We’ve just hit the halfway point of TGW35 and already our thoughts have moved to next week. GW36 sees the last blank game week of the season. After 3 games in TGW35, Man United are one of four teams to blank. Chelsea, Leicester, and Arsenal the remaining three who make up BGW36.

In this article, we look at the top 3 transfer trends ahead of the BGW. Unsurprisingly, we can see the transfer trends show people selling players from BGW teams. Three of the top 5 transfers OUT come from Leicester and Man United, with Aston Villa and Brighton closing out the Top 5. As for transfers IN, Leeds, Spurs, Everton and West Ham make up the Top 5.

We’ve only just hit the half way point of TGW35, so as always, wait until as close as possible before the deadline to make your transfer.

FPL Transfers Gameweek 36 Deadline – Friday 14th April at 18:30 BST

This Transfer Trends series focuses on analyzing the top 3 transfer combinations within the topmost transferred IN and OUT players.

BGW players dominate the top 5 transfers OUT this week. 70k managers have sold Iheanacho – the most transferred out player so far. 55k have sold Fernandes – the most transferred OUT MID so far, with another 52k selling Vardy.

Ollie Watkins is 2nd with 55.5k sells. Is this down to his sending off? Likewise Lewis Dunk makes up the last spot in the Top 5 transfers OUT for his sending off. 41k managers have sold Dunk so far.

Last week’s most sold player, Bamford, is this week’s most bought. 63k managers have bought the Leeds forward so far. His teammate Stuart Dallas comes in 2nd on the list. 61k managers have bought the Leeds man, with a further 54k buying Spurs maestro Son

Dominic Calvert Lewin is the 4th most bought player this week with 45k manager’s buying the Everton man so far. West Ham striker Michail Antonio finishes off the Top 5 with 34k buys so far.

The 3 transfer combinations we’re focusing on are; Iheanacho to Bamford, Watkins to Calvert-Lewin and Castagne to Dallas.

Top Three FPL BGW36 Transfer combinations

Combination 1: Iheanacho To Bamford

FPL BGW36 Transfer Trend ~ 61.3% of Bamford buyers have come from Iheanacho
61.3% of Bamford buyers have come from Iheanacho🔥
First up, the combination that features the most transferred in player, Patrick Bamford. The most transferred in player, meets the most transferred out. 61.3% of Bamford buyers have made the move from Iheanacho this week.

Over the last 6 weeks, Bamford ranks 16th for points scored by a FWD with 19points from 1 goal and 1 assist. This return is 26points behind Iheanacho’s 45 points, who is the 2nd highest points scorer by a FWD. Chris Wood is the highest with 49points.

Bamford 16th highest scoring FWD (GW30-35)

Bamford’s underlying stats within this timeframe doesn’t set the world alight either. He comes in 19th for Shots (9) and Shots on Target (4), and 14th for Shots in the Box (9). When looking at his Big Chances however, he shoots up into joint 3rd with 5. He’s getting himself into positions where he’s getting big chances, averaging 0.83 per match.

Along with getting himself into positions for big chances, he’s also creating for his teammates. In the 6 week timeframe between GW30-35, he ranks 3rd for Key Passes amongst FWDs with 8. Iheanacho tops this area with 11.

Given the current form of Iheanacho, the transfer to Bamford is down to Leicester blanking in GW36. Leeds do have 3 good remaining fixtures on paper, starting with a trip to Burnley in GW36. They then face Southampton away in GW37, before finishing the season at home to newly relegated West Brom.

Leicester face a trip to Chelsea in GW37, before finishing the season at home to Spurs in GW38. With a blank in GW36 and a tricky trip to Chelsea in GW37, maybe the move to Bamford is a shrewd one after all.

Combination 2: Watkins To Calvert-Lewin

FPL BGW36 Transfer Trend ~ 28% of Watkins sellers moving to Calvert-Lewin

The second combination we’re focusing on is Watkins to Calvert-Lewin. The transfer trends show 28% of Watkins sellers have moved to Calvert-Lewin so far. In their 2nd match of TGW35, Everton take on Aston Villa at Villa Park.

Unfortunately for Watkins, he won’t feature due to suspension. As he received 2 yellows, he only serves a one match ban and is available for BGW36 though. 55.5k managers might not realise this.

Calvert-Lewin is in good form lately though. In his last 3matches (GW33-35), he has scored twice for a 19point return. He comes in 10th for Shots (7), joint 9th for Shots on Target (3), and 8th for Shots in the Box (6). Just like Bamford, when looking at his Big Chances, he shoots up into joint 3rd with 3. His expected xGI in this timeframe is 80% – top for FWDs who played all three games.

Who do Everton face in BGW36?

Everton are at home to Sheffield United in BGW36. The already relegated Sheffield United have shown their defensive weakness of late. In the past 6 matches (GW30-35) they rank 4th for Shots Conceded (105), 2nd Shots Conceded in the Box (68) and 2nd for Shots on Target Conceded (41).

The defensive weakness doesn’t stop there. Sheffield United are 5th for Big Chances Conceded (15) in the last 6 weeks. They’ve also conceded the most goals (12) while keeping only one clean sheet.

I mentioned it last week, and it’s worth mentioning again. Calvert-Lewin is is joint 1st for Headed Attempts (5) in his last 3 matches. Sheffield United have conceded 10 headed attempts in this period, the 5th most in the league.

Combination 3: Castagne to Dallas

FPL BGW36 Transfer Trend ~ 26.4% of Castagne sellers have moved to Dallas
26.4% of Castagne sellers have moved to Dallas
The same teams as our first transfer combination, Leicester to Leeds, combine for our final one. Here the combination we’re looking at is Castagne to Dallas. So far we can see that 26.4% of Castagne sellers have moved to the Leeds defender, Stuart Dallas. Given that Leicester blank, it’s no surprise managers are moving on.

In the last 6 weeks, Dallas has been very impressive and has amassed 36points. Trent Alexander-Arnold is the only defender to score more points (40) in this period. The bulk of these points coming from the 3 goals that Dallas has scored – the most for any defender.

Dallas has been somewhat of a revelation this season. Down as a defender in FPL, he has found himself playing in midfield the majority of the season. At times, he can find himself as one of the furthest forward. This was evident with his positioning for his back post goal against Spurs in GW35 – something a striker would be proud of.

With 8 goals and 3 assists this season, it’s this attacking intent that interest managers in the Leeds man.

Who do Leeds face in BGW36?

Leeds travel to Burnley in BGW36 where managers will hope Dallas can continue his attacking form. Although they’ve kept 2 clean sheets, Burnley are 3rd for Shots Conceded (106) and 3rd for Shots in Box Conceded (66) between GW30-35.

Burnley have conceded 106 shots in last 6 weeks (GW30-35)

In the same time frame, Dallas has shown how dangerous he is from an attacking point of view. With 3 goals scored, from 12 shots – 6 of which were on target – Dallas is by far the most dangerous defender in the game.

Dallas the most dangerous defender (GW30-35)

With strong fixtures between now and the end of the season, Leeds assets, and Dallas in particular could be a great move to make this week.

l look forward to hearing your thoughts and discussing your transfers in the lead up to the Gameweek 36 deadline at 18:30 BST on Friday 14th May.
