
Among the Arsenal midfielders, Martinelli, in the current form, appears to be the best options. ESR has not been getting a lot of minutes recently, making him a bit unattractive. Odegaard has emerged as a great option as well, bringing a lot of creative force to the Arsenal team. Martinelli, currently is the best pick out of the bunch.

Lacazette Vs Watkins Vs King: Who to remove for Ronaldo?
One of the popular transfers this week is to somehow fit Ronaldo in our teams. To get him, managers are willing to sacrifice any of the forwards. Out of these three, Laca, Watkins and King, lets see who should be removed to get to Ronaldo (who has the worst stats and fixtures out of these three).
Laca Vs Watkins Vs King: The Stats
Lacazette | Watkins | King
Goals | 2 | 5 | 5 |
Fantasy Assists / Assists | 2 / 2 | 2 / 1 | 3 / 2 |
npxG / 90 | 0.3 | 0.4 | 0.41 |
xA / 90 | 0.22 | 0.14 | 0.25 |
npxG + xA / 90 | 0.52 | 0.54 | 0.66 |
Shots / Shots on Target | 11 / 9 | 33 / 16 | 29 / 11 |
Key Passes / 90 | 1.53 | 1.13 | 1.57 |
% Goal Involvement | 18% | 37% | 44% |
Based on underlying stats, Laca is worse off than the other two, sligtly. However, King doesn’t have a fixture next week and Watkins will face Chelsea, whil Laca is going to play the leaky Norwich defence. Laca has the lowest goal involvement as there are a lot of diverse goal scorers in the Arsenal team.

Arsenal Vs Aston Villa Vs Watford: Stats
Arsenal | Aston Villa | Watford
Goals | 27 | 23 | 21 |
npxG | 27.2 | 17.7 | 19.1 |
npxG / 90 | 1.5 | 1 | 1.2 |
Chances Created | 21 | 16 | 21 |
Goal Attempts | 267 | 191 | 181 |
Shots on Target | 96 | 60 | 64 |
Upcoming Fixtures:
Arsenal | Aston Villa | Watford
GW19 | NOR | CHE | – |
GW20 | WOL | LEE | WHU |
GW21 | MCI | BRE | TOT |
GW22 | TOT | MUN | NEW |
GW23 | BUR | EVE | NOR |
GW24 | WOL | LEE | WHU |
The Verdict:
For Ronaldo, Watkins or King seems to be the better options than Arsenal as they still have a few good fixtures remaining. With King, he is going to miss the next gameweek, and since getting a full XI is difficult right now, it makes sense to remove King, if possible. Otherwise, out of Laca and Watkins, Laca seems to be good for the short run period.
