FPL GW15 Top Transfer Ins And Outs | Transfer Trends & Combinations

Welcome to FPL GW15 Transfer Trends! This is a weekly series where we take a bit of time to analyze some of the major transfer trends on FPL prior to the deadline.

The quick turnaround of GW14 meant that managers had to be quick on their toes should they have wanted to get a new transfer in. Majority of managers opted to hold their free transfers. A lot of FPL in the busy holiday season!

This week, we can see the transfer trends show people buying players from Liverpool, Watford, Chelsea, Man City, and Leeds. The top 5 transfers OUT come from West Ham United, Wolves, Chelsea, and Crystal Palace.

Before going further, Do vote in this week’s FPL GW15 allaboutfpl captaincy poll. The same will be available in the captaincy analysis and metrics blog written by@AK_FPL1. The metrics has a 13/14 record this year. Last week the metric predicted Salah as the best captaincy candidate and he returned once again in GW14. Stay tuned for the GW10 Captaincy metric to see who tops it. Link to all our FPL Gameweek 15 blogs.

The results and the captaincy metric blog will be published soon based on the votes.

FPL Transfers Gameweek 15 Deadline

Saturday 4th December 2021 at 11:00 AM BST

We will take a look at the players that managers are rushing to get in their teams, as well as the players managers are booting out. Then, we will dive into three main transfer combinations that could be decent moves to make ahead of the upcoming gameweek.

RECAP of GW13 TRANSFER TRENDS

Antonio (1 point) to Jimenez (2 points) ❌

Benrahma (3 points) to Smith Rowe ( points)

Dias (9 points) to Alexander-Arnold (2 points) ❌

Some relatively stinky picks from GW13 😥 But, as always, we move onto GW15.

Top Transfers Ins and Outs Ahead of FPL GW15

FPL GW15 Transfer Trends ~ Most transferred in and transferred out players

Antonio returns to the top of the top transfers out after a lack of returns in the last few gameweeks, with 657k managers seeking other forward options. Wolves striker Hwang makes it to 2nd place (452k) on the top transfer out list this gameweek, after several blanks in a row.

Despite being one of the hottest prospects in the last few gameweeks, Reece James’ doubt puts him at third with 444k managers transferring the Chelsea wingback out. Gallagher sees 427k managers transfer him out, and Benrahma sits at 5th place for most transfers out, with 420k managers opting for another midfield option.

On the flip side, Jota has impressed many managers after returning in the third gameweek in a row, another 102k managers bringing him in. Watford striker Dennis sees 966k managers transfer him in after his impressive performances.

City assets of Bernardo Silva (618k) and Cancelo (320k) make their spots on the top transfers in as City approach a favourable run of fixtures. And, finally, Leeds midfielder Raphinha sees 318k managers bring him in after his goal against Palace.

The 3 transfer combinations we will be focusing on are: Mbeumo to Bernardo Silva, Gallagher to Jota, and Duffy to Cancelo.

Top Three FPL GW15 Transfer Trends Combinations

FPL GW15 Transfer Combination 1:

Bryan Mbeumo (£5.5) to Bernardo Silva (£7.3) ~ FPL GW15 Transfer trend

Bryan Mbeumo (£5.5) to Bernardo Silva (£7.3)

City's fixtures from GW15-21
City’s fixtures from GW15-21

Brentford midfielder Mbeumo’s consistent run of blanks despite the favorable fixtures has opted for owners to sell him, 6.5% of managers so far making the swap to City midfielder Bernardo Silva.

Silva has scored 5 goals and 2 assists in the last 7 games, playing the false 9 role in a couple of those occasions. Given City’s favorable fixture run for the long term, he is a great pick in the City attack to target.

Statistically, he is first among all city midfielders for big chances (7), 1st for shots on target (11), 2nd for shots in the box (15), and an xG of 4.10 (1st).

He would be my pick from the City attack to target the good fixtures City have for the long-run.

Who do Man City face in GW15?

City play Watford away in GW15. Watford are 2nd worst for shots on target conceded (67), and 2nd worst for big chances conceded (33). Watford have also kept 0 clean sheets so far this season.

Historically, matchups between City and Watford usually result in a lot of goals conceded by Watford. Should fare well for Bernardo Silva and City.

FPL GW15 Transfer Combination 2:

Conor Gallagher (£6.2) to Diogo Jota (£7.9)

Conor Gallagher (£6.2) to Diogo Jota (£7.9) ~ FPL GW15 transfer trends
Liverpool's fixtures from GW15-21
Liverpool’s fixtures from GW15-21

Despite Gallagher’s stellar performances in GWs10-11, he has provided a somewhat lack-luster performance in the subsequent gameweeks. This has prompted 13.4% of managers to make the switch to arguably the standout midfield option at the moment: Liverpool’s Diogo Jota.

The announcement of Firmino’s injury saw Jota return to his false 9 role, and, since returning, he has returned in 3 of the last games in a row. He has scored 4 goals in the last 3 games, scoring a total of 30 points in the last 3 gameweeks alone!

Jota is playing for one of the best attacks in the league right now. Liverpool are first among all teams for most shots taken, shots on target, shots in the box, big chances, non-penalty xG, and xG.

Individually, from GWs 11-14, Jota is first among all midfielders for most shots in the box (13), big chances (6), xG (2.70), and expected goal involvement (3.7). He is a statistical beast, and it’s good to see those stats convert to returns during his stint so far.

Who do Liverpool face in GW15?

Liverpool play Wolves away in GW13. Wolves have conceded 44% of their chances down the middle. While not the worst defensively in the league, Liverpool’s red-hot attacking form will cause issues against the Wolverhampton defense.

Liverpool’s fixtures for the long-term are great, and, as Salah and Mane leave for AFCON, managers will want to get Jota soon as he will be the primary pick from the Liverpool attack during that time.

Newcastle have conceded the most goals so far among all teams (27).

FPL GW15 Transfer Combination 3:

Shane Duffy (£4.2) to Joao Cancelo (£6.7)

Shane Duffy (£4.2) to Joao Cancelo (£6.7) ~ FPL transfer trends gw15
Man City's fixtures from GW15-21
Man City’s fixtures from GW15-21

After his 6th consecutive blank this season, Duffy sees 17.6% of managers swap him out for premium defender Joao Cancelo.

With the trend seeing managers switch to “big at the back”, Cancelo is one of the main names given his attacking potential as well as playing for one of the best defensive teams in the league: Manchester City.

City have conceded the least amount of shots, shots in the box, shots on target, and big chances among all teams. They are also joint 1st for most clean sheets kept this season (8).

Attacking-wise, Cancelo leads among all defenders for most shots taken (31), shots on target (11), and xG (2.57). Despite Pep Roulette, Cancelo is one of City’s more nailed players (despite being a fullback), having started all games this season so far. He is the standout pick from the City defense.

Who do Man City face in GW15?

City play Watford away in GW15. As mentioned before, Watford are 2nd worst for shots on target conceded (67), and 2nd worst for big chances conceded (33). Watford have also kept 0 clean sheets so far this season.

The attacking threat Cancelo offers as a defender is what we’re expecting to bring us points, while the clean sheet would just be a bonus. However, given City’s recent form of defensive stability, we can expect a good set of returns from Cancelo against Watford.

That has been 3 potential transfer combinations that FPL managers could consider prior to the Gameweek 15 deadline. Hope this blog provided a bit of insight on viable FPL moves you could take!
