GW4 Review
It was a Gameweek to remember, as the icon, Ronaldo (£12.5) made his second debut in front of the Old Trafford fans, netting twice and racking up 26 points as my Captain. In other events, The standout performances came from the Liverpool boys who thrashed Leeds where Trent Alexander-Arnold came out with 12 points. Livramento, my budget defender, getting a clean sheet against West Ham who have been rampant in attack was surprising, but pleasant to say the least.
FPL Gameweek 5 Transfer Plans and Watchlist
The late red card that Antonio faced gave us a problem going into Gameweek 5 as we had to contemplate ways to replace him albeit by transferring out or benching him for a week. As for my options, Bamford was right on top of my list. News that his hamstring was pinging took the community by storm and left us in doubt, however, since Bielsa clarified that he had no problems, I am convinced that I will be bringing him in this week.
Tips for FPL GW5 to climb up ranks
This week has been one that has narrowed down the options of budget attackers given the likes of DCL and Antonio have been ruled out of this gameweek. The premium attackers like Ronaldo and Lukaku will be the ones to target in the coming weeks and the only tip that I would give to anyone Wildcarding or making multiple transfers this week is to try and accommodate both of them or develop a clear route that would allow you to bring them in, in the near future.
FPL GW5 Team + Captaincy
This is how I will be lining up for Gameweek 5. As we covered previously, I have made the move from Antonio to Bamford ahead of his visit to Newcastle who looked frail in defence last week. The upcoming fixtures for Leeds look extremely appealing as according to the FPL Fixture Difficulty Ratings, 5 out of their next 6 fixtures are rated 2 (Easy).
Captaincy this week is another toss up. However, I am leaning towards putting the armband on Ronaldo as I feel he will be going into the encounter drenched in desire to bounce back from the midweek capitulation. Besides that, Man Utd are going to a West Ham side without their most potent outlet, Antonio which gives me an inkling that they will struggle to counter Man Utd’s constant attacks given that they will not have a natural outlet to diffuse the pressure.

FPL GW4 Review
GW4 was below average for me, having scored only 60(-4) points. I had to stick with Bruno as Son was injured and had to take him out. That meant I did not have Ronaldo and got a big red arrow essentially because of that.
FPL GW5 Plan
My team looks to be on the brink but trying to wait for a couple of more weeks before unleashing the wildcard. I tried to make a draft of a wildcard team but I don’t feel I can be aggressive with the kind of fixtures and forms some of the players/teams are showing. Current plan is to ride out till GW6 or possibly GW7 but am keeping it flexible. One of the reasons not to WC this week was the Antonio suspension. I wouldn’t have kept Antonio on the WC but I do like him for the Leeds game next GW hence have opted to bench him and hoping I get lucky with some Ayling points vs Newcastle.
FPL GW5 Team Reveal
Toney dropping and CR7 rising meant I did the early transfers this week in which I sold Bruno and Toney to get Sarr and CR7. Villa and Everton home games coming up for United and I believe CR7 will score more points than Bruno over the next 3 GWs. Watford aren’t playing that well but next 3 fixtures are do or die for them and banking on Sarr to give some talismanic performances.
United playing west ham away definitely doesn’t sound like a high scoring game. As a result, captaincy almost certainly is going to Salah who is looking confident as ever and Liverpool as a team putting in great attacking numbers.
FPL GW5 Tips
As a differential, I believe City vs Southampton game can be targeted this GW for captaincy and transfers. The likes of Jesus, Torres, Cancelo look to be high upside picks if you are willing to take slight risk which is involved in the most city assets.

FPL GW4 Review
GW4 was crazy. I decided to pull the trigger on my wildcard as I had multiple changes I wanted to make. At the end of the gameweek, I had 81 points and was very happy. Getting all 3 of Lukaku, Salah and Ronaldo worked well as all three scored impressively. Semedo, White, and Sanchez all keeping clean sheets was nice. Shaw and Gray also getting attacking returns rounded off a brilliant week. Going without Trent was always a big risk, and his haul was tough to take but I cannot complain with a brilliant gameweek score, raising me up to the top 50k, even with the Antonio red card.
FPL GW5 Plan
When playing a wildcard, I always plan to roll the transfer the week after. The Antonio red card put a spanner in the works, but I think that I will just bench him. I want to have two transfers in the bank for gameweek 6, so I plan to hold it this week.
FPL GW5 Team Reveal
As mentioned before, I don’t plan to use a transfer. Therefore, I will remain with Sanchez in goal, Shaw, Semedo, White, and Williams in defense, coming in for his nice fixture against Watford. Salah, Gray, Jota, and Torres are my midfield. The two heavy hitters, Ronaldo and Lukaku, are my front line. Captaincy is a tough one this week, I think Salah, Lukaku, and Ronaldo are all good options. Many will go for Salah, but I really like how the Palace defence has been playing. My captaincy decision will go down to the wire, but it will go to Salah, Lukaku, or Ronaldo.
FPL GW5 Tips
It has got to the stage of the season where injuries and suspensions are around. The likes of DCL, Wilson, Antonio, Xhaka, Struijk, and Tanganga are all unavailable. Therefore, it is ok to use transfers to replace these players. But before making rash decisions, study the data and make good decisions. Also, during a European midweek there can be even more injuries, so, try and hold your transfers until after all the European fixtures are concluded. Good luck everyone in gameweek 5!

GW4 Review:
GW4 was another frustrating Gameweek for me. I scored 62 points which did give me a green arrow from 982k > 911k. However, I debated bringing Ronaldo in for a hit all week, like most and went last minute with DCL instead. This has massively backfired and my transfer for Gameweek 5 is to now take him out. Ah well, not going to dwell on much here. The score was ok and I’m just moving on.
Players to monitor for me:
With my GW5 transfer, a lot of forward options get removed here. I’m still looking to monitor Chelsea and in particular James’ minutes and Lukaku. They are likely going to be my 2 transfers in GW7 if I can make it possible. Also Raphinha as he might get in for Bruno to help find Lukaku.
FPL GW5 Transfer plan/ watch list going forwards:
I have to take out DCL in order to field 11 players. So I’m taking out DCL, for a fantasy player that I don’t actually remember owning in the past. Jaime Vardy. Everyone is talking about Jiménez or Bamford as their DCL replacement but I’m going to go a little further out here. DCL was supposed to just fill the forward position until GW7 for Lukaku, but now Vardy will do this. Leicester’s next2 games are BRI(A) and BUR(H) and I like the chances of Vardy scoring in both.
FPL GW5 tips 👀
Try and stay patient. I’m really struggling to do so after what feels like an awful start to the season. I’ve already made some silly mistakes but I’m looking ahead. Don’t get drawn into an early wildcard if your team doesn’t need it. Honestly, if you can fix it with a -8 then it’s worth saving the wildcard. Try not to chase points too and look at the players you want in through the lens that works for you.
FPL GW5 Team:
I’m honestly not a huge fan of my team this week. I may also start Amartey over Coufal but I’m not sure on his starting position. A forced 4-5-1 with Antonio’s suspension. Vardy comes in for DCL. I don’t really like having Vardy vs my goalkeeper but I’ve just got to try and push through this next Gameweek. I have 6 players all in the United vs West Ham game so I’m almost already expecting a red arrow. Salah captain vs Palace seems like the obvious choice this week and I’m sure hue EO will be about 150/160% anyhow.
