Wondering who you should have in your team for FPL GW33? You’re in the right place! In this article, I will identify all of these assets in depth, comparing players with statistics, leaving a summary on both players at the end.
FPL GW33 Must Have Assets | Compared with Stats
Liverpool – Salah (£12.6, 32.6% TSB) & Jota (£7.0, 17.1% TSB)
FPL GW33 Fixture – Newcastle (H, FDR = 2)
This duo is the way for FPL Managers to gain their points. Their next fixture against Newcastle is a chance for both of the in form players to contribute to any Liverpool goal. Let’s identify their stats coming into their game against Newcastle.
Salah vs Jota- Stats Comparison since GW27
Metric | Salah | Jota | Better Numbers |
Goals | 2 | 3 | Jota |
Assists | 0 | 0 | Equal |
Shots | 18 | 8 | Salah |
Shots on Target | 6 | 4 | Salah |
Shots inside the Box | 13 | 7 | Salah |
Big Chances (Attack) | 4 | 0 | Salah |
xG/xA | 2.52/1.15 | 0.73/0.35 | Salah |
Key Passes/Big Chances Created (Team Play) | 3/1 | 5/0 | Jota (Key Pass) Salah (Big Chances) |
FPL Points | 21 | 26 | Jota |
Analysing these stats you can tell that Salah does look more established. Jota has more goals, Key Passes, and FPL Points in 5 games. Salah does look more like a lethal attacker looking at these stats. Salah is in the race for the Golden Boot, meaning that motivation can help the Egyptain bag more goals. Liverpool go up against Newcastle, a rather light challenge for the Reds. Newcastle have conceded 53 goals, the 4th highest so far. This season the baggies have kept only 5 Clean Sheets, the 2nd worst in this season. Newcastle’s defensive statistics are another reason why you should bring in the dynamic Liverpool duo.
Manchester United – Greenwood (£7.1, 3.3% TSB) & Cavani (£7.9, 3.5% TSB)
FPL GW33 Fixture – Leeds (A, FDR = 3)
Rather two differential picks, Greenwood & Cavani are on spectacular form at the moment. Their next fixture is against Leeds United, an FDR rating of 3. Want to see why these two are a must have, take a look at their stats below.
Cavani vs Greenwood Stats since GW27
Metric | Cavani | Greenwood | Better Numbers |
Goals | 2 | 4 | Greenwood |
Assists | 1 | 1 | Equal |
Shots | 2 | 15 | Greenwood |
Shots on Target | 2 | 6 | Greenwood |
Shots inside the Box | 2 | 13 | Greenwood |
Big Chances (Attack) | 1 | 4 | Greenwood |
xG/xA | 0.62/0.16 | 2.33/1.36 | Greenwood |
Key Passes/Big Chances Created (Team Play) | 2/0 | 4/2 | Greenwood |
FPL Points | 12 | 24 | Greenwood |
Cavani did not have a better stat in any column. He didn’t play in GW 27 and 28 though. In this span of 5 games, the only time where he played the full 90 minutes was against Spurs, netting a goal and producing one. In his last 2 games, he has been part of 50% of United’s goals, playing 135 minutes. Only owned by 3.3% of FPL Managers as well, a differential to consider. We can’t take it away from Greenwood though, the man is in a different world in his past 3 games, being a part of 5 of United’s 8 goals. In fact, he has scored only 5 goals this season, and 4 of those have been in the past 3 games. He is owned by 3.5% of FPL Managers as well, a real differential to consider in these upcoming games.
You can’t already call it a point spree, Leeds United are an established team, but don’t look that good defensively, conceding 50 goals, the 6th worst in the league so far. With Martial out for the season, the slot is open for Greenwood and Cavani to take it. Both can play the full 90, proved against Spurs. No doubt that the in form men can deliver against Leeds United.

Wolves – Coady (£4.9, 7.5% TSB) & Semedo (£5.3, 3.5% TSB)
FPL GW33 Fixture – Burnley (H, FDR = 2)
The dynamic defensive duo take on Burnley (FDR rating of 2). Instead of taking a look at their attacking stats, let’s compare their defending stats.
Semedo vs Coady- Numbers
Metric | Semedo | Coady | Better Numbers |
Tackles | 75 | 30 | Semedo |
Interceptions | 38 | 24 | Semedo |
Blocks | 10 | 28 | Coady |
Clearances | 63 | 107 | Coady |
Aerial Battles Won | 36 | 34 | Semedo |
Semedo and Coady are pretty equal. Coady has a total of 99 FPL Points, Semedo having 91 points. Looking at their goal involvements, Coady has scored 1 goal this season overall this season with Wolves, Semedo providing 2 of Wolves’ goals this season. If you consider the price and TSB rate, Semedo seems like a great differential, owned by 3.5% of FPL Managers whereas Coady is owned by 7.3% of FPL Managers. Semedo is priced higher but the difference is £0.3. Wolves have managed to keep 9 Clean Sheets, 45 goals conceded.
If we take a look at Burnley’s attacking stats, they have an overall xG of 28.90, worse than Newcastle (32.81). Burnley have only scored 26 goals this season, 22 of those goals being inside the box, and 4 of them being outside the box. The Clarets have had a total of 312 shots, 104 of those being on target. Burnley are considerably dangerous in the box with Chris Wood and Vydra, but Wolves are a strong team that keep the ball in the opponent’s half.
West Ham- Lingard (£6.6, 30.3% TSB) & Bowen (£6.0, 2.9% TSB)
FPL GW33 Fixture – Chelsea (H, FDR = 4)
Both have been on a great run, Lingard being involved in 7 of the Hammer’s 11 goals in a span of 4 games, Bowen being involved in 5 of those 11 goals. Their next clash is against the fierce Chelsea Blues, an FDR rating of 4. The Hammers have been in great form, so let’s see their star players and their statistics.
Lingard vs Bowen stats since GW27
Metric | Lingard | Bowen | Better Numbers |
Goals | 6 | 3 | Lingard |
Assists | 2 | 2 | Equal |
Shots | 14 | 8 | Lingard |
Shots on Target | 9 | 4 | Lingard |
Shots inside the Box | 11 | 7 | Lingard |
Big Chances (Attack) | 5 | 2 | Lingard |
xG/xA | 3.57/0.58 | 1.38/1.22 | Lingard (xG) Bowen (xA) |
Key Passes/Big Chances Created (Team Play) | 4/0 | 4/2 | Bowen |
FPL Points | 50 | 27 | Lingard |
Lingard’s attacking numbers are lethal, no match for Bowen. Lingard has scored in all of his last 4 games, providing 2 assists in those 4 games. Bowen has been involved in a goal in the last 4 games for the Hammers as well (3 Goals, 2 Assists). Their next opponents Chelsea, are a defending masterclass. The Blues have managed to keep 16 clean sheets, the 2nd highest in the league so far. Chelsea have only conceded 31 goals this season, the 2nd best record in the league as of now.
Lingard’s form in the last 4 games speak for his potential coming into his clash against Chelsea, but his xG stat is convincing to FPL Managers, after all, he had a TSB% rate of 14.7% before his clash against Wolves, and now in 3 games his TSB% rate is 30.2%. If you want to go for the differential option, Bowen is a great choice only owned by 2.9% of FPL Managers. Bowen has scored 3 goals in his last 4 games, and has produced 2 goals in his last 2 games. Both players are phenomenal at the moment.

Brighton – Dunk (£4.9, 8.3% TSB) & Veltman (£4.4, 2.1% TSB)
FPL GW33 Fixture – Sheffield United (A, FDR = 2)
A defensive duo to invest in, Dunk and Veltman both play the relegated side Sheffield United. We might not even need to take a look at their defensive stats, just because the Blades’ attacking stats can convince an FPL Manager on the spot. Football is filled with elation, anything can happen. Let’s take a look at their statistics.
Dunk vs Veltman numbers:
Metric | Dunk | Veltmen | Better Numbers |
Tackles | 26 | 65 | Veltmen |
Interceptions | 31 | 31 | Equal |
Blocks | 17 | 5 | Dunk |
Clearances | 92 | 55 | Dunk |
Aerial Battles Won | 66 | 40 | Dunk |
Goals/Assists | 4/0 | 0/1 | Dunk |
Analysing the main columns in the table, Dunk’s stats look more established than Veltmen.. Both are good picks to choose from coming into their clash against Sheffield United, but Dunk is also behind headed goals from Set Pieces. You have to bring in any of these Brighton defenders for their game against the Relegated Blades in FPL GW33. Their attacking stats can convince any FPL Manager.
Their fixture against Sheffield United is defined in one word. Clean Sheet. Consulting Sheffield United’s attacking stats, they have only scored 1 goal in their last 5 games, no other Premier League team has only scored 1 goal in their last 5 games. The Blades have only scored 17 goals this season, the worst in the league as of now. They have also hit the least amount of shots, only having 268 (3rd worst record), 88 of them being on target (Worst Record).
Out of Sheffield United’s 17 goals, 16 of them have been scored inside the box, 1 of them outside the box. If you look at it from this perspective, the likelihood of Sheffield United scoring a goal outside the box is next to no chance, and inside the box can be a threat. All Brighton have to do is keep possession, which they did in their last encounter, managing to have possession 74% of the time. The Blades managed to hit 5 shots, 3 of them on target, whereas Brighton had 21 shots, 5 of them on target. Sheffield United’s attacking stats prove another point on why you should bring in Dunk or Veltmen. Veltman can be a huge differential.
Leicester – Vardy (£10.1, 19.7% TSB) & Iheanacho (£6.1, 17.4% TSB)
FPL GW33 Fixture – Crystal Palace (H, FDR = 2)
The fierce attacking duo play Crystal Palace at home, indeed a chance to bag multiple points. You might not even need to take a look at the stats due to Iheanacho’s fantastic form, but why not compare him to the likes of Vardy coming into their encounter against Crystal Palace in FPL GW33.
Ihenacho vs Vardy stats since GW27
Metric | Iheanacho | Vardy | Better Numbers |
Goals | 8 | 0 | Iheanacho |
Assists | 0 | 3 | Vardy |
Shots | 28 | 8 | Iheanacho |
Shots on Target | 13 | 4 | Iheanacho |
Shots inside the box | 20 | 5 | Iheanacho |
Big Chances (Attack) | 11 | 3 | Iheanacho |
xG/xA | 5.83/2.02 | 1.55/1.90 | Iheanacho |
Key Passes/Big Chances Created (Team Play) | 13/2 | 6/4 | Iheanacho |
FPL Points | 62 | 19 | Iheanacho |
Wow, it’s almost like Iheanacho stole the spotlight from Vardy. Vardy only got a better stat in the assist column, all being against Sheffield United in their 5-0 Victory where Iheanacho scored a hat-trick. The last time Vardy scored a goal is not a pretty scene, scoring all the way back in GW24 against Liverpool. Since then the lethal striker has been quiet since Iheanacho took his spotlight in GW27. Considering the price, Iheanacho is definitely the pick for FPL Managers right now.
They do face a team with a poor defensive record this season, Crystal Palace. The Eagles have conceded 52 goals, the 5th worst record in the season as of now. With 52 goals conceded, they have 7 clean sheets, the 3rd worst record in the league so far. Iheanacho’s form in the last couple of games have convinced FPL managers to select him ahead of his encounter against Crystal Palace.
