The Premier League is all set for some new action this weekend after an International Break during which many notable changes took place among the club managers. In this blog, we will be discussing about some of the possible forwards going into FPL gameweek 12, so without much delay, let’s jump into our topic.

Before going further, Do vote in this week’s FPL GW12 allaboutfpl captaincy poll. The same will be available in the captaincy analysis and metrics blog written by@AK_FPL1. The metrics has a 10/11 record this year. Last week the metric predicted Salah as the best captaincy candidate and he returned once again in GW11. FPL Gameweek 12 Forwards Analysis

Michail Antonio (£8.2)

Michail Antonio stats from FPL GW6 to FPL GW11
Stats from GW 6 to GW 11

He had a rare two gameweek blank but he is about to bounce back once again, he looked threatening in both the games in which he blanked, he already scored 6 goals and 4 assist from just 11 games which is absolutely sensational. The performance of West Ham United is heavily dependent on his form. He currently has an ownership of 47.8% which is the most among the forwards. Although there is a bit of concern with his goal involvement from GW 6 which is just 43%, ranked 6th among the forwards.

Let’s take a look at West Ham’s Fixtures:

There is no FPL Forward who is as nailed as Michail Antonio is, Wolves playing with high like will certainly open up scopes for Antonio to bag some crucial FPL points, even with City if West Ham desires to win, Antonio has to do something which is why he’s a very very crucial player for the Hammers this season.

Moving onto our next FPL Asset, we have……

Gabriel Jesus (£8.7)

Gabriel Jesus best FPL forwards ahead of FPL GW12

Stats from GW 6 to GW 11

With the lack of any proper center forward, Gabriel Jesus is the only out and out forward option for Pep’s Manchester City with Ferran Torres out with an expected return on 1st January. Jesus scored 2 goals and 5 assists from 9 starts this season. He currently has an ownership of 10% and can be a real rank booster in the next few game weeks. He has almost booked his place in the team as a starter and there is no doubt about it.

Manchester City’s Fixtures:

Manchester City's fixtures

The only red against West Ham is a tricky one but it is not actually a red, there will be chances at both the ends, the game against Everton is a easy one with the defensive flaws in Everton’s backline. If you remember the last game of 20/21 campaign, Everton suffered a 5-0 defeat against City at Etihad Stadium. So there will be a lot of chances for Jesus to get to the end of crosses from the full backs and convert it into a goal.

Chances conceded down the center from GW 6 to GW 11:

  • GW 12 –> EVE(H) – 9th
  • GW 13 –> WHU(H) – 18th
  • GW 14 –> AVL(A) – 1st
  • GW 15 –> WAT(A) – 13th
  • GW 16 –> WOL(H) – 7th
  • GW 17 –> LEE(H) – 2nd
  • GW 18 –> NEW(A) – 5th
  • GW 19 –> LEI(H) – 8th
  • GW 20 –> BRE(A) – 14th

Moving onto our 3rd FPL Asset…..

Jamie Vardy (£10.8)

Jamie Vardy best FPL forwards ahead of FPL GW12
Jamie Vardy stats from FPL GW6 to FPL GW11
Stat from GW 6 to GW 11

Leicester City’s no. 9, Jamie Vardy, is one of the most nailed FPL forward asset in the campaign, started the season brilliantly, was overlooked in the beginning due to the presence of Ronaldo and Lukaku but now he almost has an ownership of 29.9%, he scored 7 goals and 1 assist already in just 11 games with Leicester City’s not so good start to the campaign, currently ranked 12th in the points table. Although, he blanked from GW 9 but he got an all important International Break to get some rest, he also suffered injury before GW 9, there is more to come from him in this season and Leicester’s position in the points table depends highly on him.

Leicester City’s Fixtures:

After the Chelsea game there are some easy and average fixtures till Manchester City but there is a feeling that there will be openings for Vardy and Leicester’s win/loss will be highly dependent on him and his form. Vardy is a guy who likes to perform under pressure, we’ve seen this over the years, the last season was not so good for him yet he score 187 FPL points, 3rd most after 211 in the 15/16 season and 210 in the 19/20 season, he already scored 60 points in 11 games which is a very good sign.

Harry Kane (£12.2)

Harry Kane is having a poor start to the season with literally no stability in Tottenham’s managers, recently Antonio Conte replaced Nuno Espirito Santo to become the new Spurs manager. Kane scored 1 goal having an xG of 2.17 and assisting 1 goal with an xA of 1.74 which is a very poor in regards to his standards although the xG’s and xA’s tell us a different story. Currently having an ownership of 7.9% FPL Managers, he’s a differential at the moment.

Tottenham Hotspur’s Fixture:

That is a wonderful fixture list and it would be really discouraging if you miss out on a Spurs asset with the likes of Kane/Son who would really like to fix their start to the season. Kane recently scored back to back hattricks for England National Football Team, yes there are a lot of creator in that England side and he can stay always up at the top but when he plays for Spurs he’ll have an additional role of a false 9 and creating chances for his fellow teammates. The good news is that Conte plays a lot more attacking football with respect to Nuno. Kane is also becomes a captaincy option with Leeds defense ranked 16th having conceded 18 goals already.

Other FPL forwards to consider ahead of FPL GW12

Aston Villa’s Watkins (£7.3) has recently caught our eyes with 2 goals and 1 assist from 8 starts and is own by only 2.3% of FPL Managers but after Dean Smith getting sacked and Steven Gerrard becoming the new manager of Aston Villa, he suddenly becomes a very important player in the squad, Gerrard would like to get some results early on. He mostly plays a possession-based football with a standard 4-3-3 system, occasionally a 4-2-3-1 system with full-backs pressing higher up the field similar to Liverpool. Ranger’s wingers operated similar to Liverpool’s. So, Leon Bailey (£6.4) and Emi Buendía (£6.2) will be looked at very closely in the next couple of game weeks.

Aston Villa’s Fixture:

In conclusion, Watkins (£7.3) and Matthew Cash (£5.1) becomes very good fantasy options in the next couple of fixture before they face Manchester City(H) which will be a difficult fixture, and then after the Leicester City game, they face Liverpool at Anfield which again will be a huge challenge.

Another notable forward FPL Asset is Wolves’ Hwang Hee-Chan (£5.8) who has given a thrust to Wolves attack scoring 4 goals in just 6 starts with an xG of 2.01, he created 4 big chances since GW 4 (3rd rank). Currently, he has an ownership of 12.7% which already justifies his value.

Wolves’ Fixtures:

Wolves' fixtures

This Wolves team is very attacking-minded under Bruno Lage so even though there are some red fixture alerts but there will be enough chances for him to score goals.

With Eddie Howe’s new job as Newcastle’s manager, Callum Wilson (£7.3) who has already scored 4 goals from just 7 games with an xG of 0.96 is worth having some attention. During the 18/19 season with Bournemouth under Eddie Howe, Callum Wilson managed to score 14 goals and 12 assists despite being injured in the middle of the season. The popular Fraser-Wilson partnership during those days are worth mentioning as both of them are present in this current Newcastle squad. He’s currently owned by only 2.2% of FPL Managers as a result he can be a real good differential.

Newcastle’s Fixtures:

Newcastle's fixtures

This is a very good time to take Wilson and play these green-labeled fixtures. Wilson is key for the Newcastle attack and I could definitely see him getting involved in goals during this fixture run. This move might boost the rank heavily and if he remains injury-free this season there will be many making moves on Wilson without further delay.
